a bag of original potato chips

Talk about yum! Came here before our drive home from Lancaster to Philly. We were seated right away and the staff were very friendly. We checked out Yelps reviews before coming and everyone were raving about to hidden gem. I ended up ordering a turkey bacon club on Rye bread which came with potato chips and got a root beer. My friend got the shrimp Po boy and a sprite. We both got are meals very quickly and soon our table was quiet from us chowing down on the food. The sandwich was so tasty and the bacon was so crispy, just the way I like it! The portion was huge too! Maybe I eat like a bird or eat way less than I used to but I couldn't finish the club! I had leftovers to take home with me. My friend tore up his sandwich and was surprised that the shrimp was so good. The potato chips that came with the meal were also so tasty and I wish they had them here in Philly. I normally don't eat a lot of chips, but i inhaled these. I actually saw they have a website and will see if they ship here, cause they are just that good! The waitress was also fast with everything we needed and very friendly. This visit here was a good one, and if I'm ever in this area again, I would definitely come back.

Great food. Turkey club had real off the turkey off the breast. My two companions had breakfast and they said it was delicious. The only less than great happening was that the service was slow. Probably no help!

My Mom and I found this place after a diner we tried to go to was closed. Olde Hickory Grill is now my favorite breakfast spot! Our waitress was very nice, she filled my Moms coffee cup about four times without us ever having to look for her. She paid attention and kept coming over when she noticed her cup was low. Everyone employed there was very nice, my Mom walks with a cane and when she was on her way to the restroom, employees moved things out of her way to make it easier for her. The woman at the door helped all of the elderly patrons and parked their walkers by the door for them after they sat. On top of all of this, breakfast was fantastic and very (VERY) reasonably priced. We were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely be going back and I encourage others to visit as well!

This was my 2nd time coming to Mad Chef!…read more The first time I came here was about 2 years ago (before doing yelp reviews). I was not very impressed. This time around I cannot complain! Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Go up to the counter, tell them your table number, and your food arrives shortly! Prices are high here! Expect a larger number on your check if consuming both food and alcohol!

Big Sigh... An attempt to create something good, unsual, but…read morenot only falls short in doing so, the inflated prices were enough for you to rethink your groceries for the week. Maybe what I smelled upon walking inside Mad Chef, were hops; I'm unsure. There was a lingering, unpleasant scent (hay/old peanut shells, an earthy staleness). When my food arrived, the scent dissipated. I purposely took a picture of the fish, on my fried fish sandwich, to illustrate what $17 and some change, looks like - very thin. The fish fry was tasty, slightly undercooked, soft crusted and soft bun, fresh condiments and those "pickles" were stellar. They were the best part of my meal. I would seriously purchase a jar of those pickles. Was wary of how hot honey would mesh with a pepperoni pizza, but surprisingly, the sweet heat and the savoriness of the pepperonis, worked well together. The only miss and it's a pretty big "miss," was the paper thin, tasteless crust, acting only as a vehicle to hold the toppings. Suggest you improve the crust and then, you'll have a stellar pie. Loved the peach bread pudding with brown sugar ice cream, but once again, for the price; the portion was skimpy. Liked the touch of homemade whipped cream, but it was overly whipped (stiff and tasteless), making it actually, impalatable.

Went to the Horse Inn last week and had a really good time. Cool place. You kinda feel like you are…read morein an old horse barn which is actually pretty sweet. They do this mystery beer thing which is just a cheap beer but it's fun and feels on brand for the place. Food wise the beef tips are the move. I would honestly go back just for that. But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.
