We should have come here a long time ago! There was a wine tasting going on when we arrived and we got to try five different types of wine for $ 10.00. The gentleman that was conducting the wine tasting was incredibly knowledgeable about all the wine that was presented and you could tell that he had a real love for what he was doing. The wines that were featured could be bought by the bottle if you wanted. There is a downstairs from the tasting room with a wine shop where there are other selections in addition to the wines that are being featured for the tasting. The tasting room is fun, relaxing... some might call it retro but it has a delightful charm to it which makes it very unique and there is a little dog that will greet you as well which is precious. The gentleman that was running the wine tasting said that each tasting usually features different wines so right then and there is a reason to go back. The wines that we tasted were of an excellent quality and from all over the world. Black Door Wine Company is definitely a place to try if you love wine!

OBK Winery or completely spelled out is On Blended Knee Winery is a newer one that has opened up in town and it's so very, very good. The couple that owns it are so friendly and sweet... so easy to talk to and visit with which makes the experience all the more positive and pleasant. We went in and got a tasting of white wines and really enjoyed them all. Such good quality and what an amazing flavor profile! We bought a bottle by the time we were out the door and had another session of enjoyment with their wine. The wine tasting we had was their whites called First Dance, Photographer and Classic Encounter. All three were wonderful! I am sure the red wines are equally great but alas I can't drink red wine much anymore. The tasting room is great. It's relaxing, inviting and has a nice atmosphere to it. I am sure it gets busy sometimes but while we were here which was early that was not the case at all and it was so nice and chill. Really a great winery and it isn't too far from where we live so it's a nice, short distance when we make that return trip... and there will indeed be more of those!

I started at the top thinking I'd be "responsible" and work my way down methodically like a scientist. Once we had our fill of cider and burgers, we strolled across the parking lot and wandered into this little gem. Right away, my buddy and I shared a flight of whiskies while pondering life. Well... actually, pondering why I haven't heard of this place before and I can't wait to bring the queen of my empire here! I actually bought a couple of bottles of the Cold Brew Whiskey to take to her in Texas. She'll be so happy as much as I was when I first tasted this. We tried some of the locals finest and even had a Cold Brew Iced Whiskey with some caramel sauce... SO DAMN GOOD! We also had the Blackberry Bramble! Dudes!!! Dangerously refreshing! The folks tending bar were great! Which made the experience even all the better! I'm just down the road a ways in MV, and will definitely be coming back with friends and Familia!
