I've wanted to check this place out ever since I saw it on queer eye a few years back, and it didn't disappoint! We visited during their lunar new year/6th anniversary party so it was quite busy, but we expected as much on a Saturday party day. My taiyaki sundae was tasty and exactly what I needed on a hot Austin afternoon. I love that you can swirl the flavors and choose a filling and topping to get a custom creation. Seating is very limited to their outdoor pseudo-enclosed front porch, but we ended up eating out sundaes while checking out the vendors outside. This place is so cute! I'll definitely be back.
I have been a fan of OMG Squee since seeing the Queer Eye episode in which Sarah is featured! Living in NH I was unable to sample the wares from her bakery. But then my husband and I decided to visit Austin in February 2026! I am so Excited! I bought so many different goodies, a sticker, a few t-shirts, and a waffle mix! Omg everything was so good! The place is adorable, clean, and so well stocked! Everyone is so friendly, and once I finally decided which milk tea and goodies I wanted they quickly filled my order! There is a lot of seating on the outside of the building as well as in the front porch area- sheltered from the weather. I wish we lived closer so I could go there weekly!!
Started following their IG for a bit. Headed up to Austin for the weekend. Cute little spot. So much to choose from. Rotating donut and macaron selections that are posted every 2 weeks. If you like butter mochi and macarons this is the place to go. GF as well. Staff was friendly. We ended up there twice.
Boba pearls are absolutely awful. Had to argue to get rose in my oolong because they didn't think it would pair well.. I liked the drink a lot, but the boba pearls were hard, chewy, and chalky like they didn't boil them long enough. Should have gone to coco's for boba instead. Will be back to try their soft serve
I wish we could come here all the time. We come to OMG Squee 3-4 times a year since it's a hike from where we live. We came today for the mooncakes, and I'm so glad we didn't wait any longer to get these, because they're divine! So beautifully done. So many beautiful details, and you can tell the care they put into each cake. The mooncakes aren't too sweet, they are soft, they are delicious, and they are worth every penny! We also got my kiddo a taiyaki with Nutella, miso caramel soft serve, and Oreo (GF) dust. Perfection in every single bite. Every time, their taiyaki fills my gluten free heart with joy. It looks like they're in the middle of some renovations, and it shows! Small changes so far, but it looks like more is to come! Staff is always kind, and each time we're here we are quickly reminded why we love OMG Squee! Thank you for everything!
Maybe I got the wrong thing but I ordered the Hong Kong Milk tea with boba and the soft serve ice cream. And the HK milk tea was wayyy too sweet and I didn't taste much of the tea. They told me the boba was freshly made but it's actually undercooked or don't cook it correctly bc it was still pretty hard on the inside. I ended up throwing it away. The soft serve was actually less sweet than the drink but it lacked flavor. I wouldn't come back bc although it's gluten-free, I'll pass on the overly sweet desserts. Not very healthy.
First of all, the shop was so cute and pink. And second of all, the donuts are soooooo cute!! I've never heard of "butter mochi" donuts before, only ever having regular Asian mochi donuts so this was definitely new and diff!! The texture was more pastry-doughy than the Asian ones. It wasn't overly sweet either. I couldn't really taste the Thai tea in mine unfortunately.. but it was cute! I'd love to try tbe taiyaki ice cream next time :)
OMG -- I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. We've been coming here for over five years, and they are consistently outstanding. Their mochi donuts are always delicious, perfectly chewy, and absolutely addictive. This has become our go-to "special treat" spot anytime we're near the airport or want to bring something fun and unique to visiting guests. And the best part? Everything is gluten-free, which makes it a true crowd-pleaser even for the pickiest eaters. OMG Squee is one of those rare places that delivers every single time. If you want a treat that's memorable, playful, and reliably delicious, this is it.
OMG squee can really be a hit or a miss for me. For those who have never been this dessert shop changes their donut and ice cream flavors every two weeks. Some weeks are good, others not so much. Unfortunately this time was one of those not so good weeks. The owner is doing an adventure time themed set with four different character donuts and four inspired flavors. The only flavors that I liked were Lady lumps( the pink and green donut that is matcha, lemon, and lavender flavored), Rock N Roll Vamp( gray donut with red and Black sesame and raspberry flavored. Please bring this back), and unacceptably Lemon( the yellow donut with white cream which is a lemon sour cream cake flavor). The Chilli & buttered(blue and yellow) was a blueberry sweet corn with blue brown buttered glaze and tasted ok but the blueberry pieces baked into the donut gave it a weird texture. The adventure boy(white character donut black & white chocolate choc chip + cream cheese flavor) was kind of bland and a little underwhelming. The magic boy( yellow character donut maple bacon pancake flavored) had a very light maple flavor just tasted more like frosting on a mochi donut. The Gum queen( pink character donut which was bubblegum flavored) wasn't bad but after two or three bites it tasted like pepto bismol. Finally the A.I bestie( blue character donut that is tropical dreamsicle flavor) was a little too artificial tasting for me. Overall it's still a pretty good spot and the boba is good, this cycle was just a wash for me. Also keep in mind that there is not a lot of parking so you may need to park a little further out.
Hate to say it, but I found Omg Squee overrated! Pros: good location near ABP and a bunch of other stuff in East Austin. Also, lots of gluten free stuff! Cons: very small. No interior seating and limited seating out front. There is a shared outdoor space with a bike shop with picnic tables where you can sit. Also, parking is very limited, and street parking there is confusing. In general, the donut was very dense. The soft serve was good. Glad to have checked it out finally since it was on my list, but I most likely will not be coming back.
It's very exciting to have a spot with Asian inspired flavors in sweet treat forms such as matcha blueberry mochi donuts and ube soft serve w/ red bean stuffed taiyaki. However, the overall experience left me with unfulfilled anticipation. I've had their macarons at an event before, and found them delicious and definitely to be the star feature. Great bite and gentle chew with lovely fillings that weren't too sweet. However, from my in-person experience, their namesake soft serve was melty and bland compared to their names. The fruity pebbles were the only thing that brought flavor to the cereal milk flavored soft serve - otherwise, it just tasted like a light vanilla. We also found the taiyaki to be dry and more of a instagram photo app rather than an enjoyable indulgence. The mochi donut, while very, very cute!, was way too sweet. Like, tooth pain sweet. It clearly had real blueberries in it which is a lovely addition and had a great glutinous chew. I think it would have been very enjoyable if not for the sugar green coating. Lastly, their milk tea seems to be on the complete opposite spectrum of sweetness. It was ordered as is, but the milk tasted like watered down skim, and I didn't pick up any of the tea flavoring. The boba had a decent chew, but didn't taste like they were in a syrup soak. Honestly, probably the least enjoyable bubble tea I've had in Austin. As for where to to sit, they do have a decent amount of booths in the front patio and picnic benches outside without too much shade. This is fine now, but when the summer season hits, I could see it being uncomfortable. If you go, definitely do the macarons.
Come for the mochi donuts! I grabbed the snickerdoodle, almost too cute to bite into, but let's be real, it didn't last long. The calamansi limeade leaned a little sweet at first, but as the ice melted, the tangy kick really came through. And if you really want to go all in, add the taiyaki ice cream swirl (miso caramel & banana). Yep, total sugar explosion, in the best way!
So Kawaii U^ェ^U !! I got these mochi donuts for my sisters birthday and she was so happy. The whole shops decor is so cute. It's so colorful! It is quite a line to get an order in but worth the experience of holding these for yourself. The taste was good but after a few bites of trying each one though most of the flavors started tasting like each other. Still satisfied our sweet tooth!! I only tried the donuts so I definitely want to come back sometime and try their boba drinks as well. read more

I had been wanting to check out this place since it opened so was glad to finally visit. There was a line but it went by quickly. As we waited for our turn to order we noticed that the donuts were quickly selling out. Tip: get there early! We ordered the swirl. I don't like ice scream OMG was it good! I ordered a matcha strawberry rose milk and a matcha ice cream the other night. I thought the matcha ice cream in a cone was great! I loved how it was in a fish and absorbs some of the ice cream. However, the matcha I wanted without ice since I was going to drink it the next day. That's where the disappointment was. read more

Great dessert shop, they make their brown sugar boba in house from scratch. I'm no matcha expert but it was super smooth and really delicious with a subtle not too sweet flavor. read more
If you want something UNIQUE & SWEET & INSTAGRAM WORTHY. Go to this place. I have made quite an album here. From their most popular fish shaped waffle, with interesting ice cream flavors! We chose taro and banana. And everything was just beautiful and delicious. We also had the mochi donuts that were soft and chewy, and totally stood out by their shapes and matching flavors. The orange tiger is Thai tea flavored. The brown dog is Vietnamese Coffee. The white cat is Mexican Vanilla. So so adorable!!! And their teas were quite unique too! The Black Lychee tea actually had real lychees in it. And the purple tea was taro and the kids loved that one best. Definitely looking forward to revisiting again. read more

Novelty desserts with a cute motif geared towards those who post about their food on social media (no judgement). This place was suggested by a friend after it became famous for being on Austin's Queer Eye. Practically no parking in front of the shop. You may get lucky at the MoKan Trail head just down Bolm, or settle with dirty looks from the neighbors. We ordered a dozen donuts in advance and 2 bubble teas when we arrived. It wasn't clear where we could have skipped the line if we were only picking up the donuts, but it didn't matter this time since we were getting bubble tea anyway. I wish you could specify which flavors you wanted in your dozen. If you get the full 12 you are guaranteed one of each, but it's luck of the draw if you get doubled up on the flavors you like. The inside of the shop is tiny. The only seating are the tables outside. Service was friendly and prompt, albeit there is almost always going to be a line. If you're not eating all the donuts the same day you get them, I recommend re-heating them in a oven for 5 minutes, ~250F. When we went in Feb 2023, there was a homeless encampment visible just on the other side of the tracks of the CapMetro rail. Then, as you're leaving with your $38 box of donuts that you mostly bought so you can impress strangers online, you think, do I really need this? And I know whether or not you see the homeless encampment doesn't change that there is a homeless problem. It was just a weird vibe. Same reason all the horse-drawn carriage companies went out of business in Austin. Who wants to be on a horse-drawn carriage looking down on homeless encampments :/ We'll probably be back to try the soft serve after I work some volunteer hours or something. read more

In my first trip to Austin, I knew I had to make a special stop at OMG Squee. Admittedly, it was after watching Queer Eye and following OMG on Insta for a couple of years I couldn't wait to try the tasty treats here! I had the matcha honey soft serve and ordered a bunch of macarons and a salted egg mochi donut to go. The soft serve was amazing and not too sweet. The mochi donut was also great because it was just the right amount of sweet. I haven't tried the macarons yet, but I can't wait to try all the fun flavors. I hope that the next time i come back to Austin I can try out their bobas. Thank you for sharing these amazing desserts with the world! read more

Omg Squee has the cutest Asian American desserts. I've had friends share their mochi donuts a couple of times before but I myself have never visited their store. To fix that, we went a little after 4 pm on a Saturday and were disappointed to hear that the mochi donuts were already sold out. Definitely go earlier in the day if that is what you are looking to try. Luckily I was there for the Taiyaki soft serve which was still available. I got the miso caramel and ube swirl. It was a pretty warm outside that day and the store was super busy so the ice cream was way too soft. They were handing everyone a cup to put their ice cream in and I definitely saw someone's ice cream fall over onto the floor outside. Their flavors change pretty regularly so I'll be back to try some more. read more

Went on a whim and loved it! We ordered the ube soft serve sundaes with Nutella filled taiyaki ($8.50 ea), cereal milk soft serve ($5.50) a boba drink ($5), and a mochi donut (I *think* I paid for this but didn't get it? My kids were distracting me and I'm pretty sure I ordered it but totally possible my brain malfunctioned.) The soft serve is DELICIOUS. Like, epically delicious I enjoyed both the Ube and cereal milk flavor, next time I want to try the black sesame and brown sugar tea. 10 out of 10. I used to go to a place in LA that had Melona soft serve taiyaki and I'm hopeful to find it here in Austin, just a selfish suggestion for a future flavor.... lol The boba drink was very tart, too tart maybe? I love yuzu but it felt very heavy on yuzu and it overpowered the drink. The boba was super delicious and chewy though. I would give this a 6 out of 10. I won't be ordering it again but I will definitely try some of their other options. The location is a little out there and for a split second I was sure my gps was leading me astray and then I saw the cute pink and black storefront. They have 4 booths in front with a long bench on each side. They don't sell water but they offer free water cups which is nice. I really like all the cuteness and the colorful maneki neko options. So tempted to get some for the house!!! Service was friendly and if you're planning a visit try to get there earlier in the day so you don't run into any sold out items. Total was $31.39 and I added a 20% tip on top of that. It's a little pricey but worth it. read more
Pretty good soft serve! To be honest, I was expecting their ice cream to be very sweet but they turned out to be mild and refreshing. Love the black sesame and ube flavors. My friend got the taiyaki and like it too. Solid dessert option on the East side. The outdoor seating was kind of dirty, hence a star off for but overall good place. read more

Must visit if in Austin! This place is so pink and cute. The ice cream was so good! It had the right amount of sweetness, and I would definitely rank it in my top 3. The macaroons were delicious as well. Also, I appreciated the outdoor seating they had in the front and back. The only con is their limited parking. I hear they can get pretty busy on some days, but I was lucky to come on a day where it wasn't too crowded. Also, I recommend going early in the day because they sell out on certain items pretty fast. read more

I go here very often as i live nearby. The LEMON flavor is so good. If there is ever a lemon flavor available GET IT! i also get the Vietnamese iced coffee with boba and it always hits! the employees are always very sweet and helpful if you have questions. if you go during the week it's never too busy! closed on Mondays and i think Tuesdays as well! read more

I went back to try their ice cream. The ube was decent but the Vietnamese coffee ice cream didn't really taste like it at all. I was a bit disappointed. Their donuts are still super cute and delicious! I love that they added more outdoor seating. read more

A cute locally own dessert place in Austin! I visited Omg Squee with a couple of friends after seeing it on social media. During my visit, I tried the ube soft serve icecream with Nutella stuffed taiyaki. The ube flavor was really good and having the bits of cereal marshmallows added a nice crunch! I will say, one thing that is deterring me from giving 5 stars is that the icecream melts extremely FAST. Within a minute of walking out of the store it was dripping everywhere. For how much you pay, I was hoping the soft serve would have more integrity. One of my friends got the black sesame soft serve and that seemed to be a hit as well. However, after trying both flavors I believe Ube is best. If you are planning to come here, note two things. 1. There isn't a lot of parking. We had to park across the street near the railroad track. 2, The store is small. If you are going on the weekend you could expect to wait outside until more room becomes available. Overall, it's a solid spot if you want cute looking tasty icecream! read more
We went around 6 PM and most things were already sold out but we were able to get a fruity pebble macaron to top off our ube and matcha swirl soft serve. We added custard to the bottom of our taiyaki cone and it was the perfect addition! I'd love to go back at an earlier time to hopefully try their mochi donuts! read more
I have nothing but good things to say about OMG. If I lived in Austin I would be there every single day. No joke. Everything we ate were the most delicious things I've ever put in my mouth. You've not had a doughnut until you've been to Squee. The ice cream is equally amazing. So many unique flavors and combinations that hit the palate with joy! As cute and delicious as it appeared on Queer Eye S6E9. The pink building is a fun contrast against the greens and browns of Austin. My partner and I tried the Rose Raspberry macarons, Banana milk Ube Swirl Taiyaki sundae with custard and a scoop of red bean, and the Violet Crown drink. The macarons were the perfect density and were light in the flavor, not overly sweet or overpowering with one flavor over the other. I really enjoyed the banana milk soft serve, which was unexpected because I'm not usually into banana-flavored things, and the Violet Crown was unlike any other drink I've had before. It's yuzu lemonade topped with butterfly pea flower syrup, and it was very tart - refreshing for a hot Austin day. I don't recommend it if you don't like sour flavors, however. I would've gotten it with boba, but they were out, so I recommend going closer to opening than closing like we did, so you have more selection! read more

Everything I've ever wanted as a Cantonese Taiwanese kid . The fish waffle is crispy on the outside soft and very lightly sweetened on the inside and the purple yam ice cream soft serve was heaven. I got it right side up For the photo but if you get it upside down in the cup you get more soft serve PRO TIP. Hahaha add a macaroon on the other side do yourself a solid. That is all just go. We had to come here after seeing the bakery's makeover on Queer Eye! The storefront is adorable (the pink! the neon!), and there's seating at several picnic tables out front. We were lucky to avoid any lines. We ordered two macarons and eight mochi donuts. Everything is so meticulously decorated, it feels like a travesty to eat them. The macarons were fabulous and had a wonderful, chewy texture. We didn't love the mochi donuts as much: they're a bit denser than the "Pon de Ring" mochi donuts we're used to, and weren't as flavorful as we'd hoped. But overall, a wonderful place to visit, if only because their desserts are so damn cute. read more
The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is that when we went it wasn't long after the Austin Queer Eye season came out, so the line was very long. We probably waited 30-40 minutes to get to the order counter, but our food came out promptly from there. I had never had these kinds of desserts, and they were so cute. We were able to try quite a few treats, but it was a little expensive. I'm happy to pay that for such a cute small business. Waiting in line was fine because the store itself was adorable and there was so much to check out! The cashiers were some of the nicest people ever and despite the crowds I'm sure they'd been getting, they didn't act like it. read more
TLDR: Order ahead & skip the line for mochi donuts! I would be lying if I said Queer Eye didn't convince me to come here but I'm so glad I did because the mochi donuts were so cute and so delicious. Parking is pretty difficult to find in this area and the wait can be awhile. They do try to put a canopy up for people who are waiting outside. Once you are inside, the decor is super and it doesn't take too long to order. There is also plenty of seating outside! I thought the macarons were too sweet - the filling of the macaron just added to the sweetness so it was hard to put it down. Ube coffee had a very mild ube flavor. I did wish that the coffee had a stronger ube flavor and more depth. The donuts were a little on the sweet side as well but I thought the texture was perfect - super soft and I didn't mind it being a little sweet. For people mainly interested in the donuts, I highly recommend ordering online since they run out pretty quickly with how popular this place is. It takes about a week for the shop to fulfill the order so order a week before you intend on going. I've done this twice and preferred it this way since I knew I wasn't going to buy anything else. I was also able to skip the line and go straight to the pick up counter. Pre-ordered donuts were preselected so I didn't have to worry about showing up early to select flavors or running out of flavors. If you have to order other items that were not preordered, you still have to wait in line. Overall, I definitely recommend coming here for the donuts but definitely be smart and order a week in advance! read more

It was our first time here but it won't be our last. We visited on one of the hottest weekends in June and luckily there was no line outside. We did have a small wait (less than 10 mins) but we were inside in the AC. What a special place this is... a great mix of a lot of different drink and dessert options. We skipped drinks this round but got our fill of Takayaki sundaes, mochi donuts and macarons. Fun flavors for all: strawberry milk and ube sundaes. We also tried the chocolate, strawberry and ube Oreo mochi donuts. We rounded out our sampler with macarons: raspberry, fruity pebble and creme brûlée. Everything tasted so good StAff was kind and courteous. We will be back again! read more

Come for the mochi donuts, and probably the other baked goods (I didn't try them). My friend and I got the ube Oreo and earl grey, respectively. The ube Oreo had a lot going on, but not in a good way. Unfortunately the Oreo overpowered the ube. The earl grey, however, was chefs kiss. I was almost sad I had to share half with my friend. I'm still undecided on the matcha drinks. They're ok. Don't bother with the boba. The sad, hard, almost crunchy balls were most certainly not fresh. They severely lacked that satisfying chewiness. Their ube soft serve was exquisite. Wonderful texture and mild ube flavor that's not overly sweet and was perfectly refreshing. I already want to go back to order this again. I also tried two mochi donut flavors: lemon butter and coconut pandan. Both were soft and chewy, but I preferred the lemon butter donut because of the lemon icing. Such a cute spot, and there was no line when we went around 7 pm on a Saturday. All the parking spots at the front were taken (there are only a handful), but we kept driving down Bolm Road and parked in the dirt lot just around the corner. read more
I will probably write another review after trying more of their menu items, they have quite the variety - mochi donuts, ice cream with taiyaki, boba. We were in the area for East Austin Studio Tour so we decided to stop by for a quick dessert. My friend got the Ube Oreo flavor and I got he Vietnamese Coffee flavor. I had a bite of the Ube Orea flavor liked it, but I really enjoyed the Viet Coffee flavor even though I'm not big on sweets. Something about the mochi donut's density that makes it less sweet compared to a normal donut, which is airy and coated with sugar comparatively. The donuts are much smaller but they don't feel smaller because the mochi adds density and chewiness to the donut. I really appreciated the interesting flavor combinations as well. I would love to come here again and eventually try all the flavors and some of their other items as well! read more
Omg Indeed! At least I can imagine that exclamation is said a lot when visiting here. I came back here after an invite from friends, my first time here they had been serving mostly Taro based treats, but now it's great to see they've varied up the menu. Now with much more variety of baked goods and tasty drinks perfect for a quick refresher. Atmosphere: Top notch on the atmosphere, the inside is like an escape to dessert town complete with bright colors and nice smelling aromas. Complete with fancy employee attire and friendly attitudes. Food: Get those cameras ready as the designs on some of the foods are something worthy of sharing on the social media. Fortunately those cute designs have taste to back it up as well. My friends got an assortment of donuts, I would recommend the the mochi donuts, favorite flavor being the matcha. For refreshments for sure the Lychee tea, a great pick me up that isn't too overwhelming sweet. Service: As stated above very friendly and more than happy to make recommendations. Service is counter table style, so choose whatever suits your fancy. A charming dessert spot that certainly will have some people squee-ing "OMG", so it lives up to the name. Be sure to check their Instagram as they tend to rotate out flavors, but worth a try if you see something that peaks your interest read more
What a cute little spot on the East Side! OMG Squee rose to fame after it was featured on Queer Eye a few years back and has remained popular since. The line wasn't bad when we arrived on Sunday afternoon (6 people ahead of us) and moved quick. The inside is really small, so if the line is much longer, expect to be outside. Once you've got your order, they have seating directly out front of the store, and a patio with tables and umbrellas to the right of the store. There's a lot of great options on the menu, including soft serve, donuts and a some unique drinks! I opted for the seasonal pumpkin pie sundae and OMG (Squee - get it?!) it was incredible. The flavor was perfect and the taiyaki served on top was a great addition. I also had the Thai tea, which is always one of my favorites but I did find this one to be a little too sweet. They have a good selection of mochi donuts which I hadn't had before and was excited to try. I liked to texture and taste of the donut but found the flavor/toppings to be lacking. One was Mangonada (mango, chamoy and tajin) flavor which sounded great but really all we could taste was donut flavor. They post regularly with updates on their menu offerings via their socials - I'll be keeping an eye on new flavors and coming back! read more
