This is the worst run establishment. The workers are mean and don't know what customer service is. I brought my bridesmaid dress to them for a simple hem. It cost $70 and when it was returned to me there was a stain right in the middle of the dress. I took it back to them to fix it.... which they were going to MAKE ME PAY FOR THE STAIN REMOVAL, give me no discount on the hem job which created this disaster, and said it wouldn't be done in time for my sister's wedding. Don't bring anything you care about here it will likely be ruined. read more

Amazing quality, quick turnaround and such friendly staff. Great location and so happy to happen going to this Cleaner since we moved to the area for two years now. Great for dry cleaning and tailoring. read more

Serious Reaction to Their Cleaning Chemicals & Poor Treatment by Owner I decided to try Old Town Valet Cleaners on Wells St after my longtime cleaner closed. I dropped off several shirts and winter sweaters, but the first time I wore one of the cleaned shirts, I developed a severe rash across my sides, back, and arms. It was swollen, painful, and required a visit to urgent care, where I was put on medication because it appeared to be a skin infection. The reaction eased up briefly, but during a work trip--after wearing sweaters cleaned by the same shop--it flared up again even worse. I ended up in the emergency room and was diagnosed with a significant allergic reaction to chemical exposure, requiring a steroid shot. A dermatologist later confirmed the same. I'm now left with multiple items I can't wear and significant medical expenses. When I brought this to the owner's attention, he dismissed my concerns, blamed me, and raised his voice instead of trying to resolve the problem. I've used many other dry cleaners in Chicago without a single issue, so this experience was completely unexpected. Based on what happened, it seems this business may be using harsh or unsafe cleaning chemicals, and the customer service was extremely unprofessional. I would strongly caution anyone considering bringing their clothes here. read more

Excellent service and even better pricing. Best cleaners in Chicago for the price. Highly recommend

Great service from a friendly neighborhood shop. They solved a self tanner situation perfectly, and they were honest and said they didn't want to risk tackling a different issue with some pillow covers. I appreciate both! read more

The only place I go in the city for alterations and dry cleaning. I have recommended Old Town Valet Cleaners to many friends, and all have had great experiences. They are kind, and the turn around time is quick and the service efficient and precise. Highly recommend! read more

I came here for alterations on a black tie event dress and I was very impressed. I was able to walk in and be seen immediately plus the dress was ready to be picked up less than 2 weeks later. The work that was done was perfect and altered with much consideration. I will be getting my alterations done here again! Thank you for the attention to detail! read more

Chicago is chock-o-block with dry cleaners but hands down this hard working, careful, and attentive dry cleaners is top notch. Above and beyond the many others in LP or OT. They are also so friendly and take pride in being a positive contributor for the local neighborhood and community. I'm so glad they've managed to stay open and strong during the worst of the pandemic. If you're looking for a reliable business operator and good value for money, check them out. read more

I brought in a pair of jeans that needed hemming, they were able to use the original hem of the pants and I think they look incredible! A very reasonable price and good turnaround time. read more

These people and this cleaners has never let me down. Received a bridesmaids dress, 3 days before I had to leave for the wedding and they rushed the alterations and helped me fix it exactly how I asked. Could not have better things to say. read more

I am a first time customer at this establishment and was treated very rudely, so much so that I decided to take my garment elsewhere rather than complete the transaction. While I very respectfully was attempting to interact with the front desk personnel (who also happens to be the owner Chang K) not only could he barely take the time to look up and acknowledge my presence, he also walked off right in the middle of me speaking to him to answer the phone (sans an "excuse me" or "pardon me" or "one moment please while I attend to this phone call"). I found the reception in this establishment to be unprofessional and unwelcoming read more

Finished right on time. Friendly service. Older couple with lots of business, which is always a good sign.

I brought in a couple pairs of jeans that needed tailoring and they did a great job! Very reasonable prices and quick turnaround time!

Wonderful place with the best service in Chicago. The owners are genuinely nice people - I immediate felt their goodness. They saved my totally shrunken rayon+wool St. John cocktail dress (size 2 to XXXS, due to my mistake to fix oil stains at home) which was a pure miracle. I cannot thank them enough for their professional service and kindness!! read more

We use this cleaner for our regular dry cleaning, hemming/alterations, and sometimes wash and fold service. They are quick, dependable and do good quality work. There have been a couple of occasions where a mark was left on a shirt, etc. and they have fixed it free and given us a credit on our next visit. They know our names when we come in, and know how my high-maintenance boyfriend likes his French cuffs clipped. Alterations are fairly expensive- $25 for original hem, but they do a good job. Laundry and dry cleaning are cheap. read more

There's a reason why every time I try another cleaning service (including ones that pick up from and drop off to you home), I always come back to this mom & pop store. The couple are lovely and so friendly. They're always professional and helpful. But what matters most is that they go out of their way to help you. On a recent Sat, I called them to find out what time they close - the owner told me they close at 5pm. It was already 5:06pm - she could sense my disappointment so she asked me how far away I was and when I told her my location, she said to come over, she'll stay open until I got there, which she did! How amazing is that?! I was so grateful, I had a car that afternoon (which I don't usually have access to) and a small and rare window away from work and parenthood to get errands done. Any big/corporate business would've stuck to the official closing time, but not these guys. Highly recommend them! read more

Very friendly folks who run the business. I use them regularly for a few years now and they try to offer good service. If I needed something done to a shirt they would always comply with my request with ease. I continue to trust them with my dirt laundry consistent of collard shirts and slacks etc. if you have a special need or request its best to tell them ahead of time as you are dropping off the clothes. read more

Best cleaners in Chicago! They do a fantastic job and are extremely kind! They are an excellent choice for alterations too!

I live across the street from this place so started going by default, but have been very pleased with them for the past 3.5yrs. Owners are a very friendly Korean couple who are always smiling, and I really love seeing business owners take such pride in their work. They have gotten some brutal stains out of my dress shirts! The woman (I wish I knew her name) also does excellent seamstress work. Her prices are very fair for the sewing work and the cleaning prices are very reasonable as well. read more

Just moved to the neighborhood and needed a place to get a dress hemmed and pressed. While the hem looks fine, I thought it was overpriced ($25 for basic hem, knee length A line dress) and although the woman told me when I dropped it off that they'd press it, they clearly didn't even try, as there's significant creases all over it. When I asked the woman about it today, she said that it's a certain type of material that can't be pressed, and that's simply not true. And, if that were the case, I would have expected her to say that when I dropped it off. I doubt I'll go back, there's plenty of other cleaners in the area. read more
