The food was not all bad, just don't expect getting what you order off the menu, I have ordered one of the family platters that included hummus and "calamari rice" for delivery but did not get the hummus, as well as getting plain white rice instead of what they claimed was included. I decided to forget about this bad experience and order once again the following week and ordered hummus once again but received a different type of mezza called musabbaha. I always order from Olive Tree when craving chicken shawarma and often when hosting family and friends because their party platters and trays are amazing! Very reasonably priced for the quantity and for what's included. Their food is tasty and there is something in their menu for everyone. Delivery is always on time and friendly. Make sure you order their chicken shawarma, calamari and also try the grilled skewered shrimp (it's delish!). Their pizza is not bad, not fantastic, but pretty decent. Hummus is on point. I live close by so I decided to try this place out, after a friend recommended it. Ordered a medium Asiago chicken pizza for 13.99. The crust itself was pretty good, not too oily and nice and crisp. Best Greek place in town in my opinion. They're more of a take out place than a restaurant. Would recommend calling in and placing an order or you'll be waiting for a while. It's so difficult to find a place that has a calamari meal but this place has the best! It comes with pita, rice, potatoes, tzatziki and salad. It costs about $16 with taxes. Driving into Guelph at 8pm I wanted something good to eat. Owner of the Comfort Inn recommended Olive Tree and boy was he right. Delivered hot in this freezing weather directly to my hotel room in about 40 minutes. I got the chicken souvlaki and a pepperoni pizza. (20cad min for delivery) both were so delicious. I didnt even have utensils (make sure to request) but didnt care. Just ate it old school! Seasoned juicy chicken and the tomatoes and vegetables were super fresh. Pizza was the right amount of crispy and doughy in the right areas. Pepperoni got a little bit of crisp to it too which i love! A±± would eat again. read more

I walked in to this place with no one else in line and waited a good 10 min before the guy even looked at me let alone say Hi, I had to finally say " ah hello am I gonna served today"no hello nothing. He Responded with "can't you see I'm busy over here, your gonna have to wait anyway". So I continued to wait like a sucker, finally he got a chance to serve me, I ordered, told him my toppings I wanted, finally were in motion over here. He asks what sauces I wanted not two seconds later I watched him wrap up my shawarma with NO SAUCES!!! Grrrrr at this point I didnt even care anymore I just wanted this Rude, painful and not worth one cent lunch over with. Unfortunately not a good first experience. Called in for a takeout pizza, and arrived on time only to have to wait in line with regular eat-in diners until I reached the hostess desk. No take out window. Hostess did double duty, waiting tables, clearing tables, and hostessing and only one other waitress there on a Friday night and it was a full crowd. Pizza was so-so, a little too salty and the large pizza was more like a medium. Hostess/waitress was rude, did not respond at all to complaints made by me directly to her once I got to the front of the line, and neither server acknowledged the line waiting because they had to do everything themselves. Very unorganized, definitely not the way a new business should be run when trying to build clientele. read more

Ordered through just-eat.ca. Order time was given, food was 45 min late and had then contacted just-eat and the restaurant directly. Was told by restaurant food was on it's way, and there was no way we could be compensated for a late order as we had ordered online and had already paid... Waited another 45 min for food to be delivered (address 5 min from restaurant). Food was delivered an hour and a half late and was cold and soggy and absolutely unacceptable. Contacted restaurant again after delivery was made with zero apology or compensation for the meal. Just-eat had apologized with a voucher for a future order. Will NOT be ordering from this restaurant again. The food quality was terrible, delivery was so late with zero explanation and zero apology, and the customer service was non-existent. We ordered a meal at 8:30pm, and before we had a chance to say that we wanted delivery they hung up. I assumed the line dropped and they would call us back. When they didn't after 15min, I called back and they said the food was ready. I told them, actually I wanted it delivered. They told us it was going to be a little bit to get a driver and it would be here soon. I thanked them and then waited. 40min past without anyone telling me what's up. I called back and said, so what's going on, where is the driver, I assumed they had gotten lost. They told me the driver hadn't showed up yet and I said, well my food has been waiting there for a while, and I'm sure it's cold. They said, Oh, well let us call you back. 15 later, the driver shows up at my door. I tell the driver, can I please see the food, since it's been done for over an hour and is most likely cold. Believe it or not, but its frozen. The store did not bother calling me back and I tell the driver, thanks but no thanks, I'll just go to Harvey's and get a nice HOT meal. Best part: manager calls me up at 10:30pm and says Hi, what exactly was the problem. I tell them exactly what happened. He said, Oh so you guys were unclear with your ordering and now I'm stuck with a 20$ meal. I was offended, what kind of manager blames the customer for everything when it was obviously a miscommunication issue. I tried explaining this to him politely, but he kept pushing on that it was our fault that the food was cold and we should have paid for it anyway. I told it that it wasn't fair that he was blaming the whole affair on us and that he was being rude. He then threatened to call the cops on us and claim fraud because we chose against taking the meal. I was horrified to hear that a manager would go to such lengths to blame a customer and better yet harass and threaten them for being unsatisfied with their service. Against my best judgement, I got upset and told him that if he wanted to take that path, that he was free to do so and that I was offended that he was blaming us for everything that went wrong. We obviously didn't agree, but he didn't have to be so rude and threaten us with such blatant accusations. After 'talking' for over an hour, we chose to end the conversation and agree to never attend/call such a terrible restaurant with such horrible manners again. This is a warning for everyone! Don't send the food back or else expect for the manager to call late at night demanding that you pay or they will threaten you with the cops. I will NEVER place an order with this establishment or eat any food from The Olive Tree Restaurant on Gordon Street in Guelph EVER again! A couple of months ago we placed a very large order to be delivered. When it arrived, food was missing and the pizzas had the wrong toppings on them. I called the owner to let him know about the problems, and was assured by him that the next time we ordered, our order would be complimentary...'on him'. So we decided we would give them another chance yesterday. Well, when I spoke with the owner he was EXTREMELY rude and condescending and told me that there was no way he was going to give me a free order! After several minutes on the phone he said to call the store back in 5 minutes and he would then see what he could do. When I called back, the girl who answered the phone took my order and told me that there would be no charge. When we arrived to pick up our order, we were then told that we were going to be charged full price. When we expressed our displeasure with being told that we had to pay for the order and when we explained the situation yet again, we were called f****** freeloaders and told to never come back to the restaurant again! Well, they do not need to worry...I will NOT be back and neither will any of my friends or family!! I will not give my business to such a shady group of people....and will definitely NOT recommend anyone support this business!
