I took my 12 year old, and she thought there was a small section appropriate for her, but for me... oh my gosh, I withheld because there were so many gems that I wanted to bring home but held back so that others could enjoy the selection, too. I'm talking hardcover, sprayed edges Onyx Storm for 10 dollars. How is that even possible??? Needless to say, we will absolutely be back, even with a 35 minute one way drive. Oh, it's in a totally nondescript warehouse space but is clearly branded. They also take trade ins, which I'm guessing is part of how they curate their selection. Lots on BOTM offerings. Go, just go. Service was fine although I didn't really talk to many people while there (was more preoccupied with finding the books and checking them out). I'd say this place has great value as the books i got (3) were charged a total of just under $5. I can see why the staff put up flyers stating to be mindful with how many books the customers get as they're priced pretty low, allowing you to collect a decent amount. After visiting nearby ZavaZone with our seven-year-old daughter, we stopped into Second Story for a few minutes, which easily turned into an hour. Every book is 50% off. We left with 15 books for just under $21. The books are well organized and maps help navigate visitors to each section, but know that the warehouse's narrow book aisles can get cramped. It adds to the appeal! There are even harder-to-find rooms with other items like posters for sale. They also sell CDs and DVDs. Staff are helpful. I lost my wallet and within an hour a staff member messaged me on Facebook letting me know they found it and it was safe at the checkout desk. If you have used books, Second Story Books buys them from people.

Cashier was super helpful and nice even though my book didn't come up in the database. The entire collection in the store seemed super fancy and all hardcover and even the book I need was a lot fancier than the usual copies. It had a slide out hard cover and gold lettering. Didn't seem like the prices were high but they were having a 40% off all literature that day so I got a great deal! Definitely recommend.

I'm so glad that I did. I am a better, more enlightened person for having done so by visiting unique and wonderful places like the Kelmscott and Royal Books. So go ahead! Live a little! Put your iPhone and Crackberry away for a nanosec' and see what several hundred years of paper, ink, leather, linen, and movable type are capable of producing. Once you open an old book with real Italian marbled paper lining its inside cover - let alone one printed on vellum - you will realize the limits of e-reading and e-mailing. These things have their essential places in the 21st century, but so, too, do rare, used, and artisinal books made from tree pulp and cotton.

Was not even in the area and I just happened to drop by here by accident. From outside, you see…read moresome giant crystals in the window display, and that itself is enough to get the attention of those who partake in the elements. I parked a little ways down so I could be about halfway between my real destination and the crystal shop. I stepped inside and was shocked by how big it was! Like wow. Small rocks, medium rocks, big rocks, BIGGER rocks, books, incense, oils, necklaces, rings, spiritual statues... they truly had a lot. What made it even better was the late 90s / early 00s R&B they were playing. This time I wasn't quite on a mission, but it was still such a blast to explore everything that they had to offer. I think there was only one staff member around -- she was floating on the floor and when I approached the register (I did end up finding something) she immediately came over. She was very sweet. I am eager to return and have a more thorough look through everything. Great store for this kind of stuff, I highly recommend!
