They were honest and transparent about issues that actually needed to be done AND suggested what they would do if it was their own home. Others offered to level the house by digging all around, tearing concrete and porches, damaging the brick outside, and tried to sell me all new wood, which Jose and another home inspection confirmed had been replaced by previous owners already. Mr. Bill said that the leveling would cause more issues in the long term. He didn't mind doing more work if it was actually needed and produced the results. The estimates from the 3 companies came back with wide range of recommendations and costs. Tony from Star Techn came to do the estimate. He was very professional and informative and answered all of my questions. We picked Star Techn. Foundation Repair because of their estimate and recommendation made sense and not upselling with so many different options which added more costs. Flor was great in her responsive and constant communications with me from the beginning and throughout the project. Flor and Henry were able to work with my schedule to start the project. In addition to keeping the work around the house free of trash and organized, the crew really worked hard and well together in getting the project done in such short amount of time which exceeded my expectations. We have 2 large oak trees close to the front of the house. During the digging of the holes , the crew cut lots of the roots with some as large as one foot in diameter. Apparently, these tree roots have been moving towards the house causing the elevation and foundation issues at the front part of house. Because of discovering this issue, Flora informed me and recommended the metal tree root barrier service that they can do. After reviewing the process and considering protecting the investment of the house foundation from further future damage, we proceeded with the metal root barrier service. Glad we did this since we discovered more large roots encroaching the house that the crew had to cut off. From start to finish, the team was incredible. When I complained about it all I got from the Manager or Owner or whoever it was, was a oops, sorry shit happens. We talked to them. No true apology no we are so sorry. He even said this isn't the first time! Then it took them months to bill me for the work. When they finally did they never got around to sending the engineering report even though the engineer said it would be completed within 24 hours. Oh they also magically were somehow never able to pull a permit so they deducted money from my bill for that. They decided to not put one pilling in on installation day without telling me, however they did remove the charge for it. I guess that's honest. I just now 5 months later got my warranty paperwork. Very timely. I should have gone with Atlas Foundation Repair. I had forgotten to do any review until they just sent an email to provide a review. I am sure they are not happy now.

I had accepted the possibility that the building would need some foundation repairs because the sewer line underneath had been replaced three years earlier and I knew that could cause some foundation issues. Also there had been some settling in an upstairs apartment which caused some concern. He had an opportunity to tell me anything and I would have believed him. I feel the owner, David Yousefi, and regional manager, Kenneth Ferris, have not taken real responsibility for the outcome and instead offered explanations and proposals that would cost me more money while my house continues to fail. I no longer trust their assessments or methods, and I strongly urge other homeowners to get an independent structural engineer, multiple opinions, and every promise in writing before considering this company. They are unscrupulous and I would not use their service.
