I'm not a huge Indian fan, but my husband is. So much so that each time we go in to olives we're asked about his family, because he and his father both go in so often.
While just a glance at the menu may lead you to think that the vegetarian options are very limited, it is not the case. If you ask the friendly servers, they will be happy to make almost any dish on the menu vegetarian. They will either substitute with paneer or vegetables.
The food is some of the best Indian food I've had. The korma is excellent and creamy, and the rogan is tomato-ey and a good option if you aren't into dishes that are too heavily spiced. My favourite dish is the paneer tandoor shashlik. It is flavourful, juicy because of the tomatoes and just all around delicious. I love getting a garlic naan with it and making mini wraps in my hand. There is also a meat option which I'm sure is just as good. I would also highly recommend the brinjal bhaji which is chopped and stewed aubergine. It is an example of how delicious aubergine can be. Beautifully soft and almost buttery and not at all spongey. My husband and all his friends rave about the prawn puree (which is not a purée as I feared). It has almost reached cult status in our group!
The actual restaurant itself doesn't have the best atmosphere and the toilets are downright frightening, but don't let this put you off. You will usually have the run of the place. The food more than makes up for it!
