This is one of my favorite local bookstores! There's so much selection , and everything is well organized! Every visit feels like a treasure hunt, and I always leave with a big stack of books I can't wait to read. Their selection is fantastic, with something for everyone, and the prices are some of the best you'll find. The owner/employee is always so kind and welcoming, which makes browsing even more enjoyable. My mom and I love coming here together, and it's become one of our favorite places to spend an afternoon. We also love donating books here because we genuinely enjoy supporting great local businesses like this one. If you're looking for affordable books, a wonderful selection, and friendly service, I can't recommend this bookstore enough. It's a true gem, and I'm so glad it's part of our community! read more

This bookstore is just a little place in a small strip center off RT 450 near RT 3 in Crofton but it has lots and lots of books. The nice part is that they're all categorized by subject matter and then by author...just like a real book store. They trade and accept books, too. Although not as frequently because they are usually filled to the brim. Nice little place for books in good condition for a decent "used" price. read more

A solid used book store. The price is rarely above $4.00, and everything is in good to very good condition. The place is packed with books to look through. The main problem is this: it feels as though the store was once organized very well. All the literature was in alphabetical order, nothing was on the floor in toppling stacks, everything was pristine -- but over the many years that the store has existed, no one has gone back in to tidy up that original job. So things are generally organized according to rules...but a lot of things are in the wrong spot on the shelf, the poetry section was a mess... My experience can probably be summed up this way: it was in the afternoon, no one else was in the store, and I was in the classic literature section. On top of the bookcases were stacks of unsorted books -- like, four or five precarious Jenga towers up there. So I removed another couple of misplaced books from a nearby stepladder, and started the work of removing all the books towers so I could peruse them. I then put them back in neater, sturdier stacks. It was not easy, but I did find a book of Einstein's essays in great condition for only $4.00. Also, when in the philosophy section, I found a few books that I bought -- but they had fallen behind the other books and been lost from view. I spent probably a good twenty minutes just fishing my hand around behind the books to see what else I could find. So it's a scavenger hunt sometimes. But I felt it was rewarding anyway. I'd suggest taking a bit better care of the merchandise though, and not leaving things in stacks on the floor. Maybe walk around your store before closing up, or just walk around during the day, tidying things up? I dunno. read more

This is one of the best used bookstores that I've been to in the DMV region. There is not a single book that I have found in this store that is over $4.00. I have found leather-bound books, college textbooks, coffee table art books, all in great condition and all under or at $4.00. It is, as other reviewers have mentioned, a little cramped due to too many piles of books everywhere. They are expanding into the next building currently, and should be done soon, which will take care of that problem. But honestly, when has too many books ever been an issue? read more

This is a great used bookstore located in the Crofton area off route 450. It is a little tricky to find as it is in a type of wandering, extensive strip mall and would be easy to miss. They have numerous rooms chock full of shelves of books - thousands of books, all quite extensive. They seemingly carry all genres - fiction and non-fiction. The prices are dirt cheap, e.g. $2 for mass market paperbacks and usually $4 for all others to include some really nice hardback books. Inside it is a bit of a warren of meandering rooms and shelves, more like an old style library than a bookstore. It is pretty well organized with rooms segregated by topics and authors in alphabetical order. It's the kind of place to find some real bargains. read more

Go to place for great low cost books, books are everywhere and easy to find by subject or author. So glad to have found them thanks to reviews here I knew I had to stop by and glad I did. Picked up 4 books on recipes and cooking seafood and only spent $15 bucks, I love getting a bargain like that. I will be back often as I saw several others that caught my eye. read more

Love this bookstore! Such a great selection of books to choose from - especially in the kids' section! We are a homeschooling family so books are a main budget category for us. Stocked up on some great series chapter books and stand alone favorites from big authors. My boys, 4 and 5, now beg to come here on a routine basis to find new treasures! The books we bought were in fabulous condition - some even like new. We spent $50 on months' worth of books for what we would have easily paid over $200 for at the big chain. They also recently expanded the bookstore so it doesn't feel crammed at all. Definitely worth a look! read more

When I entered into this bookstore, the first thought was "cramped". Now, don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE bookie, and I love used book stores, but when I first walked in, I was almost completely overwhelmed by the massive amount of books, and the minimal amount of space. That being said, I still took the time to walk down each aisle, and peruse their selections. Something that I could definitely say, is that their stock is plentiful, and surprisingly organized (at least, the books that are on the shelf are). The quality of the books I saw are very good too. Excellent condition. The genre classifications are a little too "general", so when I was looking for Young Adult fiction, I found I had to look in "chapter books". So that left it slightly confusing. I was also distracted by the mountains of unshelved books that I am quite certain are part of their inventory, but wasn't too sure if I wanted to risk plucking one from the mound o' books, lest the mountain come crashing down. Even though I walked away without making a purchase, I would still recommend this place for anyone looking for used books in great condition. It's at least worth a try! read more
