Found where they left a problem and 4 calls over 3 months and still haven't had a visit to show the problem to. Did receive one call back but he said that is another department and he will pass that on. 1 month later still a no show. I called for a quote regarding some separation of my garage from the house. They said it was a minor issue and did not need any repairs but they recommended a root barrier in front of my house to prevent the roots from my tree to interfere with my foundation. I schedule a date for the installation, but for some reason they missed it or failed to show up. I called to reschedule and they were able to finish the job within a few hours. read more

I had a metal storage building whose foundation had dropped in one corner 2 inches due to a large tree. The crew came out to my place in Crosby and in one day had restored my foundation to a level condition. When they left there was no indication they were ever there. I am writing to express my deep disappointment with the recent hiring process I experienced with your company. After a phone call, a ride-along, and two Zoom meetings, I was told to wait two weeks due to your team's vacation. It has now been over three weeks, and I have been completely ghosted. During this period, my current employer found out about my job search, which has resulted in them pushing me out. I had high hopes for joining a company that prides itself on customer service and dedication, but it seems this only applies to paying customers. My entire family was excited about this opportunity, and now I am left embarrassed and in the difficult position of finding another job. I wish I hadn't been strung along and misled. Finally, I talked to Chris and was told the company went in another direction. I understand that decisions like this happen, but at the very least, candidates should be notified promptly instead of being left waiting for weeks. The company advertises professional technicians in their TV commercial but I was sent a sub-contractor. I even asked in advance when requesting a quote and I was told that they do not use sub-contractors. Olshan repeatedly sent a representative to my home that argued his point with me instead of listening and trying to help. The crown jewel in our commercial property portfolio is a former Fire Station built in the 1940s. The building characteristics that give it its retained charm also make it challenging to maintain. After a three year long troubleshooting process involving multiple trade professionals and a half-dozen foundation companies failing to yield a permanent solution or at least an accurate diagnostic for our problems, I asked Paul Howland if he would come look at one of my buildings. I knew him socially and from his truck that he worked for Olshan. His caveat that he won't be the cheapest was reassuring more than off-putting. We want best value, not best price, but above all wanted to understand what was causing our many issues there and how to fix them. His site visit with my building manager and the tenant representative was both personable and professional. His ability to take complex structural elements and explain them in an easy to understand way that leaves you feeling empowered rather than demeaned or undereducated is a fantastic quality in a sales professional. At the end of our meeting, he had earned our trust and given us new hope we had a potential path to permanent solutions. I found the bid to be thoughtfully prepared, comprehensive and informative, and while in the higher end of the range we anticipated based on previous work there and other foundation work across our portfolio of properties, it has been worth every dollar spent. Without question. The supportive infrastructure at Olshan kept us timely and thoroughly informed. They prepared us, so that we could prepare the tenant, for the full scope of work and completed it on schedule and within the given window, even when a necessary change order arose within our project. They keep the site clean and presentable at all times, and went so far as to replant a shrub in a bucket to keep it healthy while they completed the job and then replanted it at completion. They kept us informed throughout and answered the few questions I had thoroughly and with good information that fit what I had googled myself previously. As a building owner, I could not ask for more than: Accurate and thorough bid and project timeline Professional and personal attention from every person we interacted with throughout the organization, to the professionals in the actual holes to the white hats/project leaders. Respect for our time, property, and dollar. Peace of mind a successful outcome matters to Olshan as much as it does to me. I have had an appointment for over 3 weeks for Jason Everitt to come out on 12/24/24 at 11 AM to check my foundation. NO SHOW/NO CALL! I called and spoke with a clueless gal that placed me on hold for over 8 minutes to find out NOTHING. The receptionist said she tried calling Jason Everitt and his manager to find out what happened with his no call/show. The gal assured me that either Jason Everitt or his supervisor would call me back shortly even though she didn't reach either via phone. Thank you so very much for taking an entire day of pay away from me on Christmas eve. Please be aware that this company could care less about you or your schedule as they only care about YOUR MONEY. If they can't be bothered to show up for the estimate appointment, what assurance do we have that they will show up to preform the foundation repair let alone the warranty work. Olshan installed French drains and two sump pumps. $6578.75 the water comes into my house. When it rains hard it's like 5 gallons of water. They have come out three times to look at the problem but they have done nothing to fix the issue. I had to sign another contract with them for them to come on my property to install another drain and downspout but they haven't made arrangements to come back to fix the problem. I called Melissa and quickly had an appointment scheduled for the following day for a quote but also was able to email her a picture and I heard from Mike B. within an hour with a reasonable proposal to correct the issue. I called Melissa again and had an appointment scheduled quickly. However, the date was later than when we were hoping to list our house and within 5 minutes of hanging up with her, she called back and said a crew finished a different job early and could come by that afternoon. From the initial assessment they were extremely honest and didn't try to upsell me. I needed 5 foundation piers in the northwest corner of my house. I had a concrete patio and they provided an option to dig the piers from inside if I didn't want them cutting through the patio. I went with the outside digging since my basement was finished and I couldn't find the same tile. The team did a great job cleaning up and patching my patio. Through the entire process they said I could watch if I wanted, and provided frequent updates on their progress. I am 100% satisfied with the job they did. All of my doors close with ease now. I called Olshan Foundation to come out and examine an area that I believed to be a foundation issue. The company sent Joseph Bradley. Olshan has been in business many decades and it's the only company I would trust with such a major repair. Joseph examined the area as well as the foundation that he was able to see. Joseph provided expert information about foundations. He was honest and knowledgeable; and, he did not try to sell services that weren't needed. I appreciate and can recommend a company that does not try to take advantage of your lack of knowledge on a subject. He did offer some preventative services for my consideration. If I do have a problem in the future, I would call Olshan again. read more

The woman that answered the call seemed to be put out by even having to take the call and talk with me. She was distracted and wasn't paying attention to the call, missing several of the facts and reasons for my call. Eventually, decided that if this is the quality of initial contact, this would not be the company for me. He explained everything step by step, and informed us that we didn't need foundation work done at this time. He provided us with what to look for down the road that may signal us needing to have them back out to reinspect, but that our home's foundation was in good shape at this time. Steve was wonderful. He came out to do the free estimate and really put my mind at ease. He did a thorough inspection of the exterior and interior (both floors) and even checked the sloping of the foundation with his altimeter. He gave me invaluable advice regarding drainage and landscaping issues I should handle soon to prevent foundation damage and it felt like I had an "expert dad" giving me sound advice after kicking the tires of my first house. I want to say that considering all of the the hundreds of thousands of foundation repairs Olshan does across the country, I believe they are the best. You will see post that give them low ratings. I believe most people only post if something goes wrong. I have been very happy with them. They warned us that you level the house, you will probably have some plumbing issues as long as your plumbing is in the slab. The were so informative and told us what to expect along each step of the process. We found part of our home had been done in 1971 and they took almost half off of the price. We are 13 years down the road and our 60 year old home is still level. We did have to repair all of the plumbing and route it outside of my home. I think proportionately they have a very low dissatisfaction rate. I called them this week to get a copy of pier placement and my warrantee. They were able to retrieve it from 2004 and send it to me within seconds. read more

Do not hire. We had option pending on a home until they came out and said the foundation was off by .5". Yeah half an inch. They wanted $7k to fix it. then hire 4 or 5 other licensed companies to come out that said our home is 100% within the acceptable foundation tolerance. They said anyone telling you to lift a home .5" just wants the money!!! We even spoke to a structural engineer. Well, too late, he scared the buyers and we lost the sale over a nonissue. I will be reporting this company. Update: In response to his response. Every home has "movement." Even brand new builds with brand new foundations are off a half inch or MORE!
