Nice little neighborhood bakery in Key West. Fresh baked goodies every morning... which I made a morning ritual while I was there.

We checked out this bakery when we were in Key West for the day. I can't stop thinking about the delicious (!) egg and croissant sandwich I had. It was so good. My friends split a build-your-own sandwich and liked it just as much. It was plenty big for the two of them. Would love to go back to try the pastries and coffee. ;-) read more

There's no parking or dining area it's a walk to place only. After 5 days of trying to Park I finally was able to illegally park and run in. It's really small and not a big selection. I got the apricot croissant and Dutch apple danish they were $3.25 each. Wow. They were the most amazing bakery items I have ever had it was worth the 5 days of driving in circles. Why 5 stars? Because I think this was, indeed, the best key lime pie we had in Key West. --- --- --- While my wife drove down to Key West, I handled the very important task of researching where the best key lime pie in Key West was. I found some list online that rated Old Town Bakery #1, and saw a couple others that mentioned them, as well. They seemed to get the most love, so I was convinced that our trip would not be complete without stopping here. After we checked into our hotel, we walked about two minutes toward the heart of the city, and boom, there was Old Town Bakery! It couldn't have been more unassuming, and definitely looked like the type of place you'd never have thought of visiting if it weren't for Yelp. It honestly just looked like kind of a run down, old house. But even walking by when the door was open, you would catch whiffs of amazingness, which convinced us further that we would definitely have to stop in here. We spent our 48 hours in Key West absolutely stuffing our faces beyond belief. On this particular day, we had a big lunch, visited another spot for dessert and drinks (key lime coladas, which was basically a 2nd dessert) and then hit up Old Town Bakery for a slice of this illustrious key lime pie. Please don't judge us. While the slice was small, we each took a tiny bite just to try it, before agreeing to put the rest in the hotel fridge for our post-dinner dessert. Even we have limits, apparently. I have to say, I don't know what was in this key lime pie to make it different, but it was the best I'd ever had. I guess it just had a little extra TLC inside, because it just felt like it had been more carefully crafted than some of the other, more commercialized KLP's that I've had. I wish we'd had the stomach capacity to grab a couple more slices, and even some of the other treats from Old Town, but our bellies were completely tapped out. However, our very limited experience at Old Town Bakery was definitely of the 5-star variety. read more

Ugh not impressed! It's like a hole in the wall kinda place. I was thinking it would be closer in appearance to Key Lime Pie Co. But either way as long as the product tastes good I don't care as much what the inside/outside looks like. I came here for Key Lime Pie because I saw the high reviews here on Yelp. I walked in and there were about 5 other people standing there and two at the register. When the couple at the register walked away, the associate just looked up. Didn't say "I can help who's next" or anything. So I had to look at everyone else and ask each of them "have you been helped?" It was weird. It was also really cramped in there with just 5 people. Anyways I ordered the key lime pie and she boxed it up for me and put a fork in there which was nice. It was $3.75 for a slice and believe me this was a SMALL slice. Definitely not worth $3.75. I'd say $2.50 at most. But in all honesty I am glad it was small because it was NOT good. I ate 8 slices of key lime pie during my trip to Key West and this was my least favorite. The crust is hard and dark (not sure if they burned it or if that's supposed to be the color?) Also the crust has a weird seasoning/spice in it (couldn't put my finger on what it was. Maybe rosemary or something.) Whatever the seasoning/spice was, it did not belong in any dessert. Yuck. All in all, not a place I'd go to again and wouldn't recommend it for Key Lime Pie. read more

The food was good . The menu and breads changes as you would expect from a bakery. The presentation could be greatly improved. I ordered multiple sandwiches to take on the boat as I had indicated. They put them in brown paper bags which don't do well on ice . Also they didn't label the sandwiches so we had to open each one to figure out with was which. I ordered early and tipped well but I should have waited until I saw how they were delivered to me. The lady said she could have boat wrapped them but didn't offer to at time of pick up. read more

This? This is quintessential Key West. I've visited Old Town in two separate visits to Key West. Both times the experience was the same - amazing. There is a line in the morning but for this New Yorker, it is worth it. Scone - meh, but I never met a scone I liked so I am not a good judge. Anyway I'm going back tomorrow to get the OMG Brownie and try the ham & cheese croissant. Absolutely love the walk up window post Covid. Easy to order and they make the food quick. Breakfast sandwiches (ham,egg,cheese) were the best we had on the brioche bread. Key lime pie here is not like the others. The crust is ginger snap and they don't put preservatives in their pastries which should tell you that they are always freshly baked. I was told by a tour guide that whatever doesn't sell by the end of the day is donated to the homeless. Food for thought! read more

Also had the raspberry scone-good texture but raspberries seemed either canned or frozen, definitely not fresh. Stopped here on my last day in the Keys and regret not going every day. Pastries were delicious. The highlight for me was the croissant sandwich. It was simple: scrambled eggs and pico de gallo on a croissant. BUT the croissant was so fresh and flaky, the eggs fluffy, and the pico de gallo so fresh and flavorful. After a week long hunt for key lime pie I have to say they have the Keys! It is not the gel, more fluffy with the perfect graham crust! The perfect tanginess mixed with sweet. These are the best croissants I've ever had since I visited Paris. They also have an amazing assortment of cheeses and fresh bread. On Fridays they make rye bread. Their French / brioche bread is baked in a coffee can just like my grandmother used to do. It's pricey but it's worth it. Croissants are $4 a piece read more
