4 stars for the food and service. Extra 1 star because one of us is a huge fan of Chimay beer and this place serve a Chimay on tap. Our server were polite and attentive. Food came pretty quickly. The wings and the mac n' cheese were pretty good. Definitely worth stopping by.

Are you looking for a light bite to eat? This is not the place for you. And that's okay! The folks here are genuinely nice people who are able keep the wait list in their head as more and more people line up during the dinner rush. The bar seems like it's been here forever with personal beer steins hanging from the rafters. And did I mention the root beer comes straight from the tap too? This is like the cool local watering hole that every place in Brooklyn strives to be... but it's for real. Enjoy the hearty pub fare... and appreciate this gem of a roadside stop on your next trip to the Berkshires. (And leave your attitude about waiting in a line at the door.)

This is my first time here. We are in town to take care of a few things and staying at the Wyndham pretty close and our front desk staff told us about the Olde Forge. The food was great! I ordered what was called Etoufee. Never heard of it before. It was sausage, chicken, and shrimp all in a spicy sauce and some steamed white rice. I really enjoyed this meal. We did have 4 adults and 3 kids in our party and it took quite a while for our food to come out. Also took a while for drink refills. Not sure if they were busy or just don't typically have a larger party dine there. All in all we really enjoyed the food. We did enter from the bottom level. Not sure if that is a customer entrance or not. Once again we are not from around here haha

Beer on tap, partial view.

It was okay. It's kinda small. The atmosphere is pretty rustic and really cool, but not a fan of the wings too much

The main feature is locally sourced fresh ingredients prepared in an unusual way. I loved the crispy soy/maple salmon on a bed of hash consisting of brussel sprouts, potatoes and celery root puree. My wife Statler chicken was crisp and juicy. But you can also get incredible looking sandwiches. My eyes locked onto the cod reuben. How unusual, yet easy to understand. Entrees stay in the mid 30s, so don't expect a cheap night if you add an appetizer, wine and dessert. (Btw, ask to tour the wine closet). However, farm fresh food is worth it to me. The room is good looking and comfortable. It is a little noisy with all the happy people, but not too bad at all. I will be back. And I will bring my picky friends visiting from New York.

We enjoyed for dinner: To Start- Warm baguette with herbed oil, along with Naan Tacos (yummy) For Entrées: Caribbean Style Statler chicken (could've used a hint of scotch bonnet & ginger, but it was good), and the Common Burger (delicious) with matchstick fries. We were too full to try dessert. No worries, there will definitely be a next time. Enjoy! **Oh, I hear they are expanding due to the high demand. Reservations are necessary** Thank you

Our bartender was super nice and fast. He came and brought the menus really quick. Our drinks were really good and the food came out really fast. I believe the first night we had the wings and the homemade chips, as well as the ramen !(the wings and chips were perfect). The Asian inspired dish was a little bit spicy but very tasty. The second night we tried the mushrooms crostini and again was perfect. Decent burger, I would have loved the bun a little bit more toasted, and the cheese a little bit more melted but other than that was good. I had a fish dish that night. ( not too crazy about the Brussels sprouts but other than that was good) . Yes, we came back for a third time for New Year's Eve. I really wanted to try the miso Caesar salad and again it was 10 out of 10. Probably the best Caesar salad I had so far! My husband had the steak that night and I had the pasta. Both good. Ma favorite? The salad and dessert. ( apple crisp with ice cream, a must ). The ambiance was really good, we loved the cozy vibes at the bar, the decor, dim lights and especially the 80' music. Can't wait to return!

The service is great, the staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is ok. I did enjoy the hangar steak (although it was bit dry since I don't put barbeque sauce on my steak) and the salmon was good, but the side couscous with the salmon last night was cold. Tonight we ordered the pork chop (delicious), but the sweet mashed potatoes had the skin on them (?) so I couldn't eat all of them. The Mediterranean baby kale salad was very good, but the chicken was dry. The paper planes cocktails are excellent! Overall a very good experience and definitely recommend.

Unfortunately, the way management handles pricing and customer concerns has become very disappointing, The issue is not with all the staff. Many of them provide very good service. However, there have also been times when service at the bar has felt rushed or dismissive, particularly on weekend evenings when one bartender appears more focused on closing customers out early than allowing regulars to enjoy their meal or drinks without being tabbed out before requesting such. That kind of experience, combined with the pricing issue, makes loyal customers feel like an inconvenience rather than valued guests. The bigger issue is the repeated nickel-and-diming of regular customers. Most recently, I ordered a small pizza that was half cheese, and half mushroom, onion and sausage. I was charged the full topping price price for each of the three toppings as though the toppings had been placed on the entire pizza, even though they were only on half. On top of that, I was charged an additional fee because the other half was plain cheese-even though a cheese pizza is already base pizza. That kind of pricing is hard to justify and makes the regular customer feel like every small variation is treated as an opportunity to add another charge. When I first questioned the charge, the bartender's response was essentially "this is how it rings up in the register". That did not address the concern. a register entry does not make an unreasonable charge reasonable, and pricing can be adjusted when something clearly does not make sense. I then attempted to raise the issue with the owner and was directed to the manager. When I spoke with the manager, the response still felt defensive rather than customer-focused. I was eventually handed $2 and told, in substance, that because I was a regular customer, they did not want me to be upset. The way it was handled made it feel as though I was the one being difficult over a few dollars. That misses the point. The issue is not the $2. The issue is that regular customers should not feel like every order is an opportunity to squeeze out another charge. Regular customers notice when small charges do not seem reasonable or transparent. This was not an isolated concern. On Mother's Day, we came in expecting the regular dinner menu after being told dinner would be available. Instead, we were given a holiday menu with options selected from the regular menu at higher prices - around $7 to $8 more per entree - without anything extra included. On another visit, we were told there would be a $4 charge for extra bread, which also felt excessive. I understand restaurant's have costs, and I do not expect anything for free. But there is a difference between fair pricing and making loyal customers feel taken advantage of. When a regular customer raises a reasonable concern, it should be handled with professionalism, not defensiveness. This restaurant has good food, a great location, and some very good staff. But management's pricing practices and response to customer concerns have changed my view of this restaurant. After years of regular patronage, I walked away feeling like the loyalty of regular customers are treated like another revenue opportunity.

Through all of it, Lindsay was absolutely incredible. I honestly don't know how she did it. Even as the restaurant filled up, she somehow made it feel like I was her only table. The first time I was there I had the avocado toast, which was great. My friend had their breakfast burrito which he thought was soggy and fell apart but hey it happens. Food delivery was very slow the first time, but our server was nice and the drinks were flowing so it was fine. Our table all has 20+ years each in the service industry, we get it. Today once again the crunchy French toast was amazing. We got it for the table to share and everybody couldn't get enough. The service was just really weird. It was like she really didn't want us to be there. And she didn't want to be there. She wasn't really rude, but she was pretty indifferent and took a long time to come back to the table. A second round of drinks was obviously off putting to her. Then I needed a change for a 20 so I could just leave cash for the check and hadn't seen her for a while so I asked another server who just walked by and said I'm not your server without even making eye contact with me. When I got the change, she was a little bit rude with me about it. It was 1 o'clock, they were past the brunch rush. It was just an odd experience with the server. I get having a bad day, but you shouldn't make it so obvious that you wished that you didn't have to be there.
