The guy managing the store was very helpful! There were different items for sale and I didn't know what I needed. He explained the differences between all of the items and he helped me get what I needed for my nephew. I also learned that pre-COVID the store would host Pokémon games in one of the rooms. I think that's awesome that the store hosted games where the community could get together. I hope they resume once the COVID era ends. (Do adults play Pokémon? After talking to him, I think it would be fun to learn.) Since this was my first time in a sport card shop, I was even able to get a small pack of baseball cards for my friend who collects them. The store was bright and cheery and had a happy atmosphere. I had a great customer service experience and would definitely go there again and recommend it to anyone.

I came in with a gift card, looking to purchase a new game for myself. I wasn't too sure what I wanted, so I asked an employee for some advice, and she was wonderful! She took the time to learn what types of games I enjoy playing and walked me through a few different recommendations, explaining how the gameplay worked for each of them. After waiting beyond the expected timeframe, I called once to check on the status of my order. Instead of receiving assistance, the person on the phone seemed irritated that I was simply asking for an update. I am not asking for free parts or special treatment -- I am paying for my items. As a customer, it is completely reasonable to expect clear communication and respectful service, especially when an order is delayed. It's frustrating to feel like I'm inconveniencing staff by checking on something I paid for. I drive 30-40 minutes to support this store and was even planning to purchase a new X-Maxx, but after this experience, I've decided not to move forward with that purchase. For comparison, I've had consistently positive experiences at HobbyTown, where the staff is helpful, respectful, and willing to assist customers -- especially those who are newer to the hobby. That level of professionalism makes a big difference and is the reason I'm more inclined to continue spending my money there. Customer service matters.
