I had a terrific experience moving with Om Moving. I cannot say enough about them! Solomon and his crew arrived outside even before the move time, and promptly entered the apartment at the specified time. This really gave me peace of mind. Solomon was very kind, jovial, in good spirits on what was a stressful day for me. They were very careful with all of my belongings, placing them so it was easy for me to unpack and get situated. They were extremely patient and helpful when additional paperwork was needed from my building before we could move in. The movers were respectful, moved my things in a quick and orderly fashion while still being careful/attentive. And they even helped me with removal and installation my AC, as well as talked to my super on my behalf before going ahead and helping put it in themselves. They were good with my clothes, taking them out the closet and hanging them up. They even helped my relative who was staying with me get their luggage upstairs and made sure they had a comfortable place to sit. I can't really say enough about Solomon and the movers. The pickup costs were almost $6,000, we were quoted $3,000. You must know that they do not ship direct, they store it in a warehouse, and it ships on another truck at their convivence. When they arrived, they would not do any unloading until we gave the balance in cash, not customer friendly. A few items were broken, but what got us upset the most, is that my favorite leather recliner was lost and to this day, they could not find it. I paid over $800 for it and their customer service response is that you should have taken out the extra insurance. Once I file the claim with them, they do not go by the value but by the weight of the item at $.60/pound, I will be lucky to get $50 in return. I would not recommend them, find another reliable mover! read more

Started out ok for a long distant move , then everything fell out of control. Booked in advance ,gave them time to deliver long distant- then they decided they could deliver that wknd . Place was not ready for move in .I said stick to original date- No communication that day called and they didn't know where truck was ? Called for 4 days wondering where my furniture was- mgr still couldn't find driver or truck . Tried to get answers . Ignored our calls -finally driver called 4th day said he would be there before 3. They hired fly by night drivers which they said they do not do and ended up at home at 8;30- went to wrong address! and spoke very little English Kept trying to give me other people's furniture - had to literally chase after them for other part of sectional missing. rushed and threw things in apt , for they had another delivery- Broke a few things had to trash - left them on side of said we owed them more $ ,which we refused - Horrible company Never again read more

STAY AWAY FROM OM MOVING. Disrespectful customer service along with missing and damaged items. We had scheduled packing on a Thursday and moved on a Friday. We did not select the unpacking services with OM, so it took us until the following Thursday (6 days later) to have all of the boxes for a family of four unpacked and broken down. Upon breaking down the last boxes, we realized there was a large chunk taken out of our primary dresser (the box had been covering this). We also found that my jewelry and sunglass tree was not there. When we called to report these issues, UV rushed me off the phone and told me to just "text him the issues." I sent him a picture of the damage and outlined the missing jewelry and sunglasses. I had to call back multiple times (now speaking with Granger each time) to try and get an update on what happened to our items. Finally, UV returned my calls, said his movers said everything was moved and our items wouldn't be covered. He said my jewelry would not be covered because the movers told us they don't move jewelry. That was simply not true. They told us they would not individually wrap each piece of jewelry separately but would take it all in the box. UV even admitted they took the box. Saying he was told "they put that box inside of another box with backpacks and shoes, etc." We have every backpack we own, so that was clearly not the cause. He also told us our dressers would not be covered because "it's still usable." While that may be true, we shouldn't have to have damaged furniture due to OM's negligence. The worst part about the situation is not the material items lost or damaged. It was the absolute disregard and disrespect from UV. The conversation erupted into a screaming match because he constantly interrupted and railroaded me. My husband got on the phone when he heard UV screaming at me and UV quickly changed his tune to "okay well I'm sure I can figure something out with you." This didn't last long and he continued to interrupt and railroad my husband in the same manner. He even went so far as to insult us by calling us liars. We tipped our movers 22% (over $900 the day of the move) only to be treated like garbage when we discovered an issue. We entrusted OM with our personal items. They not only fell through, but also insulted us and dismissed us afterwards. I told him I would never be able give them a referral and would be writing this review. he responded "good do it." It truly is an experience I never want to relive. Avoid the drama and go with Oz (who may cost more but has a WAY better reputation for a clear reason). read more

I experienced nothing but substandard service. Customer service used racial overtones. I was quoted one price but on the day of my move the price was increased by 5 thousand dollars. When I questioned the significant increase the customer service rep did not know the driver had me on speaker and her words were oh these people probably don't have any money. Mind you I did not try to negotiate the price down I just wanted an explanation for the increase. Everyone claims they are the manager but when I questioned the company's integrity they suddenly became just a trucker. Several of my boxes were lost and several items were broken despite my marking the boxes GLASS. I would not recommend this company. They do not deliver what they promise. i would have given no starts but it didn't allow me that. I will start by saying they really want your business And demonstrate that during what I call the "hook" phone call. The person who sets up the delivery asks all the questions and I provide all the answers down to exactly what is being packed and nothing more. I receive a quote that needs a down payment to ensure that I am locked in. Well after that and all the info I was told I get a phone call from dispatch who absolutely did not speak with the "owner" about my move. They didn't show on time to pick up the items. Then I was asked if they can go straight to the new house directly from my old house so I said yes considering it was Monday so I should get it early. You would think. Well that didn't happen. My stuff never left the area for 7 days only to have truck issue and basically I received my things 5 days late. Oh and they also lost a few boxes! The woman I spoke with was nasty and acting as if she was doing me some kind of favor. The worst experience ever and would never recommend them to anyone for anything. The worst part is I called, emailed and sent texts to no avail. Oh and they charged me $400 extra which no one told me nor explained why. Workers refused to put on masks while going in and out of Narrow building hallways. We had workers from another unit as well as tenants squeezing by in narrow halls. They also refused to give me contact information for the company so I could call a supervisor. I had to find the information on the truck. Edit- to further clarify, the owner Yuval called me and stated that because his workers breathe so hard, the masks are not effective, therefor they will not wear them. There is a reason that I have used OM movers three times in the past five years. Despite the fact that I was nervous to move during August amidst COVID fears, Om once again proved to be an excellent choice for my NYC move. From start to finish, these guys are amazing. They helped me smoothly transition from a one bedroom in downtown Brooklyn to a nearby two bedroom in Bedford-Stuyvesant (to accommodate a need for space for my growing toddler). Om has proved that their attention to detail, professionalism, and high regards for safety are paramount to their service. Once again, I am amazed by their great communication on every level- from the week before the move to the last moments as they finished delivering my boxes. The movers wore masks at all times, even in the hot Brooklyn weather, and completed the move with courtesy and respect in a timely manner, protecting every valuable and making this the least stressful move of my 15 years in NYC. That is something during COVID! I even had the pleasure of working with Ivan as a head mover- my third time working with him. If a moving company has the same movers for years- that speaks highly as a company that treats their employees well. I used these guys to long distance move my 1 bed apartment from Queens to Philadelphia. I packed everything myself. The entire experience was great! The movers arrived right on time at 8:30am, loaded all my stuff in less than 30 minutes, drove 2.5 hours to Philly, and had everything unloaded by Noon. I couldn't believe it! I decided to go with Om because of their transparent pricing. Flat rate based off a facetime consultation, plus tolls, tip and any parking tickets. There was no nickle and diming at all, it was very professional and stress free. Their truck is huge so no concerns about things not fitting. John, the person I spoke with on the phone, was very friendly, easy to work with, and very available for my questions. I do not recommend. the experience started off fine, Yuval was professional and friendly over the phone, although his estimate came back a little high and he virtually disappeared the week before the move, I was willing to work with it because I was extremely busy during this move and also had faith OM would be highly professional. In the end, they were not, at all. Solomon made me feel incredibly uncomfortable--commenting on my clothes and asking me questions about my personal life. Another guy in the entourage was so noisy my super had to text me and ask me to get him to quiet down. The men moved fast and with little care. I shopped around with 5-6 different moving companies before choosing Om (which was referred by a friend). Several things stood out: 1. Tools: Om had the best website to manage and track my quote. It was easy to use, and then followed up with a Zoom walk-through. I felt confident that my quote was accurate, and it was really easy to work with them while juggling my busy schedule. 2. Price clarity: I'm the person that pulls all the quotes into a spreadsheet and runs calculations to makes sure I understand an apples-to-apples comparison. How Om communicates their pricing was the clearest, to know whats included and what's not, and feel confident that I won't be surprised with the final bill. 3. Responsiveness: Om was the fastest to reply. I also coincidentally lost my voice during this time, and Yuval was really great at leaning on email to coordinate, or hand signals during our Zoom walk through. 4. Customer Service & Flexibility: I wasn't sure if I would need temporary storage or not as I coordinated move in/out dates between two buildings. Yuval was incredibly flexible to help me think through the options, and I was able to plan for optionality until I got the dates finalized 1.5 weeks prior to moving day. During a stressful period, it was better because Yuval was empathetic and understood me. 5. Speed: In all prior moves, I expected it to be a full day's event. Ivan and his team showed up *early,* packed up our entire one bedroom apartment, deconstructed a storage bed, and moved us into our new spot... all done by 2pm. They moved twice as fast as other movers I've worked with in the past, plus the boxes were labeled with above-average specificity which made it easy for us to find things again as we slowly unpacked. I recently used Om Moving based on recommendations from fellow Brooklyn parents on Park Slope Parents. We had already temporarily relocated to Florida but could only bring the bare minimum at the time. Now we wanted to bring the rest of our belongings from our 2 bedroom Brooklyn apt down to Florida. I requested a quote and Yuval quickly contacted me to arrange a walk-through of our apartment. He noted each item we wanted to bring and made recommendations about some of our furniture that ended up saving us money. I received a detailed quote the next day. The movers came the following Monday and we received our items in Florida exactly one week later which was less than half the time quoted (up to 12 business days). Everything came in good condition and the movers did an excellent job breaking down our Peloton, crib, boxing our TV, etc. All the boxes and items were labeled so nothing would be missed and the furniture items were wrapped up and protected with blankets, etc. Their pricing was transparent and their communication was excellent. Their quote also ended up being cheaper than PODs which would have required us to load & unload all of our belongings ourselves. Om offered packing services as well which we did not end up utilizing but it was quoted at a very reasonable cost. In general, I would highly recommend Om Moving. We had to move everything in our two-story home from Brooklyn to Boston, all while navigating a toddler who wanted to drive the truck. This was a challenging job - I mean, not for these guys, it was easy for them. It seemed hard to us. The Om guys were incredibly good. They took care of our belongings, they were super pleasant to us and more importantly to my kid, who thought they were SO AWESOME. These guys were wonderful. We had a cross country move from Brooklyn, NY to Central Coast California (San Luis Obispo area). Pretty much everything we had was boxes, so it was pretty straightforward. The key to making something like this is communication: excellent! The movers on both ends were great: kind, courteous, and extremely professional. Here in CA, we are at the end of a tiny gravel road. The driver backed his 18-wheeler down the road. I couldn't believe he was so technically proficient. Incredibly nice guy too! Working with Yuval on the details is amazing. He is completely on top of things and provides great support. I'm sure he's dealt with people who are completely freaking out as moving is one of the most stressful things I can think of, but he is the voice of reason through it all. Yuval actually came to our apartment, wearing his mask, so that he could personally review our belongings. We chose to have Om do the packing. We moved from the UES to our 2 floor walnut up in Carroll gardens, Brooklyn recently and had the pleasure of having OM Movers do the packing and move for us. I say pleasure because right from the first evaulaution meeting to the move (and even helping us take away all the boxes) they were fantastic. Apart from the usual furniture and household stuff, we had a few pieces of antique furniture and a fully stocked bar with 70+ glasses - all recipes for potential disaster. But they did such a fantastic job that nothing broke or was misplaced. They were quick but took such good care of all our things. I needed a moving company that was totally professional, fast, easy and a good value. Om went above and beyond. - For the "pack for me" option, I paid a little more for so much more peace of mind. - The owner communicated with me throughout -- he even came to check-in on moving day - The guys that showed up to do the actual pack and move were all super professional and lovely people. I admit I was nervous about the transfer from Yuval (the owner) to the supervisor on move day, but it was all really wonderful with GREAT people. Also, I love Om's approach -- it feels like people are taken care of by Yuval (I could see it in everyone's easy demeanor with each other). Plus, they recognized moving is emotional and were all-around great. Their prices are within a decent range although admittedly they are not the very cheapest out there. But I believe you get what you pay for, and for just a little bit more change, the service is outstanding and top-notch, and I'm totally happy to pay more if it means the workers are also paid better and also to support a local small business. read more

These guys were fantastic movers! They showed up early and ready to work. They were super fast and efficient but also very careful, and used all the right gear and padding. No grumbling or complaining - not about the job, not about the lack of parking on our street, nothing. They navigated a small piano down a narrow hall and entry doorway and several flights of stairs. The team was delayed by 20 minutes however, they called to tell me it was because they were waiting for a spot to come available, they were kind enough to look for a spot to not get me a ticket and told me (despite the fact that I hadn't even noticed they were late!)
