Location is very convenient being located right at the corner from the Mountain View Caltrain station and Downtown MV. Food: Nothing to rave about, but definitely filling. I ordered the baklava and pita sandwiches (one gyro, one chicken). The baklava was very good and yummy, just wish it tasted a bit more homemade and was a bit crispier. The flavors were definitely there! The pita sandwiches are basically pita breads filled with salads and your choice of protein (combined with a side salad) Didn't think it was worth the $10. Unfortunately, the service is just so poor/poorly ran. Can not tell who you are supposed to be ordering from and why my togo order took 30+ minutes with not many other people at the time of my visit. got Food Poisoning here on Monday!!! Had the Florentine scramble around 10a and felt horribly sick around 1pm. it was the only meal I had in the last 20 or so hours. Doc told me that if I had food poisoning symptoms around 2-6hours after eating something it probably means the eggs or ingredients were left out too long before being cooked. I called the restaurant later that day to tell them. i hate to leave bad reviews for mom and pop shops and the scramble was tasty but leaving this negative review so they up their safety standards. read more

The staff are so nice and the atmosphere is very calm. The food is good, healthy, well portioned, and nicely plated. The coffee is smooth and wonderful. We went there with high expectations, but got very disappointed. If you have not tried the food in Istanbul, probably you will like this cafe. We tried borek, sutlac, simit and pogaca with tea for breakfast. unfortunately, the quality was much lower than similar food in Istanbul. Simit was hard, sutlac was too tick and pogaca was just Ok. Tea was Ok and it was not very special. The location and service were good, but the prices are high for the average quality food. Similar turkish cafes in Germany have much better food. read more

I use UberEats to deliver my breakfast from this place quite often. My favorite is Alfredo omelet and freshly squeezed orange juice. It's very tasty. Greek scramble is also very good. First of all, I love the food there. I had a hot dog for lunch. I also had a side order of a bagel. I put on salt, pepper, and ketchup. For dessert, I had a chocolate pudding. In addition, I like the decorations there. It has a T.V. that shows pictures from around the world. It also has a picture of a boy chasing a girl. It even has paintings of food and fruit. My parents come here a lot and swear by there coffee and desserts. They brought me here and I had some of the most amazing desert in mountain view. Everything is super fresh and the selections are awesome. I had a chocolate cake. Very moist and not to rich. We decided to come back and try there dinner. I have never been so excited to try a place before. I thought to myself there dessert is great there dinner has to be good too. Boy was I wrote. My pita was dry and not very full and my dads hamburger was a burger compared to something at Burger King... Hell I would have rather eaten there. Great staff and very nice. NOT KIDS FRIENDLY MENU They have kids menu and how they served us was very bad. We ordered fettuccini pasta from kids menu and they just threw less than half a plate of boiled fettuccini with no salt or butter for $9. It was so tasteless, no one could eat eat it. I then ordered a toast and hash brown and they served us just a toast and there was no sign of hash brown for 20 mins and my kid had finished eating the bread toast by then. The reason that gave us for the delay was there was a big queue ordering. I am VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED, will never return or recommend this place. When I expressed my disappointment, I was told: you could have spent 5 more dollars and taken a bigger plate. Just arrived home from Olympus and had to write my thoughts. The wife and I arrived at approximately 9:15 am this Sunday morning. As we approached the building, we noticed a large banner that read " Soft Opening". I do not know how long that banner has been there but it was not new. I thought nothing of a "soft opening" and excited about finding a newer breakfast place in the Southbay, thanks Yelp Search. I had read that Olympus had some traditional breakfast and Turkish breakfast items. I would say that Olympus Caffe is not a traditional breakfast place. It is the same business model as Sonoma Chicken, Aqui, Crepevine and others. Big sign with menu, order at counter, pay, get a number, sit and wait for food and/or drinks. However, the big difference between a traditional breakfast place and Olympus has a complete lack of condiments, eggs and service. I ordered a veggie scramble. Normally, a scramble is made with eggs and whatever else is ordered, mixed together and sauteed. Well, I got sauteed veggies, wrapped in a crepe and no eggs. When asked, it was stated "that is a veggie scramble". Well, blow me down, Popeye, scramble means something is mixed together with eggs not wrapped in pancake. I then asked for ketchup, you know the red stuff that goes on has browns, burger, fries, etc. The server looked at me like I had two heads and walked away. That was when I noticed that NOBODY had ketchup, jelly, jam or hot sauces. WTF, doesn't every place that serves eggs and hash browns have ketchup and hot sauce? I bit the bullet and stuffed the veggie crepe in my face. The wife was fine with the apple crepe that she ordered. Now for those of you that do not speak womanese, "fine" is defined "better not bring me back here or else". The food really wasn't bad. Technically it was pretty good, but add in the environment in which it is served, then it tends to deteriorate mentally. The pastries looked tasty and the coffee / tea drinks are right up there with the coffee houses. When I said that this a nontraditional breakfast place, what I really meant to say is "fatboys need not apply". The portions are small and the food is leaning toward the nutrition Nazis. There weren't any traditional breakfast meats in the traditional form nor were there any cholesterol busting plates. For those looking for a typical American breakfast, keep on moving. For those that blend in with the Starbuck, Pete's and Posh Bagel crowd, then you are right home. I noticed that the patrons of the Olympus Caffe were a ethnically and socially diverse crowd. Me and 4 other my friends came here this morning to have breakfast and ordered menemens, number 2,3 and number 5 on the picture on your left when you ordering food. I did t know what that means manamen but it was delicious. They gave us some honey for free with Turkish tea and hot cooked bread. So far we had 5 guys and the total came to less then a hundred bucks. Which is not expensive and affordable. I will recommend to anyone who loves Turkish food read more

Turkish breakfast at its best. This place has some amazing choice of breakfast options with and without Turkish flavor. My friend ordered Olympus special breakfast which is mostly omelet loaded with all kinds of meat and I got Feta Menemen which comes with a side of Pita Bread, it was absolutely delicious and loved every bite of it. Also got Kaymak & Bal which was a bit is disappointment as the honey is just any regular honey but pita was fresh and soft. They messed up my Coconut Mocha as I ordered iced and they got it cold but not too crazy about their drinks. Also just tried Mushroom Strudel from their bakery selection which was a huge disappointment, there was hardly any mushroom filling in it. Avoid it. After experiencing the SJ Greek a few weeks ago, decided to try out this cafe/bakery and see how it was. It was a great sunny day and got to downtown Mountain View, and even managed to find some free parking! Olympus Caffe & Bakery is just on the outside corner of MV downtown public parking, and the outside as well as its interior tables were filled. Menus are in a holder just outside the entrance; grab one and see what you want/like at the cashier, or fest your eyes at all the pastries behind the glass - there's a lot of good-looking stuff too. After ordering a veggie crepe for myself, along with a rice pudding (tried it in Spain and it's so sweet and delicious), a borek and an orange juice. It was all great but with their huge plates, nothing would fit on their tiny 2-foot square tables! I had to combine some of my ordered items onto the larger plate and get rid of the now-empty plates to make everything fit. I think they should get bigger tables and did mention it. The food was great though a bit pricey (SF-prices!), and though I asked to leave the avocado, tomato and bell peppers out of my crepe, there were three small sliced pieces of avocado inside. The portion also was very small; it may be impressive on their nice huge plates, but inside the crepe the ingredients of avocado (remembered I didn't ask for that), mushroom, jack cheese and onion, (and I saw tiny piece of what looked like zucchini) was quite lacking in portion (minus the items I didn't want of tomato, bell pepper but I think the addition of these items wouldn't have made it any more bigger in quantity) for a price of $7.95. The rice pudding was served in a small ceramic dish and was cold and delicious, but within an hour my stomach was upset.... these were the only items I ate this morning so..... a nice experience but still a disappointing first experience. read more

I like this place. I've gone for breakfast and had one of the omelettes which came with hash browns and toast. Very tasty and a reasonable portion (translation: not obscenely big as trendy in many breakfast places). Wife had the blueberry pancake and gave it a thumbs up. I particularly like this place because they offer some nice variations to the standard breakfast fare with Greek and Turkish influence. Different types of coffees and teas also available. Cool, a middle eastern / Turkish bakery. This place is on the north end of Castro St but I never knew it was here before. Met a friend for coffee. It was late afternoon so I actually didn't need too much caffeine. So I stuck with their orange tea. I don't see straight up orange tea very often so I had to get it. It was great. If you have it there, it's in a glass mug. Needed to finish it quickly as it'll get cold fast. I think there's also an apple tea. And they have food and pastries. Will be back soon. read more

Owners take no interest in this restaurant and have probably left it on servers, who make their own rules and routinely piss off customers without the owners getting to know about how they piss off customers. Today a server named Garso wanted to give beer 1/4 filled with froth and when we told him to throw the froth away, he gave 1/4 less beer in the glass and argued this is how much we give. There is hardly anyone going to restaurants due to Corona virus fears and on top of it all if servers will show such attitude, it is sure to hurt them even more. read more

I love their Turkish pastries and coffee (yes, I mean Turkish Coffee!). Make sure you try out their Baklava--it's much better than what I've had in most places, although I've never been to Turkey myself. They offer quick/friendly service and provide some outdoor seating which is great in the summer. While they have some good options for food, I'd recommend you get your meal elsewhere and stop here for some coffee and dessert--which is really what they excel at. Since they're located so close to the Mountain View Caltrain station, the restaurant is very easy to get to, which is a huge plus. read more

My bf and I came here after our mini hike and decided to check this place out. I ordered the falafel plate and baklava and my bf had some type of stewed chicken dish (forgot the name). We had the baklava first since all the pastries and baked goods are displayed and you can eat it first so we did. I just split one with him and it was so delicious. Probably the best I've had. Our food came out soon after and we dug in. I did notice we had good portions for what we got and knew we'd be satisfied. I enjoyed my hummus and salad but was disappointed that the falafels themselves are hard. They tasted good but the outside was too fried and hard for my liking. My bf seemed to like his dish ok and was raving about the rice it came with...I had a bite and must admit although it looks like plain white rice it's actually seasoned and tasted delicious. Overall an ok place but nothing amazing. I'd come back though to try out more pastries...those seemed more interesting to me. read more

Our company shuttle to the Caltrain was late one day, so I ended up stopping in here to kill the time before the next train. I didn't get anything fancy, but their chocolate chip cookie and cheesecake were awesome. I definitely want to go back and try more things from their extensive (and delicious looking) menu! Wifi connection was great; power outlets are plentiful. Prices are about what you'd expect on Castro St (not cheap; not crazy). I can't comment on what the atmosphere is like when it's busy, because I went at an off-peak time (around dinner), when it was just the right level of quiet but with plenty of company. The place features almost entirely two-seat tables that can be pushed together to make more, but I don't think it'd be very good for a group of more than 6. Wanted to go on a new food adventure on Castro one night and came upon this place. My friend and I had walked down all of Castro and seeing the "new" sign at Olympus, we decided to give the place a shot. First comment--wow the desserts. Such a stocked bakery! So many different cakes and desserts. This is definitely a place I'm going to stop by in the future if I need a cake! I ordered a chicken souvlaki and the apple crisp. Not bad. The pita was solid as was the chicken kebab. My salad had a very tangy citrus sauce drizzled all over it that was good but a bit too sour for me. Apple crisp was good, but again, nothing mindblowing. Friend got a Gazoz... which was pretty fantastic. It's advertised as Turkish Sprite but it's basically a clear color soda that tastes like a mixture of wonderful delicious fruits. Pretty perfect. The experience was fine, but nothing extraordinary. MIght come back in the future to try out the desserts. tldr; not bad, but there are better Mediterranean options on Castro read more

Came here with the girlfriend for some dessert. Ordered three things, in order of goodness: Kazandibi: Scalded congealed milk that comes in weird sheets. I have never had this dish before, so I have nothing to compare its quality to, but it had a good flavor from the milk / caramelized sugar / vanilla and a nice amount of sweetness. I would recommend you try this if, like me, you've never had this dish before. Revani: This is basically a piece of large cornbread soaked in a sugar syrup. I ordered it because it seemed to resemble a style of indian dessert that I like and I wanted to compare. Unlike its indian counterparts, there are no flavorings in the syrup (usually cardamom or rose in indian cuisine). It was literally like a piece of cornbread that was wet with sweetness...texturally a little bit like tres leches...but with the very simple flavor of semolina and sugar. There was a tiny bit of what I think was shredded coconut on top...they should have added a lot more of that! This was okay. I'm happy that I tried it, but probably wouldn't order it again. Creme Brulee Cheesecake: This was a joke. These guys should stop trying to make cheesecake. My girlfriend likened the whole thing to playdough, but I don't think that's fair...only the crust tasted like playdough. The innards were sweet but not especially flavorful but why-oh-why does it have the consistency of a thick paste? This thing is all wrong. Don't get cheesecake here. My star rating is for the food I had. I don't give or take stars based on service because I only care about the food, however I'll mention that the two guys working behind the counter were very nice and had good vibes. read more

My daughter and I come here every Sunday morning after visiting the Mountain View Farmers' Market. It's always busy and we've lucked out getting great tables outside. The food is good - and their cafes au lait are really wonderful. Service has been consistently very nice (see familiar faces from Pasta Q :) ) The cons: It is frustrating to have placed an order and watch other people who ordered 15 minutes after you get served before you. One particular Sunday, I went to get up to ask about our order and the female server (she wasn't a cashier) was rude - she cut me off and was very dismissive - as I was trying to explain our frustration. (She was the same woman who, the weekend prior, brought out the wrong wine on two separate occasions when my family was dining with another family.) In all the times we've been to Olympus, I've seen her only twice - thank goodness. A word to the wise: be patient. Many people walk up to the cashiers having absolutely no idea what they want despite menus being available in several spots in the restaurant, not to mention the big chalkboard above the cashiers stations. read more

This has been a recent lunch option for my coworkers & I since we work in downtown MV. They have an array of food choices to pick; which is nice because we all have different cravings. One thing I particularly enjoyed is their Beef Kebab. Comes with pita, side salad and butter rice (butter + rice is a dangerously delicious combo). Wow. What horrible service! Ordered at the till and I stupidly didn't keep the receipt. They forgot the burger and the main courses took ages to arrive. That's fine so far. It's busy so these things happen. It was the waiter's attitude accusing me of forgetting the order that made me lose my cool. Even if that was the case (which it bloody well wasn't! Because I distinctly remember ordering it!), just say sorry and order us a new one. Instead, he just kept making me look at the receipt saying it wasn't on there. So rude! What better way to celebrate my job offer than with a Turkish breakfast for lunch in Mountain View! While waiting, I noticed a quaint Olympus Robot bread maker with eyes and a mustache drawn on. I substituted fresh sliced avocado for the salami. This delicious dish comes with salami, boiled egg, sigara boregi, kasar & feta cheese, olives, tomato, cucumber, honey, butter, with pita. Just in case you're wondering what sigara boregi is, it is a Turkish cigar shaped pastry made with feta cheese and phyllo dough. I had fresh mint leaves added to my pot of Turkish tea and it was delightful and served in an elegant glass tea cup. The olives were just divine. The weather was perfect to partake in the pleasurable tastes of this meal outside on the patio under an umbrella. read more

Coming from a person who is used to quality Middle-eastern pastries, this place did not meet my expectations. The bottom of baklava was too soggy (too much honey I guess), and the cake napoleon tasted moldy and was hard from outside. Definatelty dont order those too, plus even though I had only ordered some tea and dessert, it took them like 15 minutes to bring my order which was pre-made. There are better Mediterranean places around for sure, check them out. read more
