Best Souvlaki in Guelph. Will Not Disappoint. Friendly Staff. Decor could use some updating but clean and inviting overall.

Great menu, often good specials, delicious food with the exception that the chef usually overdoes the salt. Both of us often find our meals very salty, and being on salt-restricted diets due to health issues, we think twice about going there. Plus we have never been fond of a prominent salt taste. Why not leave it to the patrons to add their own? Many seniors frequent this spot and excessive salt is not healthy for anyone. Fine service, pleasant decor, calm atmosphere. Cut down on the salt and we could definitely give a 5+. read more

I used to visit Creekside to ensure I support local businesses (I live in the area) and always found it unremarkable but satisfactory. But I WILL NOT GO back after the way a young server was recently abused, along with her customer that was waiting for her food. Foul language, yelling, and plain old bad behavior was lobbed at the poor server and the customer who went back to the kitchen to complain...nope, no more business from me or from my guests...please consider not visiting as this restaurant as it no longer deserves our support.. vote with your wallet...thanks... read more

Love it - great food every time - never disappointed. A fantastic restaurant to have in our neighbourhood - we are lucky.

I was at a wedding this past weekend for a friend, so my family and I came up here for that, and we drove home the next morning, but wanted to find a place for breakfast. My mom found this place on Google, and we thought it was a good idea so we came here. Restaurant was quiet, two other patrons were in the restaurant when we got here. Just for a regular breakfast of 3 eggs, toast, bacon and home fries was $9, and with the option to ask for tomatoes instead was a $2 up charge, which is kind of ridiculous of you ask me. It's not common, but not everyone wants potatoes with their breakfast. I just chose the home fries, but gave them to my mother so she could take them home with us. The meals themselves were delicious, the bacon was crispy, the toast was buttered and my eggs were dippy. I love my eggs sunny side up, and they were made perfectly. The waitress herself was nice, very quiet and not very keen on conversation, went up to pay my bill, very quiet no conversation. Washrooms were clean, no problems there. I felt like this was a richer area of town. Overall, this was a nice quiet place to have breakfast, if you can afford it on a bigger budget, any substitution are extra, and the waitress wasn't really that talkative. read more

We ordered from Creekside on Doordash tonight. What a pleasant surprise! We both got a souvlaki dinner (one chicken, one lamb) and both were perfect, even after being packed up and driven to us. Speaking for the chicken, it was juicy and very well seasoned. The potatoes were tender and flavourful. Both dinners came with generously sized side salads, very fresh and crunchy with lots of vegetables. They also came with tzatziki and a lemon wedge to amp up the flavour to your liking. It was an unexpected find; probably our best takeout meal since moving to Guelph a few months ago. read more

Creekside is one of Guelph's best kept secrets. Living in the north end, i was totally unaware of this south end restaurant until a week ago. We came this morning for breakfast and the word is getting out there because the place was pretty full. Upon walking into the space it feels closed off because the walls of their booths are so high. They have a little space sectioned off when you just walk into the restaurant, but it is very secluded, i prefer to eat with the people. The decor seems new, it is very modern, especially with the various lighting fixtures. For the food, i went with the classic breakfast of eggs, bacon, and potatoes. I find the presentation and techniques used on this one dish set the tone for the whole breakfast experience. The eggs were cooked as specified. The bacon was plentiful, and it was cooked perfectly, most times it can be too crisp. The highlight of the meal were the potatoes, so many restaurants now are taking the shortcut and deep frying their potatoes, not at Creekside though. They were tender, and extremely well seasoned. My only complaint is the fact that they charge an extra .50 for rye toast per order, when you can buy an entire loaf of rye bread that might cost a dollar more then white. Overall, i really enjoy the food that they put out at Creekside, and i cannot wait to come back again. read more

Creekside Kitchen is a cozy restaurant tucked away in the suburbs of Southern Guelph. If you're looking for casual Greek based dining, then look no further than Creekside. Lunch typically attracts an older crowd, but it normally doesn't get too busy. There is a wide selection of food, but I particularly enjoy their delicious selection of dips. The pita is baked to perfection and compliments any main dish. The chicken souvlaki is absolutely fantastic-- but I would also recommend any one of their soups. An awesome breakfast place nicely situated away from the busier city streets. The food was very tasty. I ordered the western omelet and was pleasantly surprised to find melted cheese in it. Normally one has to ask for it and it is tacked onto the bill. Not here. Very flavourful home fried ( not too crunchy and not too soggy). Abundant sized portions. Very pleasant waitress who was attentive to topping up our coffee. My wife encountered an issue with the cleanliness of one of the toilets in the women's washroom. Our waitress got right on it to get someone to clean the toilet. Had we got a " meh" attitude then it would be reflected poorly in this review, however, she acted quickly to get the mess cleaned up. Great food, great atmosphere and great staff. Can't wait to go back again next time we are in Guelph. read more

This is now our favorite neighborhood restaurant. They seem to have done everything right; they menu selection is great.and the chef knows what he's doing. Drive by at noontime and try to find a parking spot nearby. Also, the service is excellent. If you want a booth that is secluded enough to talk business they've got more than a few. I'm not sure if I went to a different restaurant then most of these reviewers or if Creekside Kitchen was having an extremely off day. I did not choose this restaurant. Although I would've based on the reviews. In a very unlikely manner I didn't even check out the reviews before dining. I'm glad I didn't because I'd have been even more disappointed. The decor is quite nice in this small but (trying to be) upscale restaurant. There were a few little things, like big paint chips in the walls and cutlery rolled in paper napkins but other than that I appreciated the decor and tables. Granted, we were dining at an odd time; 3pm. We did make a reservation and we weren't the only people in the dining room. There were 7 of us dining, 4 of which were seniors hence the early dining hour. I'm not sure the server was very experienced, unfortunately. It took quite some time to get drinks and glasses sat empty for ages. When asking for wine we were offered a red or white. My guest had to ask if the white was a Pinot Grigio. I was advised what was on tap but when asked what was in bottles she told me "the usual". Our server asked to take our order 3 times in a row before we finally succumbed and decided. She left a maybe 2 minute gap before asking each time. We were trying to have a leisurely meal in which people who hadn't previously met were being introduced. The appetizer, we only had on between us came out quite quickly. The Tzatziki served in a beautiful plastic container. We had the Spanakopita, which was nice despite the heaviness of the spinach. I assume it was frozen which is why it tended to be a little heavier. Most of our table had the Haddock and chips, the fries were actually quite good and probably the only part of the meal I enjoyed, and I didn't even order the fish! The portions were a good size but the plating was plain. The tartar sauce came prepackaged (thanks Heinz!) as well. The fish was dry, over cooked, bland. It was an embarrassing feat for whomever was in the kitchen. Another guest had the quinoa veggie burger. She was pleased with it. Although the pre made "PC Thins" bun took away from it. I had the California Spring Salad. It was wet, there is no other word to describe it. I was brought my salad dressing in another plastic container and I poured the dressing provided on. I should've checked first as there was like a whole whack of dressing already on the salad. I had added salmon to the salad. It was just disappointing. It appeared to have some sparse orange pepper on it and maybe a leaf of a herb or two. I asked the server to drain my salad out for me and she was able to tell me, it was juice from the mandarin oranges in the salad. I have never seen juice like that in my life! The only other meal purchased was the Souvlaki which was thoroughly enjoyed and looked great. I imagine that sort of cuisine is their specialty. We were never asked how our appetizer tasted and once the plates were put down the server asked "How's everything?" Had she been paying any attention to our table she would've seen the dismay on the faces of our guest, and especially the moms at the table and everyone pushing around their food. The strange part was throughout our meal our server was setting menus and side plates on the tables that would be soon be dining. Thank goodness for this as it was the only time we could catch her attention. Eventually the plates were cleared and dessert was offered. As someone who has extensive experience in the hospitality industry my Mom asked me to talk to our server. I explained to her our disappointment with the service and the food. She told me service is the restaurants specialty and she was sorry I felt this way. She told me we assured her the meal was enjoyed. I was exasperated. Half eaten meals and no one wanting their left overs? That's a red flag. She did not attempt to rectify the situation and her attitude was immensely inappropriate. Judging by the reviews I wouldn't be surprised if service was the restaurants specialty but it was not something our server ever figured out. Our server dropped of our bill at the table after I attempted to speak with her and she gave us some candies that I can only assume she dug out of the bottom of her purse. She did not return the table again. We went to the bar to pay. Long story short we enjoyed some mediocre food and terrible service for $170 dollars. I would never go back. I still haven't decided if I should try to contact the owner because of this experience. I feel for the guests who came in as we were leaving who were subjected to pay the premium priced mothers day menu. A couple dollars more for the sad meals we just attempted to enjoy. read more
