They are inclusive and welcoming, and their selection is fantastic. The children's section is one of the best, in terms of inclusive books. My kiddo loved it when she was little and now enjoys the middle grades books. I love the selection of horror/mystery/true crime. One of my favorite things is to buy books that are staff picks. They have not let me down. Their staff highlights the best books. The pricing isn't lowest you'll find, but I'm ok with that because I'm supporting people and a message, and not a big chain. Also, they host a ton of book events. There's something for everyone!

Great selection of Vintage Science fiction paperbacks. Prices are fair. Definitely beats ordering…read moresingle issues online . My issue is the large modern price stickers. Yes, easily removable on a gloss surface, generally. HOWEVER, direct-to-paper pricing stickers are a complete dealbreaker for 1960s-1980s matte paperbacks. Vintage paperbacks from publishers like Ace, DAW, and Ballantine used uncoated covers. Trying to peel them off with alcohol or ever a dryer ruin the book's value and is heartbreaking for lovers of old paperbacks. It's unfortunate.

Never really had an issue at this Barnes and Noble. I've found gifts and plenty of children's…read morebooks. There are typically a good selection of kids books. The one negative I have had was purchasing a bargain priced book with a sound button on it. According to the backside of the book, you could replace the batteries. When it came time to do so, no no avail. The battery door was literally glued into the book so it couldn't be removed. We ended up cutting it out just to find out that you can't even open the speaker and the battery was never intended on being replaced. Therefore, I unknowingly purchased a "non-functioning" children's book and it was quite sad. B&N corporate only "helped" remedy this by issuing a refund. No explanation as to why it was acceptable to sell it without mentioning it was "non-functioning". P.S. when I mention non-functioning, of course the book is still readable. Just the battery never worked, even before I purchased it, which is likely why they were bargain priced to begin with. Unfortunate.

Decent deals on their legos and their books. It's nice to support local and smaller businesses that are getting harder and harder to find. Treat Yo (book)Shelf!…read more I visited Virginia's first bookstore and plant shop! The Birch Tree Bookstore is a woman-owned botanical bookstore in downtown Leesburg. Admittedly, I do not have a green thumb, so I could benefit from the plant clinic in store (I did see a couple anxiously bring in a succulent baby for the clinic to diagnose. ) They also repot and install climbing support. It's a bookstore as well, and there was a very nice selection of books and gifts (and of course books about plants). So many interests, so little time. The event was well run and we will definitely keep our eye on the calendar for future events.  Parking is convenient in nearby garages.
