It was a little bland even with the salsa. Had an olena waffle that is gluten free. Very yummy and crisp and perfect with a little syrup. Service was friendly. I'm going to be honest, this is my favorite vegan breakfast stop so far! My boyfriend got the cold brew and I got the Hawaiian honey latte with oat milk. We also shared the breakfast sandwich. My boyfriend being the cold brew lover he is, enjoyed his drink and I absolutely loved my latte. I'm slightly lactose, so with the uprise in oat/vegan milk has helped me a lot. The breakfast sandwich is so so good! You can definitely tell it's vegan but something about the flavors just mix so well. I absolutely loved every piece of the sandwich and the sauce they used. I love meat. My vegan friend convinced me to come here. Well I ordered what any meat lover would like. And I was disappointed. BUT you need to extract "meat" and just taste the food for what it is. And when I did that, I must say it was freaking good haha. The bacon in the BLT is actually coconut and I don't know what they did to it but it was good. I could've crushed the sand which, but I bought it for my husband. I got the lox for myself, and although they ran out of the cashew cream cheese, I replaced it with the pesto. So I'm not sure if I would've enjoyed it more had it been the actual product. I'm not a fan of carrots, but they smoked it somehow to make it work. You could still taste the sweetness of the carrots in the back of you palate and I didn't like it (because I don't like carrots) but given what it was, it was pretty good! This street level spot has a bit of something for everyone- 86 the Honey if you're Vegan or feeling vegan for the day. Sammies to wraps to a waffle and of course an Açaí Bowl are all for your enjoyment. The Plantation Ice Tea was tasty as was the Golden Milk. The bacon seems like a coconut bacon and temper your expectations (or be real with yourself and your buds) if coconut is generally a hard substance then don't expect a soft and moist bacon. It is crunch and thin - so just tell yourself it is really crispy bacon and be done. It is a counter service type of spot so your customer service experience is as long as it takes you to figure out what you want and then for them to let you know what they may be out of (in this case virtually all the cold press juices) that day. Flavorful and worth the trip. Won't blow you away but will fill your belly up in a good way. You're not going to get much in the way of views besides cars, busses and ladies doing their morning walk exercise. read more

What an amazing place with an atmosphere that's very homey. I really enjoy how they have customer parking and it's free if you decide to go inside the store to have a bite or a drink. What really made me attracted to Olena Cafe & giving them a try is how everything made out of here is not only healthy for you but locally grown as well. You can tell everything is fresh to order and the quality of dishes and drinks produced out of here is made with lots of love and aloha. I can't begin to express the customer service and how amazing it was but thank you to Ipo who really took the time to take care of us in helping us decide on things to get knowing it was our first time and had a lot of questions on the menu. What a huge disappointment! Was very hungry after a work out and thought I would try this new vegan place. I ordered the BLT with the vegan 'bacocon' they're so proud of. The server came and proudly presented me with my 'lunch'. And it contained no black beans, which was literally the reason I ordered it instead of the breakfast sandwich. Vegans where I live are compassionate and non harming people. I was shocked when they told me after dropping a lot of cash on their breakfast that I could not use their restroom. Where is the empathy? We walked 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back to our hotel. She said, "You can go to Target".... Really- I'm sure you all don't go there. I did not appreciate the employees who worked there. Also they put uncooked tofu in a sandwich (cold) and absolutely no juices or smoothies were available to purchase???? They didn't bother to say why- only, "no smoothies or juices". These people need to start acting like vegans and have compassion toward their customers. Great vegan food and a great staff. I have enjoyed every meal I have eaten here. Although I'm not Vegan, I find the food very filling, satisfying, and tasty. Initially I came just to have a healthier option, but now I find myself ordering food here more than I thought. I tend to come on the weekends or if I get off work early to pick up dinner. They are not too busy, keep their business very clean, and considering everything is handmade, the food is prepared pretty quickly. The portion size doesn't seem like much in the beginning, but when you start eating, you sit there wondering, "hmm, how am I going to finish this?" (Not even joking!). Their smoothies and juices are really good too. I really want to love this place. It has great food and drinks. I could honestly eat the olena bowl and BLT sandwich every day. The fresh pressed juices are also very tasty and refreshing. That being said, I hardly eat here because every time I do, I'm so turned off by the employees' hygiene practices - or lack thereof. (1) When I visited yesterday, there was a woman working in the front who was NOT wearing gloves while she alternated between slicing oranges, eating bananas with her fingers, drinking from her Hydroflask, and touching her mask that was stained with so much dirt you could see exactly where she touches it to pull it down. In addition, while she took a break from slicing oranges, she saw that there was extra leftover from a smoothie her co-worker had made. She grabbed a spoon and proceeded to eat the excess right in front of me. (2) The person in the back, of whom you have full view from the front, is NOT wearing gloves while preparing food. I try to give that a pass, and I tell myself that she's washed her hands at the beginning of her shift and hasn't touched anything dirty since. (Please be true!) (3) Employees who are not on the clock will walk in for a visit and, WITHOUT WASHING THEIR HANDS, fix themselves drinks and food. They touch the food ingredients, machines, etc. (4) This is not really hygiene related. I once ordered a BLT, which generally take a while to make there. One of the employees finally gave me my sandwich, and I was on my way. Just when I reached the parking lot, I noticed that another employee had tracked me down. She said, "You ordered a BLT, right? I think we gave you the wrong sandwich." I handed it to her, and she turned to run back to the cafe. I was right behind her to return for my sandwich, but she couldn't be bothered to hold the parking or cafe door for me or apologize for the mix-up. She gave the sandwich to the correct customer and went about her day. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like I had that sandwich for too long to give it to someone else (at least in these COVID times). I've waited to write this review, hoping that I wouldn't have to because it was just a one-off or that things would change. I'd go weeks between visits, trying to convince myself that things have to be better by the next time I'm craving the food. I hope that they please please please fix these issues. I've been going to this place for their smoothies in the past 2 weeks but will not step foot in there again. Its a very small cafe & they're breaking every COVID rules for restaurants. Tables not 6 feet apart, face mask to be used when not eating enforced & no sanitizing of tables between customers. I saw a customer with face mask off on her laptop waiting for her food. I bet they don't have that contact info sheet all indoor dining customers must fill out. I was hoping for really good coffee at this place, but it came short. I got a Hawaiian decaf pour over, and it was just not the right move. I'm not sure if they are using really old beans or low quality beans but the coffee tasted like lukewarm bitter vegetable oil. Unfortunately I had to throw it away after a few sips because I just could not take another sip without feeling nauseous and overpowered by that taste. My husband ask for a customization on his wrap which they couldn't do since they're pre-made which kind of goes against the healthy appearance. My bowl was also just average. I enjoyed the toasted BLT sandwich with it's crispy coconut bacon and aioli sauce. Staff was friendly and nice. They informed me that they were out of strawberries for the waffles. They gave me options. I chose papayas and it turned out to be very delicious! I love the plant-based menu, everything seemed natural homemade and fresh.
