To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing to formally document my experience with Two Sisters Foundation Repair and to request that the company review the conduct of the technician who was sent to my property. The following account reflects my own observations and opinions.
Appointment and Arrival
The appointment was scheduled for a Saturday, a day I specifically arranged to be available for. The technician arrived more than 30 minutes late without any prior notice. The vehicle that arrived bore no markings identifying it as belonging to Two Sisters Foundation Repair; instead, it displayed generic advertising slogans related to price-matching foundation repair services. This raised immediate concerns about whether the technician was affiliated with your company at all.
Technician Conduct
The technician who exited the vehicle did not provide a business card and gave only a first name, which none of the individuals present were able to recall afterward. His overall demeanor was dismissive and unprofessional.
Inspection Process
The technician spent only a few minutes inside the home using a measurement device that, to my understanding, requires calibration before each use according to publicly available product information. I did not observe this calibration take place. He then briefly walked the exterior of the property and took several photographs.
Findings and Estimate
Following the visit, I received an invoice with minimal supporting documentation, along with a level study indicating a differential of approximately 4 inches across the longest measured stretch of 60 feet (720 inches). By my calculation, this represents a deviation of less than 1%, which multiple public sources describe as within a normal and safe range (commonly cited thresholds range from 1-2%).
Despite this, I was quoted more than $9,000 for over 30 piers, including foundation penetration and pier installation beneath the home, as well as piers proposed beneath a wooden deck -- a scope of work I found surprising and, based on subsequent professional opinions, unwarranted.
Comparison to Other Estimates
I subsequently obtained evaluations from two additional foundation repair companies. Both:
Arrived on time and presented proper identification and business cards
Operated clearly marked company vehicles
Provided quotes for less than half the amount quoted by Two Sisters
Recommended addressing only the specific low area of the foundation, rather than a full foundation lift
Expressed surprise, and in one case amusement, at the scope and cost of the Two Sisters estimate -- particularly the recommendation to pier the deck
Conclusion
Based on this experience, I would strongly encourage any prospective customer to obtain at least two independent estimates before agreeing to any work with Two Sisters Foundation Repair. I am submitting this letter both as formal feedback to your company and as a matter of public record regarding my experience. read more
