Walking in at 1 PM on a Thursday and there were a few customers enjoying the gaming area up front. Enjoyed browsing the collection of figures, magazines, comics and massive collection of games. The arcade machines are a nice touch and there is plenty to keep you entertained. Early 2000's rock was playing on their sound system and the staff all seemed to be very willing to help as I was able to easily leave a request for a callback if a specific NECA figure came into stock. The arcade machines included Arcade1UP machines alongside a Pandora Box DX multi arcade cabinet setup inside of a Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo machine which seemed to have working controls from my play testing. Marley Station is a pretty low traffic mall but I could easily see dropping by when I am in the area even thought I don't have much need to buy video games these days. Prices seemed pretty fair for this kind of store and in general felt like a main attraction for the entire mall.

The handhelds are kept in a case at the counter, which would be fine if the case weren't in such rough shape -- one console was falling off its shelf and wedged against the side of the display, which isn't a great sign for how the stock is handled. The state of the store overall was honestly alarming to me. The employee I spoke with didn't help either. I asked a few simple questions about what they carry and how often they get it in, and every response was technically an answer without being remotely useful. I left knowing no more than when I came in. I'd much rather give my money to a local shop than to eBay, and I went in wanting to like this place. But a first impression like this one makes it hard to see myself coming back.

There's even a dedicated area for painting figures, which is fantastic. I've done that at home, and there's a lot of gear that you need for that: to do it in a setting with people buzzing around you, good lighting, nice chairs, and paints and brushes all around you. Honestly, it just feels like a better way to do it than sitting in your basement, unless that's your sort of thing. There's also a huge gaming area. I didn't go in there, but I think that's the kind of amenity that is essential for a store like this. Snacks, food, games, dice, puzzles. Not sure what else you could have at a place like this, other than perhaps a comic book area.

You'll want to burst into tears of joy when you set foot into the store. I was under the impression that it was difficult to own/run a game store, or thats what the owners of those little shops would have me believe. But this place had loads of customers, and a bunch of other regulars in a side room used for gathering for in person play. Jeremy got his wish. A group of our friends are planning on getting together at least one Friday a month to play the Wheel of Time RPG. And he suckered me into joining. So he insisted that I pick out my own dice, rolling tray (the non-herbal kind), and a bag to hold the dice. He got some stickers and other stuff, too, cuz he's just so very into embracing the tabletop rpg gamer lifestyle. We joined the rewards program, so we'll obviously be back.

The issue I have with this shop is that it doesn't often have much I'd be looking for. In their popular fiction section, it's almost desolate for any current bestsellers which to be is weird. I read obscure horror books and didn't see much of that except in the YA section. I understand how hard it is to run a business, especially an independent bookshop. BUT.. I feel they need to bring someone in to bring the shop into current times and maybe get some new materials in. A social media presence would also be great to pull in new customers and those customers will bring suggestions. A small coffee area would be cool, a kids section with a few little bookshelves and couches would be awesome. I really don't want to see this shop go away and I'm hoping for an uptick soon!

After being upset I went to the post office to send the wrong cards back. The envelope that came to…read moreme to have those cards sent back was stamped and with the return address. The post office wouldn't take it. I had to call the store and tell them they would have to sent a box. The post office here did this to me once before with sending a card that was pop up style and they told me it was too thick to be in an envelope. I had to spend $12 to $13 to send it out. It was more expensive than the card in it. After contacting the stole while I was at the post office we came to an agreement and they let me keep the cards. We are good and I will make sure to continue to shop here. Thank you guys for making this right.

The associate helping me and my son was so patient and attentive even during a busy weekend. We traded a few cards for store credit and the gentleman appraising the cards was also very helpful. They were just as helpful to customers spending $100+ as they were to two young children who just wanted to talk about their own Pokemon cards.

We had a great experience here recently in the clothing and electronics departments…read more It was pretty late in the evening, and the mister decides that he "needed" to buy and pick up a raspberry pi that day, which was only available at this target location. He called and was able to have it set aside. Once we arrived, the guy in electronics was very friendly and we got we went for... ...until I came across the women's clothing section and wanted to try on a blouse I saw on a mannequin. The lady in the area was super friendly and said I shouldn't hesitate to try something on (apparently, others have said the fitting room was closed even though it doesn't until the store closes). I tried on a couple sizes, but they didn't have my size on the rack. She was very helpful and checked to see if it was in stock at the store. I mentioned that it would be funny if it was on the mannequin, which it was! She was so sweet to take off the one on the mannequin and I was able to buy my blouse. :)
