We live a few blocks away, but moved to the neighborhood during Covid so it took a while for us to eat here. This is a buffet style steak house, where you pay by the pound. While it's nothing fancy, it is cute, clean, and everyone is very friendly. You grab a plate, weigh it, get drinks(they have a variety of soft drinks and wine), and pay at the end (I'm assuming so you'll be tempted to have seconds or get one of their beautiful desserts!) The sides range from salads to rice and beans, different stews, and plantains. They even had sushi the last time we were there (??) but we didn't try it. I love the steamed asparagus and the beef stewed with red wine and mushrooms-- so delicious! But, let's be real, you come here for the meat. In the back they have the rotisserie wall with every kind of chicken, sausage, beef, lamb, etc you could possibly imagine. You tell the guy what you want, how you want it cooked, and how much you want (if you don't specify you'll get a mountain of each!). Don't forget to bring a dollar or two to tip the meat man, make sure to ask for some salt which makes the flavors sing, and load up on sides of chimichurri and those tiny peppers (which I put in separate containers so it doesn't add to my per pound weight)!! This place has always been a win, especially if you're looking for a high protein diet. It's reasonably priced for what you get, you can take home your left overs, and the deserts are GREAT (flan, tres leches, rice pudding are all amazing!)!!

    Burned Food

Just order by uber eats and food got home burned and low quality. They protein for sure was a about to turn black and before putting it in the trash they just put it in the next uber eats order. Since living not that far when to restaurant and show the meal and ask for a replacement because it was clearly burn and they even agreed that it was indeed burned. They said they were not gonna exchange nothing because it was in the app. Can somebody explain how they dispatch a low quality meal and don't take responsibility of what they knew was not serve right. Refund was not made and exchange was not made to not "lose a few cents" when they food cost a total of almost $35.

Decided to have a little Brazilian food tonight. Went on yelp and located this little place on Chelsea Dt in East Boston. They actually had a small parking area across the street which made going there easy. As I entered I was greeted by 2 very nice Brazilian girls working at the counter. I was instructed to choose what I like and bring it to them to weigh in as they charge by the pound. This option is ok for takeout but I went for the whole Shabang . The all you can eat buffet for $19.99. I started with a corn pie and a meat pie, they are tiny and definitely homemade and tasted nice. For my first dish I opted for white rice topped with pinto beans in a nice sauce and some tomato and beet from the buffet and for my first meat choices I had a chicken wing which I found to be a bit salty but cooked perfect, along with a nice beef rib seasoned nicely and one spicy pork sausage that will knock your socks off. I paired this with a corona with a lime, they brought me a mug the beer and a side dish with lime. Nice touch from a little neighborhood joint. On to plate number 2 - A very sweet piece of plantain which melted in my mouth, Romain topped with a mixed chopped tomato type salad was decent, sautéed collard greens seasoned and cook to perfection along with another tony meat pie had to get a second! For the next round of meat I unfortunately Tried the lamb it seem to be off color and didn't taste good at all couldn't eat it I think he gave me liver by mistake????? The top sirloin on the other hand was cooked fabulously I requested rare and it was delicious. Seeing that it was an all you can eat buffet, I thought I would challenge my stomach to a 3rd serving, I went for a couple winglets, a little bit more top sirloin another spicy pork sausage only because it was the best! And finally some roasted pineapple that was beyond good. I really enjoyed the food. For a little neighborhood Brazilian BBQ Joint I would have to give it a very strong 4 stars. They would have gotten a 5 but one of the waitresses/ counter girls kept kissing her boyfriend in the seated eating area. Very bad visual while trying to relax and enjoy my BBQ. I guess if she was kissing me they may have gotten the extra star ha ha ha.

Clockwise: Tres leches(top left) , tiramisu, rice pudding, flan

This place had plenty of space between tables for social distancing! The meat was very juicy and flavorful. My favorite was the top sirloin. We tried 4 different desserts and the tres leches was super light and the tiramisu was great. The flan was a little too dense for my liking. Overall, the service, food, and drinks were great.

BEST, MOST AUTHENTIC, and CHEAPEST AYCE BRAZILIAN BBQ EVER! (yes better than Fogo de Chao & Plataforma Churrascaria Rodizio) only $16.99 for all you can eat meat & buffet, one drink, AND a dessert definitely a GEM IN THE ROUGH they offer AYCE or pay-by-the-pound! INSANE VARIETY of both buffet items, roasting meats & desserts!! NOTE: for AYCE you can choose if you want them to come to your table w/ the meats OR you can go up to the meat counter yourself (which i prefer) SOME items in the buffet: fruits, rice, seafood rice YUM, fish stew, fish sauce, 3 types of beans (bean sauce like refried beans was my fav!), beef stews, chicken, salads galore, sushi, fries, fried yuca, steamed veggies, spaghetti, etc etc my favorite bbq meats: the picanha, chicken hearts (best i've ever had), beef ribs & TENDER lamb! WARNING: the man in charge of the meat is very generous so if you only want a small piece LET IT BE KNOWN for DESSERT, after they allowed us to sample, we settled on the flan which was very thick & bolo de coco (like german chocolate cake meets tres leches) SO MOIST... & if you're too full for dessert you can take it to-GO my cashew juice was interesting, but i probably wouldn't get it again STAFF WAS SO NICE AND ACCOMMODATING even though this was a buffet!

Comparable to upscale Brazilian steakhouses such as Fogo de Chao and Texas de Brazil holistically. Oliveira's offers cheaper food (29 for all you can eat or around 9 per pound of food compared to around 50 at an upscale place). The meat itself is comparable. Olveira's seemed like it offers more variety as well. They have hot dishes such as beef stew with yuca and fish. Also included are a salad bar (included) and dessert section which is a la carte. The brigadeiros, cold chocolate and evaporated milk balls, are good, but over sweet. I also appreciated how you go to the churrasco area instead of them bringing it to you. Many times at Fogo or Texas de Brazil I had to aggressively wave down the meat people. One thing that is different is location. The area was cramped and the furniture looked old and slightly dirty. Also, some of the hot dishes were cold by the time I ate them.

Brazilian brew to wash it down.

So I may have posted on the wrong spot, but they appear to be the same. Four of my buddies brought me out for a birthday man-fest and Olivera's has the right tone. The odd grunts of Brazilian soap operas blare on the big screen television. You sit down at a clean-enough table. You get down to business. We all ordered the all-you-can-eat dinner. Just think endless rounds of plates. I went to check out the salad bar, snagged some freshly grilled plantains, but quickly realized I was in the wrong place. The skewers are where the magic happens. The waitress treated us well, but the "cook" (or should he be called the skewer-monger?) really made the night. He enjoyed our curiosity in his culinary offerings and catered to our enthusiasm. He must have walked over to our table with a new meat style ever 2-5 minutes... By the end of the first half an hour we realized we better slow down or we'd be comatosed in no time. With all things said and done, we had 14 different styles of cooked meats followed by a freaking delicious slice of chocolate cake over a couple hours of banter and BBQ euphoria. If you're on a diet or sensitive to salt, you're weak. Also, go somewhere else or you will regret your life. If you're hungry, with great friends and you've got an inkling for a dozen+ skewered meats, get on it.

Flank steak, beef rib, and picanha!

4.5 stars.. Probably one of the BEST brazilian BBQ joints I've been to.. It surpasses fogo de chao AND plataforma rodizio in taste and authenticity! Each dish tastes authentic and LEGIT just like brazilian food should taste! Incredible price ($16.99 for ayce meat, side dishes, one drink, and one dessert)! Notable dishes: Seafood rice, bean sauce, flank steak, picanha, FLAN. I've never had flan this thick and flavorful before.. AND it's included in the buffet price! AND the waitress who served us was SUCH a sweetheart! You can tell the workers put their hearts into this restaurant! OH a few tips: -when you ask for some more meat, THEY SLICE YOU A BUTT TON, so if you only want a small portion, TELL THEM, otherwise you'll get wayy more than you actually want! -pretty much all the dishes have some type of meat in them (even the bean sauce has chunks of pork in it), so if you don't like meat, STAY AWAY! -You can take the dessert to go if the buffet gave you the itis a little early!

My fourth Dine Out Boston 2026 Winter visit: Alma Gaucha, the Brazilian rodizio, with colleagues…read more The meat was delicious, the salad station was plentiful, and we ate until we were stuffed... Meat Serving: My favorites were all kinds of beef! The Premium of Top Sirloin and Top Sirloin with Garlic were extremely juicy and tender, as you can see. I recommended medium rare, and don't cook it more than medium. Tri-Tip Steak and Tri-Tip Steak with Cheese were relatively coarse, but had a layer of fat that made them more flavorful. I recommended medium; medium-well would be too dry. Lamb Steak was juicy and flavorful, with no gamey taste, so eat with confidence. Chicken Wrapped with Bacon and Chicken Legs were garlic-flavored, but the meat was a bit tough. Cheese with Honey was a calorie bomb but really delicious; the cheese had a slightly gamey taste, and the more honey, the better. Most importantly, the grilled meats here are just the right amount of salty; only the Chicken Heart and Pork Sausage were very salty. There were various sauces to choose from, but I personally recommend the oily and slightly sour Chimichurri, or simply salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Salad Station: Foods were plentiful and all very fresh and of good quality. My favorite was the Apple Salad, which was like the old-fashioned "fruit and salad dressing" version from my childhood--it was nostalgic and had a wonderfully refreshing sweet and sour taste. The Smoked Trout was tender and had a wonderfully flavorful fat, but considering it from freshwater , I only had a small taste. The Clam Chowder had a rich creaminess that perfectly complemented the umami of the clams. The Bruschetta, with its creamy sweetness from roasted garlic paired with the crispy bread, was a delightful little treat. Side Dishes: My personal favorite was the Mashed Potatoes, fried potato balls with a crispy, airy exterior and a creamy filling. The Yucca Croquette was like a tapioca version of Pão de Queijo, with the same crispy crust and mochi-like texture, but a milder cheese flavor. The Caramelized Bananas were too soft and mushy; cooked bananas always have a rotten taste. The Crispy Polenta was very hard, mainly cornstarch, and had little flavor. Desserts: The waiter's recommendation, the Red Velvet Cake, was definitely on point. It was less sweet and had a gentler sweetness, more suitable for Chinese tastes. If you like it sweeter, get more of the part with white chocolate sauce. The Mango Cake had a very smooth mousse and a rich mango flavor. The Keylime Pie was too sweet and sour, too strong a flavor.

It has been consistent for the most part in terms of their food selection, but this time they did not offer Fraldinha or Alcatra anymore on their Dine Out Boston menu. Their cold/hot food bar is better than Fogo's selection by far. It seemed there were more limited meats that came by especially since we were seated close to the entrance of the restaurant despite my card being green the whole time. I would expect everything on the limited menu to show up at least once and the wait time for specific cuts of meat took way too long even with requesting a cut from the staff. Somehow the cheese with honey never shows up either. I went during weekday lunch and the restaurant was semi-busy in the front half of the place up until the end of my visit in which there were only a few tables left and I still didn't get any additional Picanha. They came around with the cheaper alternatives more often. The meats I was served were seasoned well, but the variation in temperature for cuts I got were somewhat off putting despite requesting medium rare each time. There were some perfect temps to start off, but half the time they cut me thin slices of well done meat. That was my table's experience this time around unfortunately. I'd come back again since I've had many better experiences here over the years and I hope this was a fluke and not the fact that it has gone downhill.

Thank you, Muqueca, for warming me up…read more Fish with Shrimp Moqueca: Made in the Capixaba recipe, this version replaced red palm oil and coconut milkthem with tomatoes--which happened to be my favorite. The broth was warm, flavorful, and refreshing. The initial notes are the sweetness of onions and bell peppers, followed by the delicate aroma of cilantro, leaving a clean taste impression. The whitefish fillets are tender and flavorful, yet still retain a subtle chewiness. The Pirão sauce, made with the fish broth and tapioca starch, was rich and thick, enhancing both the saltiness and umami, even reminiscent of Cantonese style abalone sauce. The two flavors were distinct yet complementary, a true delight with rice--though fresh, higher-quality Thai jasmine rice would be better. The earthenware pot, bearing the marks of time, kept the food warm; the portion was also very generous, perfect for sharing. I ended up taking some home for a second meal. Flan: Although I was quite full, the deliciousness of the moqueca piqued my interest in trying dessert. The pudding had a smooth and delicate texture, unlike the often sticky flaky texture of supermarket flans. The egg flavor wasn't strong, while the caramel syrup was rich and smooth, with an irresistible initial bitterness followed by a delightful sweetness. Plus, the syrup was generous, making it wonderful to coat every slice of cake in it. No wonder it's their signature dessert. Hot Sauce: The homemade hot sauce was highly recommended by my server. It didn't look very spicy, but it was far beyond my tolerance. However, I must admit it was incredibly delicious, with a refreshing citrus flavor and a smooth, emulsified texture alongside the spiciness, creating a very rich flavor profile. Being unable to handle spice is a real shame in its presence. The server's movements were elegant, the service attentive, the pace comfortable, and he satisfied some of my curiosity as a cuisine lover.

The Food~ The spicy sausage is juicy and rich with a bit of a kick. The garlic and regular Picanha meat are also soft and tender. The crusty skin with the garlic and salt bits mends well with the meat. Paired together with the jasmine butter rice neutralizes the saltiness and pulls you back for more. The oxtail and soup is also very good. The warm soup with the tender oxtail paired again with the rice is the perfect combo. There wasn't a lot of vegetable options but I'm not complaining :) The Logistics~ There is plenty of parking on the street and also a public parking lot near Blanchard. A party of 4 is considered large for this place and you'll end up taking all the seats. Unlike other Brazilian steakhouses that focus mainly on cold cuts, cheeses, and salads, Spettus had a smaller selection of cold items but an impressive variety of hot dishes such as pastas, meatballs, rice, and chicken parm. Everything was flavorful and fresh, and honestly, I could've been perfectly happy just eating from the salad bar alone. We also noticed that a good number of customers were doing takeout, which might explain the larger selection of hot foods. Then came the main event, the meats. Since it was a slower evening and we were the only table doing the full rodizio, we basically had personalized service. The gentleman serving the meats was friendly, attentive, and clearly took pride in what he was serving. He offered great recommendations, took our requests, and playfully encouraged us to take "just one more slice" each time he came around. Every cut we tried was excellent, but the garlic steak really stood out for its flavor. The sausage was fantastic, and the absolute stars of the night were the picanha and the grilled pineapple. I could eat those two forever and be completely content. Overall, Spettus Steak House delivered a top-notch experience that easily rivals some of the larger chain Brazilian steakhouses. If I find myself back in the Boston area, I'll definitely be returning.

A few weeks ago, we went online and Made a reservation here for my brothers birthday. Last night we…read moreall showed up dressed and ready to celebrate his birthday, and when we arrived they looked at us like we had 4 heads. We made the reservation for 730 and they informed us they were about to close and we could grab to go plates but that's about it. Ruined my brother's birthday, and seeing that the reservation was made weeks ago, someone could've called and said they wouldn't be able to accommodate us.
