Enjoying all of the distillery options at Old Soldier.

Excellent distillery in Tacoma! We tried several different options here but we decided we both liked the Raisin Bourbon the best and purchased a bottle of it! All of the tasting options were amazing but the bottle we bought was the one we enjoyed the most. We don't have much in the way of guests coming to try this lovely bourbon so we are going to take our time enjoying this one!

We did a Groupon tour. I wasn't sure what to expect, but was blown away by the passion of the owner, Andy. Awesome guy. My wife and I spent 90 minutes learning the ins and outs of bourbon and whiskey distilling, and got to sample all his offerings, as well as some not yet available! Pro top: try the butterscotch and the raisin flavors. Seriously good. I didn't go into the tour expecting to buy anything -- I'm more of a beer guy -- but we ended up buying a box worth of bourbon and whiskey for ourselves and to give away to friends. the place itself is unassuming, in the basement of a small storefront. Easily accessible by the Tacoma light rail. We happened to be staying in downtown Tacoma, so it was very easy to get to.

We came in for a tour and I have to say that not only is the tasting room amazing, cozy, and historical but the entire operation is top notch!!! Their whiskey is some of the best that I've tasted and I've tasted all across the country. The guys are down to earth, and offer a great product. I'm super excited to be their first review, but even more excited that I tasted the products from the first distillery in Tacoma!!!! Much love guys, and wish you the best!!!

Enjoying a taste in Tacoma's best kept secret distillery.

Those flavored Vodka's? Wow the flavors are amazing. Maybe a little club soda and you're set! No other mixer required. Very nice base Vodka. Fresh, clean with a herbal flavor on the back side. Loved the Lemon Drop, Espresso & Fruit Punch. Apple Pie definitely tastes like apple pie with that cinnamon coming in at the end. Raspberry Scone smells creamy and ends with that vanilla scone on the back end. And let's not forget about the Bourbon. Smooth with caramel notes. I left with 2 bottles but will be back for more!

We went here when we were by a nearby brewery for lunch and beer and this place was right up the road. We had a tasting and had a quite a variety of the products they have. I got their Lemon Drop Vodka which was amazing! I also purchased one of their own award winning products which was an espresso vodka . It was so good and I can see why it's one of their best selling products. Both the Lemon Drop and the Espresso vodkas lived up to their name perfectly. The other tasted great as well but what I purchased was definitely my favorites from here!

We stopped in for a visit and Paul took care of us, and I've got to say, he made the whole thing feel like we were getting a private tour from someone who lives and breathes the craft. He was friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and answered every question we tossed his way without ever making it feel like a lecture. We ordered a couple of flights, and the best part was being able to mix and blend different whiskey styles ourselves. It wasn't just "sip and move on", we actually got to play with flavor, compare notes, and build our own combinations. That alone made the visit memorable, but the whiskey itself sealed the deal. Rich and full of character, every pour had something interesting to say. What we appreciated most was that we never felt rushed. We were given time to explore, talk through the flavors, enjoy the moment, and just be there. It's rare to find a place where the experience feels personal and unrushed, and Copperworks nailed it. If you're in Seattle and want something unique, educational, and delicious, visit here. Sit down, take your time, and let the whiskey do the talking.

I just wished it came in the classic copper mug, but it was just as tasty either way. The Gig Harbor location closes at the end of December ( of 2025). We were over in Gig Harbor this past weekend to see a friend and were actually surprised to to see this tasting room still open. We knew that Heritage has closed many tasting room locations already and just assumed that the Gig Harbor location closed some time ago. But nope, they are still around for a few more weeks. We got some spirits here. I got some miniature bottles of vodka and whiskey and Steve got a spirit that has an amazing Earl Grey flavor so we definitely had a nice purchasing "Hurrah" here before this location closes. Despite all tasting rooms closing Heritage Distilling will still exist as it is going to a production only operation.
