Huge selection of burgers and other delicious if not necessarily "healthy" items. Service is quick, and very friendly. We loved our meal and would plan to return.

Worth the drive! We heard about this place about a year ago and put it on our list of "Yeah we should go there but it's outta the way so we will get there when we get there" places. We should not have waited so long... The outside legitimately looks like a barn. So you may not expect much of the inside but you would be incorrect. The inside is decorated rustic but not cheaply rustic. Authentic good quality giant wooden table and booths fill this place. Nothing is flimsy. Someone spent good money on making sure this place was comfortable. There were tables filled with families everyone smiling and happy. Not a single person seemed grumpy or in a rush to get out and I can tell you why...The Menu. This menu has so many amazing options I was getting food envy with literally every plate that went past me. The only issue I had with this place was that it was so difficult to decide on what to have. I ended up doing the Slider Flight because like I said I could not choose. No regrets. I tried the Old Mac and the Mac&Cheese with Bacon Sliders. Delicious. I also order the Garlic Cheese Bread to be honest it wasn't what I was hoping for. There was a lot of cheese which is obviously great but it lacked Garlic which for me is the best part. We already have plans to go back.

Burger Barn is a large restaurant with plenty of booth and table seating. I wasn't that impressed with the food. I figured as it's called the burger barn, I should try the burgers and so ordered a classic bacon cheeseburger. The burger itself was heavily crusted outside and just warm inside making me think it had been pre cooked then warmed up on the grill. As well, the burger was very dry inside and the bun was stone cold right out of the refrigerator. With the cold lettuce and tomato it made for a cold dry burger. The fries were also quite dry and not crispy in the least. Wanted to send the whole lot back but as the waitress never returned after serving to inquire as to how my meal was, I reluctantly ate the meal as served. From some of the reviews posted I expected much better. Wouldn't likely return.

Went here tonight (Friday night) for dinner. We are arrived at 7:00 and there was still a 20 minute wait. Thankfully they have seating to wait for your table inside and outside. We were told that in the summer it doesn't quiet down until 9:30pm, in the winter around 8:00. The decor of the place is country-like with lots of tables and booths on both sides. There's a long bar too. The staff here are amazingly friendly and they certainly take care of you well. They sat us down at a booth and we told Alyson that it was our first time there and asked what burgers are most popular. She was so helpful by answering all of our questions, and amongst other things, told us about the Texan Burger that has onion straws, pulled pork, BBQ sauce, garlic mayo, cheese, and shredded pickle--I went with that! Each burger comes with a side, and I upgraded mine to poutine. Allyson also told us that most things are homemade there and the potatoes come in every day--a guy peels them for hours and hours in the back. We waited about 25 minutes for our entrees and they arrived hot. The plate portions are huge. The buns on the burger are nice and soft, like an egg bun. The taste of the burger and the poutine was out of this world, cooked perfectly. I only ate half the plate and doggie-bagged the rest. The menu has a lot more than just burgers and I will certainly be back to try lots more.

Rustic atmosphere reflects it's setting.

Tip: If it's your first-time, order a beef burger. I ordered a Classic Bison Burger and it was sort of dry. Based on the rave reviews, I was expecting to be blown away, but everything was just o-kay. First, it's "Wait To Be Seated", even though there are tables open. So there was a bit of a wait/line in front of the desk. Tall lanky man was friendly and tried to be efficient. Menu is much more than just burgers, but since this place is called "Burger Barn", I was more included to that portion of the menu which is towards the back. There were quite A LOT of options and if you order anything fancier than just a plain burger, it's not that cheap. Standard beef burger, either an 8oz or 2 X 4oz patties was $10.99. I wanted to order something different, so I got the Bison Burger, but looking back, I should've just gone for the standard beef. When burger finally arrived, the bottom bun was hard. Patty itself was a bit dry and a bit too overdone. Patty didn't taste seasoned. I've definitely had better burgers, cheaper! Fries were crispy, but not oily. Lunch for 2, Bison/Venison, just burgers no drinks, was $40, including a good tip. Service: Other than the lanky man who greeted and showed us to our table, waitress wasn't particularly friendly. No complaints, but she could've at least smiled. Don't expect quick service though, it's a bit more relaxed. Food does take some time to arrive to table. Verdict: If you're in the area and are hungry, stop by, but don't drive onto the Six Nations Reserve purposely to eat here.

My Girl friend brought me here raving about the Indian Tacos. Unfortunately it was a Wednesday and Indian Tacos are the Tuesday special. What I had instead was the Old MacDonald burger which is Burger Barn's rendition of a BigMac. Hands down the best burger!! I really enjoyed every bite of it. There server was welcoming and nice. The food came out a bit slow but worth the wait. Very affordable. $17 + Tip got me the burger with fries and gravy and a refillable soda. I'll be back for the Indian Tacos.

I've been told that no other burgers will pass her lips ever more!! Not sure about the drive? Make your way out to here! The size of portions is worthy of the pricing. The burgers start at 7oz and only get larger. Expect that the side is smaller than separately ordered, you're wrong. Is it busy, yes but they can handle it. The burger patty has nothing except the beef. Want Bison instead of beef, sure it's possible for not much more. Lots of choices on the menu! Although most are based on the burger.

Burger Barn Food Truck - Animal smash burger

Burger Barn Food Truck

Been wanting to try this spot for a while after hearing so many good things about their original…read moreestablishment which unfortunately burned down, so now they're temporarily operating as a food truck and my review is solely related to my experience with this food truck. First thing I noticed is how much traffic this spot gets. A lot of locals and some visitors passing through for a bite and/or pit stop. They have plenty of shaded outdoor seating, a self serve condiment station, and overall very clean setup. I ordered the Animal Smash Burger without fries (because I hate fries lol) and it came out to $17 without a drink. The burger was huge, the patties totaled 8oz and there was plenty of sauce, cheese, and veggies packed between an ACE burger bun. I rate it a 7/10. It was super messy to eat (which isn't inherently a bad thing, just a little inconvenient because burgers are greasy and the closest place to wash your hands is inside the neighboring convenience store) and the patties were pretty thick for a smashburger. Flavors didn't blow my mind but still did a good job for the price. I got pretty full off just the burger alone. My overall personal opinion is that this is one of the best food/burger options around as the quality is definitely higher than Miracle Man's or big chain places like A&W etc. therefore people will naturally favor this spot because there aren't very many independent gourmet options within a 30min drive to compare. The location is super convenient as well since there's literally a gas station/rest stop/tobacco shop in the same lot, so if you need a clean bathroom after your meal it's easily accessible. I don't think I'd go out of my way and return for just their burgers, but once they reopen the barn and have a bigger menu with more indigenous items I'd like to give this place another try. Still really glad I experienced this place though. It's nice to get out of the city.

I thought my GPS was leading me astray - again! - when it took me through a downtown-y residential area with older, two-storey houses. However, when I saw the pack of cars parked on the side of the street, I knew something good MUST be around. :) As you enter, there's a counter with breads behind it and cash register. And on the other side, is where some magical stuff happens, i.e. the hot table. I hesitate even writing this here, but the prices are AH-MAZING. Chicken Parm sandwich sm for $5, lg for $6?? AND since they ran out of large buns, they gave me 2 smaller ones for $6?? WHA...I'm not good at math, but isn't that like B1G1! I really hope that the owners can't decode my shorthand. Anyway, I didn't even explore the back room and that's where, apparently have cold cut sandwiches...which are also supposed to be good. Sandwich comes on one of the buns they bake on-site, your choice of spicy or mild tomato-based sauces, fried onions, and like 2 pieces of nicely seasoned Chicken parmesan. So delicious that you don't care if you're outside, sitting on the curb, eating it with sauce and onions dripping all over your shirt. Looking like a complete schlameel. Check this place out! P.S. SHHH...and don't tell too many people about it.

As a family owned Portuguese bakery, they serve their signature sub-sandwiches: turkey, Black Forest ham, prosciutto, veggie, all but the kitchen sink. Not only are their buns freshly baked in house - they taste amazing and most sandwiches are only $3. What a deal! They also serve other lunchtime dishes like lasagna and soup but their sandwiches are to kill for - think Black Friday or Boxing Day frenzy. It's that good. They also have freshly baked goodies but it's first come first serve. Come with a few bucks and leave with a huge lunch. Pro tip: the Black Forest ham sandwich is superb.

I know a lot of people have reservations paying top dollar for just a sandwich, but I'd say the quality of ingredients and flavourful sauces is totally worth it. I always get the holy cow sandwich with vamp sauce, but will occasionally get the chicken sandwich with lunar sauce. I did try the lemonade they had once, but to be honest, it doesn't quite fit my palate. The lemonade has some sort of seasoning in it. If you've had lemonade from East Asian restaurants, you would kind of know what to expect. They also give you a discount card that you can show for an extra 15% off when you visit. If you're in the area looking for a quick bite, I'd give this place a shot.

This was a hearty sandwich, well over a pound on arrival I'd say. Unfortunately, it was delivered rather cold but not their fault. The bread was fresh, soft, and sturdy.. and the patties were flavourful. I'm not a vegetarian but I was very satisfied with them and happy I chose this over chicken or beef options. The newest location is right by the river - with lots of public parking across the street. Beautiful old building and a nicer overall decor than the previous spot. Still colourful - with cool drawings of their famous sandwiches on the walls. Lots on offer, but really, who am I kidding? "Mennonite sandwich, please" is what I said - and what you better say if you know what's good for ya. That delicious summer sausage, fresh corn relish with a subtle but delicious kick of spice. The cheddar - classic taste - nice slice - just how I like it. Definitely not processed cheese. The fresh country white bread - melt in your mouth but still with a crunchy brown crust. MMMMMMMMMennonites seem to have the secret of sandwich making down pat. This is the kind of sandwich that puts hair on your chest...What's that joke - why do Mennonite boys grow beards? I always add the "deli dills" - I'm pretty sure they're local mennonite too. Needless to say, PHENOMENAL. They also have THE MOST AMAZING 4-bean salad. Try it. Trust me. I don't even LIKE bean salad all that much... this one converted me. Really. GET IT. They lose a star because it's time to fix the service. It takes waaay too long to get your food, and that's true whether you eat in or order from the take-out window. Service is a bit better for breakfast, but still nothing to rave about. Expect to wait 20-30 minutes for your food. The kitchen & waitstaff are unfortunately more often than not visibly frazzled/stressed. I have been here for breakfast a bunch of times, as well as dinner once or twice. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their jam - "moss berry" - never heard of it before or since! For dinner, I've had the Spinach, Marinated Mushroom, Red Onion and Goat Cheese Pizza ($6.50) as well as the Caramelized Broccoli, Red Onion and Ricotta Stuffed Pasta Shells baked in a our slow-cooked Tomato Sauce ($13.95). Both VERY yummy. Their breakfast burrito is legendary. I must recommend it as your first breakfast expedition at YSK. For meat-eaters, try the peameal bacon. LOCAL PORK FACTOIDS: A note on peameal bacon + Stratford: this is prime peameal bacon territory. Check it out: http://www.porkshoppe.com/ Last interesting pork fact? The Annual Ontario Pork Congress happens in Stratford too. Just one more point in proof that Stratford is THE place to be eating pork. Which I don't, to clarify. I've been a veghead for 13 years now. But I have juicy childhood memories of Saturday mornings at the market with my Dad eating peameal bacon sandwiches with LOCAL bacon, LOCAL cheddar cheese, FRESHLY-CHURNED LOCAL butter on a FRESHLY-BAKED kaiser bun. Pinafore Breakfast Sandwich (toasted bagel with that gorgeous local goat cheese, smoked salmon, tomato, onion & lettuce) is worth a try too! Let me preface by saying that their OG The David sandwiches are not bad. The focaccia bread was nice, and the sauce is solid where they didn't overdo the truffle flavours. What they however overdid was the prosciutto. Sometimes in life, less is more. They just went 'ham' with layers upon layers of what tasted like the cheap San Daniele prosciutto (according to the website they used ones produced by local Niagara farmers), where in parts of the sandwich that didn't have the mozzarella cheese, the sandwich was inedible because it was so salty. By eating the entire sandwich, I would have exceeded the entire week's sodium intake. By the end, I had to throw a quarter of the sandwich out since it was so heavy and salty. Had they invested in higher quality prosciutto and included just two or three layers of it, it would have been a pretty good sandwich. I remember, outside the restaurant they said something along the lines of if someone ate a sandwich from Sandwich Society, he/she would not regret it like their EXs. But after having one, I experienced a certain degree of buyer's remorse. Remember, "we don't eat sandwiches because we are hungry. We eat sandwiches because we are members of a Foodie app called Yelp."
