I have used First Choice for quite a while a few years and won't use anyone else. Never a problem with setting up my annual service and like clock work a technician arrives as promised. I get a diagnosis of my system with the annual service sent to email and if a part is failing the technician will let me know without paying a service call. I have been a customer of First Choice A/C & Heating since October 2022, at least. From Marisa in the office to Carlos, the tech that comes to my home, I have found their customer service to be top notch. Mostly, Carlos comes twice a year to complete the annual maintenance of the furnace and AC unit. However, the most recent visit was due to the AC not working right at the first heat wave of the year, of course. Carlos was here the next day to diagnose the issue. He ordered the part and had the AC operating as normal within 1 business day. I have always found Carlos to be professional, respectful and knowledgeable. I feel very comfortable with him in my home. I work from home, so usually when he is here I shut my office door so I can work - - I totally trust him in my home without me feeling a need to babysit. I along with my neighbor have used their services for a number of years and I can't say enough good things about them. Starting with the professionalism from the moment you call that extends to every technician that comes out to service your unit. Marissa handles a lot of the office functions and will ensure you will not feel like a number, but that your issue will be addressed as soon as possible! Always willing to help and has great personable skills. Knowledgeable the team aspect is seen as she interacts with the technicians your issue to prepare them to meet with you. As a woman home owner it's nice to know that you will get a pic emailed to you with a nice intro from the technician along with a call and text that they are in route. Reminder texts re: your appointment is part of the process and they also enter your home covering their feet. Carlos is my maintenance technician who I have requested, however this last visit he was on vacation and I met others that came for an issue I was having with my air. You know you picked the right company when your selected favorite is out on vacation and find out other technicians are just as professional, knowledgeable and worked for hours trying to find the issue then concluding that they would replace the part that was under warranty and on another day with another crew honored that by working from 8am to 7pm! Only leaving to replace a cracked board which they say was under warranty too! How often do you find a reputable company with technicians that do that! We've used First Choice A/C for three years. They've done all our regular seasonal check-ups. That was until today. I had just returned from an out-of-town trip only to find our house was 91 degrees. Obviously something was very wrong. As it was a Sunday, I was hesitant to place a request for repair expecting the up charge service call price would be through the roof. I spoke with Natasha who assured me that the price would be the same as what it would be for regular M-F business hours call. I was certain that due to the high temperature today, that First Choice would be slammed with other people calling. Lucky for me, I was able to get an appointment for the same day. Natasha stayed in communication with me. She advised that the technician scheduled to do our service was still working on an earlier call, but that she had scheduled another technician who had previously serviced our A/C. I was delighted at this level of service and communication! Our technician-Carlos-was quick to examine the situation. He provided two suggestions for repair and went over both alternatives and answered questions clearly. He set to work (did I mention the temperature is 106 today?) and about an hour later, our A/C was back up and running and cooling us off! One additional thing I appreciate is that First Choice equips their technicians with tablets so they can reference work previously completed. Really helpful. One final shout-out to Service Technician Carlos: Super professional, knowledgeable, respectful and polite. He's an asset to First Choice. Net Net: First Choice gets a very hearty thumbs up from us. Great company and right down the street from us in Palm Desert. They responded to my Yelp request in an hour or so and set me up with an appointment to check our heater in two days. Got text messages and a phone call when the tech was on his way. Carlos was great. Went through our heater to make sure everything was in order, then turned to our thermostat. Yes, it was all on me :) I had installed a new thermostat, but didn't go deep into the settings. Carlos whipped through 10 or so screens to get it set up and the heater came on. We bought the checkup package for a year. $120 to come out in the spring to check the AC, then return next fall to check the heater. I feel secure. read more

This is our first summer in the Desert, and wouldn't you know it, one of our AC units went down on a 117 degree August day. Because we just bought this home, we had a home warranty so I called them first. They were of little to no help and said the soonest they could send a vendor would be 48 hours out. We have a dog fighting leukemia and is super sensitive to heat, so this wasn't going to work. I went to Yelp and found that First Choice was the best reviewed company and gave them a call. They said they could get someone out the same day. Thank goodness! I received a text message letting me know when the technician was on his way, and there was a link I could choose if I wanted to find out more about him before he arrived. Silvester arrived on time, provided excellent communication and within 30 minutes he had replaced our capacitor and the house was back to cooling mode. I had a lot of questions about the condition of these 15 year old AC units (we have three) and Silvester patiently provided options and suggestions for transitioning to newer units, and let me ask a ton of questions. He fixed the problem and the cost was super reasonable....I paid for the part and then 99 dollars for the service. We needed a Nest thermostat installed. First choice responded quickly with a very fair estimate. They had flexibility in scheduling. The technician was on time and very professional. He had to climb to the roof to access the furnace and he did it willingly. He discovered that we had some excess/useless wires connecting to our old thermostat and he took the initiative to remove them when he could have left them to save time and we'd have no idea. My AC stopped working at 5.45pm Friday evening, and with temperatures of 115 F, I called around to try and get someone to come an fix my AC immediately. I called other prominent AC companies in the desert and they wanted to charge me twice the price for a service call to come at around 11pm that night! I called First Choice AC company. The customer service rep over the phone was very friend and helpful. She showed that she cared about the situation I was in. She mentioned that someone could come within the hour, and at half the service call pricing of the other companies. The price was fair. In less than 30 minutes, the service tech Silvester called me, saying that he was 5-10 minutes away. He came very quickly, he was very professional, explaining what he would do to diagnose the problem. In short, he fixed the problem, and explained other issues that I may wish to fix to lengthen the life of the AC. Additionally, he noticed my air filter was dirty, so he fixed my AC, changed my AC filter in less than an hour! So within 1 and 1/2 hours from my initial phone call to First Choice AC, my AC was back working! After the job was completed, Silvester went through exactly what was repair, the job that he did. They sent me an email with the invoice and also a chart and photos detailing the details of the repair. Great for my records! over a month with 4 appts misdiagnosed every time, expects me to pay for parts that weren't bad to begin with I refused so Robby said I was intimidating his employees. First Choice has been my trusty HVAC service for years, ever since my a/c konked out over a Fourth of July weekend and they were able to install a new compressor in one day, for many hundreds of dollars less than my then-existing service (the one with the military name). Last year I had First Choice replace the whole aging HVAC system and I'm very happy with their quality work. WOW...Not sure why anyone would give them 5 stars because they did not earn that from me. I told the repair person that it might be a fuse on my AC unit. Turns out he didn't even check that first and came back with another repair for almost $400/ Afterwards he tells me that there was a bad fuse...no kidding...Like I said. Not sure he knew what he was doing and just started replacing things. Now he wants another $110 to pop in a $8.10 fuse...WTF...I feel like this is senior abuse! Let's take advantage of the old people. I happen to be in cancer treatment and had to allow this abuse because it was late and had to have AC when it was over 100 degrees outside this evening. Their employee Julien showed up promptly as scheduled, and after trying to fix the motor on the fan, we decided we would need a new one. Well, I cannot stress enough how fantastic this Air Conditioning Company performs. We have had three major companies care for our air conditioning system. One was way too expensive, the next too busy to call back. The third just plain didn't know what they were doing. This was over the ten years we have lived here in the desert. The condensation from our 2 A/C units in the attic were flowing out of the secondary lines just below the roof line. I called this morning and was surprised that they scheduled a team for the afternoon. They send Steven and Eduardo out to our home. I explained that our former A/C crew cleared the lines, but with less than favorable results about a month ago. Steven and Edward went into the attic and quickly found the issue. BOTH main condensation lines were clogged. Steven told me they would fix that today! They came down after working a while and explained every thing they did. Clearing both lines at the unit and further down the lines to make SURE they were clear. They also set up the lines so they would flow better. They arrived at 2:15pm and were finished by 3:25pm. It's now 11:35am and the issue is fixed for a fair price. First Choice customer service without equal.
