Walking in at 1 PM on a Thursday and there were a few customers enjoying the gaming area up front. Enjoyed browsing the collection of figures, magazines, comics and massive collection of games. The arcade machines are a nice touch and there is plenty to keep you entertained. Early 2000's rock was playing on their sound system and the staff all seemed to be very willing to help as I was able to easily leave a request for a callback if a specific NECA figure came into stock. The arcade machines included Arcade1UP machines alongside a Pandora Box DX multi arcade cabinet setup inside of a Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo machine which seemed to have working controls from my play testing. Marley Station is a pretty low traffic mall but I could easily see dropping by when I am in the area even thought I don't have much need to buy video games these days. Prices seemed pretty fair for this kind of store and in general felt like a main attraction for the entire mall.

None of the gamer stores we visited in Baltimore County can hold a candle to this place. Pay the toll and get your butt over to Ritchie Highway. You'll want to burst into tears of joy when you set foot into the store. I was under the impression that it was difficult to own/run a game store, or thats what the owners of those little shops would have me believe. But this place had loads of customers, and a bunch of other regulars in a side room used for gathering for in person play. Jeremy got his wish. A group of our friends are planning on getting together at least one Friday a month to play the Wheel of Time RPG. And he suckered me into joining. So he insisted that I pick out my own dice, rolling tray (the non-herbal kind), and a bag to hold the dice. He got some stickers and other stuff, too, cuz he's just so very into embracing the tabletop rpg gamer lifestyle. We joined the rewards program, so we'll obviously be back.

There is also an area to the right of the entrance where you can pay a $10 fee per person to play a large assortment of games they have in their board game room. I came in with a gift card, looking to purchase a new game for myself. I wasn't too sure what I wanted, so I asked an employee for some advice, and she was wonderful! She took the time to learn what types of games I enjoy playing and walked me through a few different recommendations, explaining how the gameplay worked for each of them. Everyone I interacted with at this store were such wonderful people. I'll definitely return in the future and bring along some friends to play in the game room!

The issue I have with this shop is that it doesn't often have much I'd be looking for. In their popular fiction section, it's almost desolate for any current bestsellers which to be is weird. I read obscure horror books and didn't see much of that except in the YA section. I understand how hard it is to run a business, especially an independent bookshop. BUT.. I feel they need to bring someone in to bring the shop into current times and maybe get some new materials in. A social media presence would also be great to pull in new customers and those customers will bring suggestions. A small coffee area would be cool, a kids section with a few little bookshelves and couches would be awesome. I really don't want to see this shop go away and I'm hoping for an uptick soon!

The associate helping me and my son was so patient and attentive even during a busy weekend. We traded a few cards for store credit and the gentleman appraising the cards was also very helpful. They were just as helpful to customers spending $100+ as they were to two young children who just wanted to talk about their own Pokemon cards.

I always feel rushed to look at cards even when I can get someone to help me. In their favor they DO keep a nice selection of sealed, raw cards, and slabs so there's that. But they DO NOT negotiate from their considerably higher than 'market' prices and don't give any breaks for buying with cash. I would say they are my local card shop of last resort. He called and was able to have it set aside. Once we arrived, the guy in electronics was very friendly and we got we went for... ...until I came across the women's clothing section and wanted to try on a blouse I saw on a mannequin. The lady in the area was super friendly and said I shouldn't hesitate to try something on (apparently, others have said the fitting room was closed even though it doesn't until the store closes). I tried on a couple sizes, but they didn't have my size on the rack. She was very helpful and checked to see if it was in stock at the store. I mentioned that it would be funny if it was on the mannequin, which it was! She was so sweet to take off the one on the mannequin and I was able to buy my blouse. :)
