    Heavenly Burrito - @thegreenberggang
    Samantha C.

I absolutely love Omokase! My brother lives nearby and introduced me to them years ago and their sushi burritos have been some of my favorites foods since. Living in Florida, I've tried to find others but none ever compare. Until my most recent trip, however, I had only eaten from their Rancho Cucamonga location. The food at both is great, but I did like the RC location more. The Fontana location is a little larger and seemed slightly less crowded since RC is always busy. The staff is by far nicer, friendlier, and more helpful at the Rancho location too. It had been at least 8 years since I had eaten at the RC location and I don't even know if the Fontana location existed back then, but I ordered from here the first night. The burritos were good as always but the Omokase was my favorite! The spicy tuna inside is yummy and definitely has a good bite to it. The heavenly burrito came with a spicy ponzu dipping sauce and the Omokase burrito came with spicy mayo and eel sauce. The second time I ordered (before leaving to go back to Florida), they didn't give me any sauces and the lady at the front gave me a hard time asking for the sauces that they came with it. I found it strange since RC gives them also and I had placed an order well over $100, but she giving me a hard time about sauces they have readily available pre-portioned by the door. It struck me as odd and made it so that I was always order from RC from now. Although the experience wasn't favorable, the food is so good and with the right people, it should be no problem. Full disclosure: I've never eaten anything other than their sushi burritos so I can't vouch for any other food, but they are alone are worth 3 visits on my 5 day trip! :)

We came for a late night dinner and it's almost time for closing and they were happy to serve us! We ordered and our food was delicious and was out fast! Servers are all nice! Very clean Resturant with a lot of seating. Prices are average not going to break your bank. I enjoy supporting small businesses!

5 STARS! Just Don't Forget to Order the Edamame! First time dining here for quite a while. I've been here before for take out and visited the location in Rancho Cucamonga. Some things to set straight to begin with... this location and the Rancho Cucamonga location are ran by different owners. Both are excellent restaurants, but here... I have to admit, more love is put into these rolls. Let me explain how I know, and tell you what you need to know to enjoy your visit here. I visited here and dined in on a Saturday night for dinner. We got sat at the sushi bar, by request, at about 7:30 - we didn't have to wait very long to get seated as many customers were waiting for a table instead of the bar. The restaurant was already crawlin with customers. Once sat we ordered a pitcher of beer, then looked at the menu. We placed our order at about with the sushi chef, Jake, who then communicated the order to our server. Our pitcher came first, then the Sake Don, Salmon Skin Salad. After, the two rolls. To be honest, there was quite a wait before the food started coming out... which was about 20 minutes from the time we ordered. YET, everything was well worth the wait! All complaints put aside. No kidding. In all honesty, everything was amazing! The rolls were made with skill, each roll was made with generous slices of fish. The rice to fish ratio was well balanced with the amount of fish outweighing the amount of rice. The Don was bomb! The Salmon Skin Salad was pleasing to the soul! Moreover, when the pitcher of beer was served, it was accompanied by two super-chilled glasses that looked like they were made of ice! Some other highlights worth mentioning: 1) They have many beers on tap, all the usual suspects found at a sushi restaurant... BUT, also including Orion Beer! I've been to many sushi restaurants and this is the only place that I've encountered with Orion on tap. Usually it is served by the bottle only. 2) They serve Carpaccio. Your choice of Salmon, Albacore, or Tuna. 3) Blue Fin Tuna is also on the menu, specially served. 4) The sushi chefs were courteous and friendly. Jake served us and was awesome. The servers were relatively busy but still attentive. Excellent ambiance overall! I will definitely be back! The only thing I could sincerely complain about is that around dinner time they get A LOT of to-go orders; so, it was a little annoying to see a lot of these orders get filled while having to wait about 20 mins before my food was served. Therefore, if you are hungry and are dining in... order the Edamame and ask them to bring it out the same time as your beer. Not sure why this restaurant gets a 3.5 star overall review... more than likeyly because of some of the wait involved. Overlook that. The restaurant currently has an A rating. IGNORE THE POOR AND SOUR MELODRAMATIC REVIEWS, and just try out a single roll. Chances are you WILL NOT regret it!

    Volcano Roll

Yeah it was pretty bad. I've never been a big sushi fan but this one took the cake. Got me a volcano roll, they add all these concoctions to it, what threw me off was some parts of it were warm and some was cold, and I didn't like it along with the random mix of the breading, the sushi and this weird red paste above it. I didn't eat most of it because I was hungry but never again. Let me tell you about the wings, you take a bit and the breading is all soggy and separated from the chicken. It's like they threw them in the microwave and inflated them up. The breading was terrible, only ate one wing, the chicken is chicken but those were some of the worst wings I've ever had. Volcano Roll: 5.8 Wings: 3.0

Had this sushi spot for dinner tonight for the second time, and I was quite impressed. The prices are reasonable, and the quality was very good. My favorite roll was the Rainbow Roll--it had a nice mix of colorful raw fish and fresh ingredients like salmon, tuna, avocado, and cucumber. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. My least favorite was the Baked Lobster Roll. It was a bit dry and felt like it had too much going on. Other than that, my experience was great. The staff were very polite and made sure my order was ready on time! There are plenty of seats inside. The restaurant area is busy since they do share the parking lot but there is plenty of parking.

This is a pretty sushi spot. I've been here a couple of times already and each visit the sushi rolls have tasted consistent and good. My favorite one will have to be the Lion King roll.

Came in close to 9pm to satisfy our craving. We were hosted by a very beautiful and friendly team. The sushi chefs were all lined up by the bar busy with their creations. We had a good spread but this time we ordered just right to make us all content. It was a nice evening. Thank you Team Omokase.

No issues, good food, good portions, and fast, attentive service. I got a bento box with sushi, a roll and tempura. All of it was good and fresh. My friend got a couple of rolls that were bigger than we were expecting and very flavorful. The ambiance was clean but a little basic. Pricing was good, it was about $45 for both of us. I will be back!

First thing, who i presume is the owner, was behind the sushi counter making sushi. He politely greeted me and i like that he acknowledged it was not just me, but baby as well. He directed us towards a corner booth. I noticed this place is pretty clean and seems to be an authentic sushi restaurant. At 1pm they did have a decent crowd. The server came over promptly and took my order. I had the mixed tempura and the lunch sushi combo with a coke She came back with my drinks and a miso soup. I love miso soup and this is a good one. Not too salty and it separates when not stirred- a sign of good miso soup. Within about 7 minutes, she brought out my mixed tempura. It was light, airy and still crispy and the dipping sauce had that perfect flavor. When i was about half way down with the tempura she brought my sushi combo. EXTREMELY FRESH! The nigiri was perfectly proportioned. The California roll was equally as fresh. The difference between a good roll and a bad roll is the rice. The rice was fresh and soft. This place is a green flag in the best way possible. I think this will be my new sushi go to place.

The rolls came very saucy, and most plates had an aesthetic appearance. Personally, if I were to ever revisit this location, I'd only order the garlic noodles w/ shrimp & the nigiri. For this review, I will focus on the Lobster Tail Roll ($36), Gyoza ($14), and Monaka Ice Cream ($7). I arrived at Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) on Sunday (around 12:50PM). Parking is very easy. The lot is HUGE. I had a reservation for 1PM, but a reservation felt superfluous since the restaurant was VERY empty. Throughout the entire dining experience, I only noticed one other group arrive. Staff is the HIGHLIGHT! Staff (receipt says JoJo) was the MAIN superstar. JoJo charmed the table; JoJo maintained a professional, kind demeanor; and JoJo worked very hard. JoJo gave excellent recommendations, and JoJo maintained a friendly, bright smile throughout our visit. Regarding food, it felt inconsistent. The food in the beginning was plated elegantly and carefully. However, as time progressed, it felt like the kitchen was beginning to rush despite the lack of customers. Food arrived very slowly, and later plates looked a little splattered and untidy. Thankfully, most of the food was very good. It's a journey of texture, fresh ingredients, and light & bright flavors. The Lobster Tail Roll ($36) had fried lobster bits, asparagus, avocado, masago, eel sauce, and mayo. It tasted like a vegetable roll at times. The Gyoza ($14 - 6 Piece) was panfried with seasoned pork and vegetables. Tasty!! And the Monaka Ice Cream ($7) is tiny with Macaroon Shell and a small scoop of Green Tea Ice Cream. All in all, these dishes didn't feel special, but they were prepared well enough. On ambiance, Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) is very attractive. The location is dimly lit, very clean, and spacious. However, the music is awkward at times. There were moments where light, lovely music was playing... only for random yelling music to briefly appear... to then suddenly be replaced with a country-style song. It all felt surreal. I don't think it was intended, but I think their music playlist was accidentally switched to the wrong track. Overall, Kuwada (Rancho Cucamonga) is an interesting experience. Honestly, the only reason this review is "5 Stars" is because our waitress was EXEMPLARY. Although the ambiance and cooking staff was lackluster, the front of house is MAGIC. This is a not bad, pricey place. 4.5 out of 5

With that said the food is always amazing. We have been dining there for a long time and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend this place based on that. However I ended up losing my cool the last time we went. I ordered the all-you-can-eat service. The waiter brings the menu and I fill it out splitting the order into two rounds to pace myself and enjoy the food. The first round wasn't even completed when the waiter brought the menu back and left it at our table. I thought that was odd but figured maybe the chefs mark down what they need to make then they return the menu in case there needs to be any adjustments. About 20 minutes pass without the waiter stopping by to check on us or grab the menu. I look around and the chefs aren't making anything. They're looking around and hanging out at the sushi bar. That's when I began to realize that they aren't continuing with my order. The waiter comes back (finally) and I asked him why the menu is at our table when nothing is being made. He says "you got two rounds" and when I explained I didn't even get all of the first round he swiftly grabs the menu and runs it over to the chefs. At this point I'm irritated because we had somewhere to be after dinner and we would have had plenty of time to enjoy the food if there wasn't a long delay with absolutely nothing being made. I just figured "ok, it is what it is." Next thing I know our table is being flooded with the entire order all at once (made in a rush once he realized what happened). We had to get going so we asked for the check and a couple of boxes. I figured since he messed up he would just bring the boxes and we would pay and leave. When he brought it he charged us a "to go" fee as well as full price for whatever I didn't get to finish. I called him out on charging me all of the extra money and fee and asked him why am I getting charged when he's the one who dropped the ball and there was a huge delay on getting served. He keeps repeating himself "you have to pay because you're taking it to go." So I keep telling him he needs to adjust the bill because of what he did and how it caused us to just sit there with nothing being brought out for a long time. He repeated himself once again and that's when I lost my cool and started showing my anger. I told him we were just going to let the food go to waste then because I'm not paying extra when I shouldn't have to. As I got up to talk to the cashier about the extra charges (still visibly angry) the owner himself came over and comped the entire bill. He really didn't have to do that and I kept insisting on paying the bill just without the extra charges but he refused to take my money which did make me feel bad because that wasn't my intention at all. I love this place but the waiter screwed up which was actually our first bad experience in all the times we've been there. So if the owner sees this - this is what happened. I'm sure the waiter probably left out any details about him screwing up and told it like I wanted to take food to go without being charged for breaking the all-you-can-eat deal. I am grateful for the owner's generosity to rectify the situation (and get me out of there) and the amazing food but the waiter probably didn't want to take any blame so he wasn't trying to see what he can do to solve the problem with management himself which is what caused me to go off. Again, this place is awesome. The food is great. I just needed to explain the situation and why things happened the way they did.

I ordered several sushi platters for a reception and they were absolutely delicious. Everything was…read morefresh, beautifully presented, and a big hit with our guests. The variety was great and every roll was amazing. On top of that, the customer service was outstanding, very friendly, helpful, and made he entire process easy from start to finish. They were also paid attention to detail and had all my favorite varieties of sushi that were mentioned when ordering. I will need to dine in since I enjoyed their sushi so much and will stop in when back in the area. Highly recommend this spot!!
