I haven't been here in years, but my memory was that it was generally worth the high price tag. After this last visit though, I'm pretty confident I don't need to come back - not even in another 8-10 years. A large group of us went for Dine Out Boston and although some ordered drinks, we didn't opt for any food upgrades, and I wonder if that had something to do with the poor service. We were served the "filler" meats pretty quickly - chicken and sausage, followed by the lower quality beef cuts. Eventually, the better cuts made their way around, but after about one round of each, we barely saw the servers again. Even when we specifically requested certain cuts, we waited long stretches of time before they came around. My memory was that as long as your card was green, the meat just kept coming. This time, I didn't even need to flip my card to red because we were served so infrequently. The cheese bread on the other hand kept getting refilled without our asking, even though we already had multiple baskets on the table. And this is relatively minor, but when you sit down, they ask whether you want still or sparkling water. If you don't want to be charged for every round, you have to proactively ask for tap. On its own, it's not a big deal and it's certainly not unique to this restaurant, but combined with everything else, it contributed to the overall feeling that the business model is a bit of a scam. My experience was just average. If you want to eat unlimited cuts of beef this place is for you. My mistake was that I ordered the single churassco with roast chicken. They forgot to bring it to me and when it finally arrived, I received 2 over cooked stringy chicken thighs that were more bones than meat. Much of the food seemed very salty and lacked consistency. Having been here several times over the years, I've come to the conclusion that this place is average. Not great, but not bad. My initial impressions were great based on my first experience, but it varied greatly over the years. It seems the problem with every Brazilian steakhouse I've been to is the lack of consistency in their meats with each visit. There are times where the meats are on point with seasoning and temps and then there are times where it can be bland and way overcooked. Like many other rodizios I've been to, they often come by with the cheaper cuts and take a while to come with their premium cuts despite asking for certain meats. I'll give it to them that they have great deals and their brazilian cheese bread is better than Alma Gaucha, but their bar sides are not as good or extensive. The service is hit or miss depending on where you are seated. If you're seated in the busy area where everyone is then you're more likely to have better service since you have sight lines to waitstaff, but if you're off to the side towards the back then you'll have a quieter and slower experience for service and for meats to come to your table. read more

Fogo de Chao is exactly what you expect from a Brazilian steakhouse. Amazing meat selections - some cuts like the flank, sirloin & garlic steak were flavorful tender, and cooked well. There were a couple cuts like the Parmesan pork that were dry. And the bacon wrapped filet that was overcooked. The salad bar was fresh and well stocked with a wide variety. All the meats paired with the unlimited salad bar, you can definitely get your money's worth. The space itself is upscale and lively, making it a good option for group dinners or special occasions. Service was attentive and nice. However I noticed a few things... The servers carrying the meat weren't the most customer friendly. Overtly quiet, barely smiling or talkative. The manager scored major points for taking the time to visit our table, introduce himself and make sure we were taken cared of. However the manager did proceed to have a meeting with his servers near all the dinners. Overall, Fogo de Chão is great. I have to say for all the hype about Fogo, I found it subpar and two stars may be too generous. Service was terrible, everything was overcooked to the point of being dry. The cold cut and salad bar buffet looked like it had been sacked by some sort of buffet pirates. It had been ransacked, leaving very few options to accompany the grilled meat, except pickles and some roasted peppers. My fiancé believes it was because they were extremely busy, but I don't agree. There were a few vacant tables and it was only a short wait at the door. Service, as I said, was terrible. Table check-ins were few and far between, and our server didn't even bother to introduce herself. There were long stretches with no passadores coming, some walking right past our table. I had to flag down a server (not our table server) just to get our water glasses filled the first time. The hostess came by to ask us how things were (while our plates were empty) and ended up taking my cocktail order. Cocktails were also slow in arriving despite four bartenders being behind the bar. Our table server walked by us a number of times without bothering to even check if we needed anything. The only reason she received a tip was because of my generosity and my fiancé's discomfort at leaving nothing. Speaking of the passadores, the meats they served were overcooked, dry, and in one instance, cold. The parmesan pork loin (one of my favorite items at other steakhouses) was overcooked to the point that it somehow changed textures. The chicken thighs were also somehow dry; I don't know how you manage to overcook a chicken thigh, but they pulled it off. The real disappointment that night was that the linguica only came to our table... once. The garlic steak, flank steak, and picanha came around only once, were good, but also overcooked. The ambiance was clean, professional, and the tables turned over quickly. However, some of the other diners we had the unfortunate luck of being seated near made the dining experience worse. I could have done without the woman on my left, who was rather aggrieved when I asked her to make sure I wasn't in the background of her livestream (class act) and the young man to my right who spent the entire evening loudly airing his grievances at life to the poor soul I can only assume was his father or mother's date for the evening. read more

Last time we were in Boston, we decided to go to Fogo de Chao for their all day Bar Fogo. I think it's a great deal....we get to try many different little things for as little as $6 each. There were three of us and we got many items to share....namely the Brazilian Empanadas (Flaky pastry, seasoned Picanha, onions, chimichurri aioli), the Bone (large Beef Rib with chimichurri sauce), the Lamb lollipops, the Filet mignon board and the Saucy Legs (Fire-roasted chicken, hot Brazilian BBQ, Pão de Queijo crispies, dedo de moça peppers). All of them were excellent. My favorite was the Bone and the Empanadas. Service was professional and attentive. This is a great option versus the full rodizio which is way more expensive per person ($68 dinner or $50 for lunch). read more

Came here twice for dinner recently. Once for the full churrasco, the other time for the indulgent churrasco. I tried the lobster tail, it was okay. The portion size is very small. My friend's black truffle butter was way better. Yes, it is pricey. However, if you bring kids, it's actually "better" deals than other restaurants. I think kids under 10 eat for free (double check with restaurant). We had one guest who is 11, and he was charged half price (double check to see the age for paying half price). This pricing system makes sense. Of course, our parties came both times during off hours (like a super early dinner), to avoid minimize disruptions to other diners. The salad spread is amazing. The servers are okay, some good and some better. The waiters (serving the meat) also vary, some are very nice and others are grumpy. I didn't think the grumpy gestures are very kind, especially considering my guests were visiting from Brazil. That was disappointing. The dessert is very good! Here is how the parking works: You pull up to the driveway following this GPS address, 10 Huntington Ave, Boston, MA 02116. Don't use the restaurant GPS. Do not stop or park on the handicapped access lines. You tell the staff member that you are here for the restaurant. You tell them you will pay by credit card. They will give you a ticket. You leave your key inside on the dashboard. Be prepared to bring $25 cash. They will charge you cash up front, when their garage gets full. You go eat in the restaurant. When you leave, make sure to pay at the parking window inside the lobby. Then go tell the staff member you have paid. Then retrieve your car outside. I returned to Fogo de Chão some time after my last visit during Restaurant Week 2024. Operationally, things have improved, with more coordination and less haphazard service. However, the pacing still has ebbs and flows. The service seems to arrive in waves - an initial flurry when you're first seated, followed by a lull (maybe assuming you're already full), then a second wave if they realize you're still waiting. These stretches can exceed 10 minutes. I imagine the spacious layout of the establishment and the relative sparseness of staff (aka the space is underutilized) contributes to this. Otherwise, the food itself remains consistent with my previous visit and those of other Fogos. read more

Good selection of items on buffet which are overall tasty but there are mostly fillers that you should not fill up on but to just help supplement the main entree which is all the different cuts of meat they'll bring to table side and carve for you. Fruits to end the meal was good - sweet blood oranges and pineapples. The selection of meat was decent though some cuts weren't as good - chewy, dry, or just overall hard that I didn't even bother with once it was on my plate. I liked the ribs, sirloin, and chicken the best. A special we had was the grilled cheese with hot honey. This was delicious! Too bad they ran out after we had one serving. read more

Had a lovely dinner here. This is a Brazilian restaurant that offers an all you can eat experience. To start, you get fresh pao de queijo. Then they bring around unlimited meats and give you a slice to try. Your table also has a flip card with a yes and no side to let the staff know when you're ready for more. It ranges from steak to chicken to lamb, all cooked perfectly and seasoned just right. They ask you which style cut you want, so I usually ask for medium or medium rare and it never disappoints. There is also a bar to get items such as vegetables, fruits, and other side dishes. The Brazilian potato salad is my favorite. Plus they brought around a plate with mash potatoes, plantains, and fried yucca which was cool. We also each got a glass of red wine which paired nicely with the meats. Definitely come to this place hungry and pace yourself because it's easy to get full fast. It's a classy space as well right in Boston, so it's perfect for date nights or special occasions. read more

The reasons for the two stars are: limited choices in the hot food buffet (basically just beans and rice and lentil soup), beans were under under seasoned, surcharge for parking ($30), surcharge for grilled pineapple ($20), spotty service, they did not have Brazilian sodas available (no Guarana!), they don't replenish the salad bar as often as they should and it is limited for a rodizio place at this price range, waiters don't take your plates away promptly, papayas served with peal and seeds, the staff did not seem happy and seemed like under stress. read more

Had the opportunity to have dinner here last Wednesday night June 10th. While the place looked great and had great servers the meats that they brought around were all over cooked. I'm not sure how they like their meats done in Brazil but serving Fillet, Ribeye and other meats well done will not make it here. Even the chicken was cooked until dry. Very disappointed and when mentioned to servers they just said they would mention it to the kitchen as they just continued to serve. I will say the salad bar was good and the desserts yummy. This might be the worst Fogo location I've ever visited. Unfortunately, I recommended Fogo to my parents and brother plus we were celebrating his grad. Service was absent. After getting seated, took 10 minutes before anyone came back to ask what we wanted and explain the churrasco experience to them (as first timers). The market here is also smaller than other locations with less selection. Then they never came around with picanha which is insane to me. I'm over here hyping up picanha as one of the best meats here and they're acting like our table doesn't exist. Once my party tried most of the meats, I realized picanha was never coming, so I asked for it and that took another 10 minutes. Do yourselves a favor and head somewhere else (maybe Somerville). Or be okay with non-existent service and a poor dining experience (hoping that people and company can enhance the experience to at least average). I have also eaten at this restaurant (at another location) and I was at this location to do a birthday celebration with other friends. We chose to do the valet parking and it was a great choice for us. We also had a reservation for our table so we were seated soon after we arrived and the servers did a great job explaining how the signs on our table work. We went to the buffet table first to serve ourselves and there were many choices to choose from like soups, salads or other food items. Then after we were back at our table servers came around with various cooked meats that we could try. We even had some delicious desserts there too and there were many choices to choose from. The ambience was very comfortable to move around in and good lighting too. The dress code is mostly casual to dressy so be prepared for that when you choose to eat here. read more

OMG... Service at this location is HORRENDOUS. We walked up to the host booth for our 4:30pm reservation on christmas eve, the male host was looking down ( at his chart, phone, or something) and didnt even bother to look up to greet or even acknowledge us.We stood there for a good few mins until a female host came up and ask for our reservation, then she walked us to our table. lol Here is where it got even worst: Our waitress (the one with the shoulder length light brown hair and Portuguese accent) came to explain to us the concept and told us that it's $89 for the "Indulgent experience" per person. She didn't bother to tell us about the less expensive option, which was $69. This was not my first time at Fogo de chao, I already knew what I wanted. I told our waitress that we were gonna go with the Reg. $69 Churrasco. Annnnd.....this is where it got weird... Our waitress whipped out a CALCULATOR to show us how much we would save if we were to go with the $89 option. She was blabbing on about how this option included dessert and a lobster tail, and how much more it would be if i were to add them on separately. WTFFFF. lol Needless to say, it got really uncomfortable. I think she could sense that I was uncomfortable because she never stopped by our table for the rest of the night. I'm from California and I've been to many locations and I would have to say that this one had the worst service out of all of them. What about the food you ask? .... it was alright. They brought over the cheaper cuts more often than the good ones. I dont even think they brought over the picanha or even the ribeye tonight tbh. This was my first Fogo de Chao experience and I'm afraid it might be my last. Right off the bat the service was lackluster. There's no one in sight to greet you by the door. Most the staff members walk by you without acknowledging you. Finally I was able to flag the fifth person and they said someone will be with you shortly. Luckily without a reservation we were able to get seated right away. We went with the $68 per person Churrasco experience which include variations of steak, chicken, lamb, pork and the salad bar. The salad bar offers a fair amount of fruits, salad, and sides for the protein. In the beginning the meat selection came out slow. After 10 minutes or so they started to ramp up with the better cuts of steak. A majority of the meat was a bit salty for my taste. Some of the sirloins were a bit tough and chewy. So the bones started piling on our plate and a waiter came by to offer us new plates. Unfortunately he forgot. The same waiter came by later and we ask for our bill. He forgot that too. Another waiter came by and ask if we are waiting for our check. He went to check on it and never came back. Finally another waiter came by and ask if we need our check and he finally got it over to us. We got our check but he forgot to give us a pen. The food is not bad. The portion is generous for what you pay for. I wish they would incorporate more sauces for the meat. Most steakhouse will have either horseradish or Chimichurri sauce. The only option they have here is Tabasco. On top of that the service is mediocre. The staff members are not attentive and forgetful. There certainly room for improvement here. read more

We were stuffed! This place is pretty severe. There are probably 20 waiters carrying big slabs of meat at all times and they'll cut it off for you onto your plate. There are also three huge buffet tables full of fruits, cheeses, berries, salads, sauces, and sides. Every single thing we had was delicious. Especially the honey baked Brie and the grilled pineapple. Parking was a bit tricky as there isn't any directly affiliated with this restaurant but it's very close in proximity to the fairmont copley. It was a pretty hefty bill, which was to be expected given the atmosphere and the menu - definitely a special occasion spot but if you have the means it did not disappoint. read more

Honestly pretty disappointed with my experience at this white tablecloth experience. Their all you can eat experience is around $68 pp, which includes unlimited meat cuts ranging from various kinds of beef, lamb and pork steaks. You also have unlimited access to the salad bar. Pretty standard Brazilian bbq rules. I have been to many such place across North America but Fogo de Chao was probably my worst and most expensive experience. Let's start with seating, they were packed to the brim. People running into each other full. Then the meat service was very very slow and they seemed to be picking and choosing which tables to go to. We had to wait a really long time for service which at $68 per person felt just wrong. The salad bar was also lacking a lot of options most such places have. It had the basics but nothing spectacular. They were missing meat marinades that could go really well with the meat. The meat itself was decent variety, they didn't have any pineapple which is a signature. The worst part was they charge you around $9 for a bottle of water which they don't ask you about but present to you as if it was tap water. Their wine/beer was cheaper than this bottle of water. Our totals after tax and tip came to around $100 per person. Will not be returning, you can go to a very fancy steakhouse in the same price if not less. read more

Lamp chops, Chicken, Sausage, Filet Mignon, Top Sirloin, Ribs, and more. It's a crazy amount of meat. Salad bar is pretty good. Some basic things, but also some Brazilian dishes. You should eat some veggies, because you will consume a ton of meat. There is a menu, so I think you can just order things. I would like to call out the manager - a woman who we've interacted with multiple times who has been phenomenal. She has seen me looking for the white bread that is usually next to the soup, and always offers to bring it to our table. We were sat down and the meat was not rounded to our table until an hour later. However, the steak, lamb, etc were all pretty great. When I tell you this place is the perfect 'all you can eat' dinner, I have never been more correct. 'The Full Experience" costs $65 and is an excellent choice. Waiters wander around with a variety of perfectly cooked meats and just ask you if you want them. It's all delicious, but the filet mignon wrapped in bacon, the chicken wings, and the CHEESE with honey were simply to die for. And that's exactly what happened, I ate so much, my body thought it was my last meal and shut down after awhile. Totally worth it. Ambiance is very nice as well. Fantastic food, excellent service, and spacious interior - what a great night! We came to Boston for a surprise birthday party at this restaurant. Our family member was very surprised and enjoyed a wonderful dinner in a semi-private room for 40! We came in from the street and there was a staircase up and revolving door to get in. The restaurant is attached to the Westin so there is access without stairs through the hotel. Restrooms are gender-specific but large and accessible. Christian, Raul, and the team took great care of us. Drinks from the bar were slow, but the place was packed, and we had plenty to eat while we waited. The salad bar is amazing - you definitely could fill up on that but don't!!! Save room for your protein - lamb, pork belly, flank steak, sirloin, ribeye, sausage, cheese, and chicken (there could be more but that's all I remember right now) - brought to the table by a friendly team of carvers! Have your tongs ready to help place the meat on your plate. The team will also bring you a fresh plate when you need one. Tell your server if you prefer rare, med rare, well-done, etc, and they will come back if they don't have it. I loved the seasonings on all the beef - flank steak was my favorite! They also bring bread, mashed potatoes and fried plantains to the table to share, but don't eat them - save your appetite for the meat - it's so good!!! Dessert was family style for our party. I tasted the chocolate cheesecake and key lime pie - both were delicious!
