Located in the Hampden section of Bmore, Atomic Books would easily satisfy the inner book nerd in you (*raises hand...). Upon entering, the ambiance was chill with music playing over the speaker with just enough volume to not get in the way of perusing the incredible book collection. The books are sectioned according to genre, which makes for ease in looking for a specific topic. They have a magazine section as well with titles you won't find in an ordinary newsstand (a magazine titled "Bomb"?.... I'm impressed). The cost of the books varied, but was not so to bust your budget. They also have a selection of comic books in addition to t-shirts and items with the Atomic Books logo. The staff were pleasant and customers who came in seemed to be locals supporting a great small business. I liked that. And don't forget I mentioned a bar....located in the rear....serving adult libations. Can you imagine yourself purchasing a favorite book and settling in at one of the seats in the bar sipping on your favorite drink? Or playing the video game back there? I could and would have...if I had the time! All in all, a cool neighborhood bookstore/bar to chill out, grab a book, and a drink.

We had time to kill before a dinner reservation nearby so we walked in to see if we could find a book to bring with us to the beach. After searching through the shelves and seeing all that Atomic Books has to offer, my husband and I both found something that piqued our interest. I love shopping small and supporting local, and Atomic Books has classic Baltimore charm mixed with the unique punk vibes of Hamden. The next time I'm around grabbing a bite, I think I'll stop in and buy another book to enjoy.

I ALMOST missed this treasure trove. There is a lot to take in, so take your time. There were a ton of items I would have considered if I didn't come with specific goals in mind. There were a variety of cards that were beautiful, funny, original or a combination of those things. The owner is very helpful and listening to her interact with a regular was very heart warming. The jewelry selection is BEAUTIFUL. The rings are in point, sweet necklaces and some earrings that had me tempted to put some holes in my lobes. Chatted with the owner for a bit who was super helpful and nice. Definitely found a gift and saw other potential gift ideas. This is another small bit mighty place. The owner makes amazing use of the space and everything is curated so nicely. I know items tend to change based on the season so I'll make sure to pop back in soon to see what else comes in.

She also has a great selection of new books for children. I also like to order new books from Jen. You might not get them by the next day, but it's worth it to me to support this wonderful spot. Not only is it in Catonsville, but it's an independently owned company. Independent stores are my favorite type of capitalism. Not to mention - Jen is super! I like to give my money to good people rather than to Amazon, who will be laying 500,00 off in the next few years. I hope more of my neighbors will do the same so we don't ever lose this gem!

I ordered a breakfast burrito, and it's been three days since I had it and I'm still craving the taste. Who knew you could make tofu taste so good? I didn't like my vanilla iced coffee as much, but that was my fault because I should have asked for more vanilla flavoring. I really appreciated how much parking there was on a Sunday afternoon, and in my opinion, it's one of the best co working spaces in Baltimore. The shop is located in the heart of Glyndon next-door to a delicious candy store and has decent parking. I was immediately greeted by the shop's friendly dog though was completely ignored by the other staff. I overheard the other custoners receiving warm greetings and thought when they left the shop, perhaps staff would be more solicitous. However, I wasn't assisted for at least 15 minutes after the other guests left. It's pretty surprising in the customer service industry. When it came to trying on an item, the staff just pointed at the dressing room and said "over there." One staff member, presumably the owner, did provide information about the polish ceramic items after I'd been pursuing for a while. Overall, this shop has a nice assortment of items and is pleasantly appointed, though could improve in customer service.

Along with Pied Piper in Cross Keys, it's one of the very best places in the area for children's clothing, toys, and gifts. My only constructive feedback is about the customer service approach. The staff is warm and friendly, but the level of attentiveness can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming, especially for shoppers who prefer to browse before being approached. On one visit, we even overheard a comment between staff members about commissions, which felt out of place in front of customers. None of this takes away from how great the store is--it's a fantastic local shop with beautiful products. A slightly softer, more relaxed customer service style would make an already great shopping experience even better. We love WEECHIC and will continue to shop here.
