Top Down is our favorite brewery in the Bonney Lake Sumner Puyallup area! The space and the people are so welcoming and friendly. The beers on offer vary from clean and crisp pilsners and Kölsch to deep and flavorful stouts and IPAs. My favorite things are that they are dog friendly, let you bring in you own food, and have really good tasting beer blends that add extra flavor and options. They also serve beer, have three TVs that are playing the most popular games, and often partner with the community to host events like book club meetups, paint notes, fundraisers, and parties. For those not beer inclined, they have 2-3 wines, local ciders, and house-made seltzers. They are kid friendly too and have various board games to play to keep entertained. We celebrated a family birthday this weekend with a party for about 25 people at Top Down Brewing and it could not have been better! Our space was clearly marked reserved and we were given time to get set up before the birthday girl arrived. Our bartender was so very knowledgeable and helpful and on top of everyone's orders. The stout was decent. The mango raspberry cider was the stand-out. My friend got a black and tan, but it wasn't floated, and the menu didn't really detail that. I got a crowler of the cider to go. Friendly staff. Good vibe. A third of the menu was blends of other beers. I'm not necessarily against that, but it's not my favorite. I generally prefer to have more options of individual beers. read more

Recently visited Top Down Brewing after having it on my list for a while now, and we'll definitely be returning! Inside of this brewery is suuuper Instagrammy aesthetic, which is a nice change from the dark woods and string lights from most breweries. There's also outdoor patio seating, which was shaded while we were there, which was nice. I had their Rite of Passage IPA, which was pretty good. They also have wines and ciders, which my boyfriend took advantage of with the cider. He tried the blackberry and really liked it. Love that this place is so adamant about being family-friendly, and is owned by two local families. They're also dog-friendly! We'll definitely be returning! read more

Opted for a reasonably priced taster and all four beers were great. Ample seating, casual atmosphere, and I appreciated that it wasn't a warehouse format brewery which is so popular these days! Great spot for meeting up with friends to chat, play games, or watch local sports. I have been here a few times over the past few months and enjoyed the ciders. Food trucks are great. Location is great. Nice outside seating. Staff is friendly and attentive. This place has sooooo many kids inside. They have an industrial setting so when the babies are crying nobody is enjoying their 11 dollars beers. ANY OTHER BREWERY. Don't waste your time. Amazeballs! The beer here is so good! What is unique about this brewery is that they do not have fridges or kegs! Everything is served directly from all the tanks you see inside! A bit of a hidden place as it is right next to an apartment complex. Parking can be a little tough if crowded. With most breweries that don't serve food, I assumed that you would have to go up to the bar to order. Greg saw me taking a picture of the menu and came over right to our table to take our order! Super awesome service! Not only did he take our order, he also recommended that we definitely try couple samples! Glad I did as the sample made me change my mind! What also is unique about Top Down Brewing is that they offer the blends! Unfortunately it is difficult to sample those so you just guys got to trust. Judging by just the pure "bred" itself, I would say you probably can't go wrong. Super awesome staff and great beers! Can't wait to be back! Very happy to see a new brewery opening up in Sumner! Whew! This place is popular and very busy! That's a good thing I guess since lots of breweries and cideries have had to close due to the pandemic. So it's good to see them successful and doing well! Steve and I tried a couple different beers here and a cidery from a nearby winery(I got a review in the works for a separate trip to the winery for a later time). We had a smaller pour of their pilsner which was very good! Crisp, refreshing with a hint of that biscuity flavor I always love experiencing in a flavor profile! I haven't seen it often but Top Down blends their beers with other ingredients, sometimes with two of their beers to make a uniquely tasting and a bit more comolex beer on it's own. I had a darker beer that takes after banana bread. This beer had a great nutty flavor with the blend it resulted in. Lots of good choices for simple beers and blends and that cider from Shiloh Estates they had on tap was excellent! Glad to see they have other local businesses with their drink options on guest taps! After seeing really good reviews, my friend and I decided to check out this brewery while visiting the Puyallup area. They have some very unique beers including some blends! I tried the banana bread (hefe & stout blend) and it was delicious! My friend and I shared a flight and enjoyed trying a bunch of the great beers here. The flight is worth the .50¢ instagram worthy surcharge for sure! Atmosphere is great, lots of games to play if you run out of conversation with your friends. Will definitely come back the next time I'm visiting! read more

We ended up at Top Down for the first time while waiting for a table at a nearby restaurant on a Friday evening. Live music, packed full of people laughing and talking and playing table top games. The atmosphere was small and quaint like something out of a hallmark movie. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and happy to talk about all of the menu. 10/10 on the entire experience. Service was great! Very attentive and polite. It was a nice afternoon so I sat outside. Beer was good too. I got an IPA and a flight. My two favorite were the Hefeweizen (lots of banana and clover) and the pale ale was also very good. If you're hungry, be sure to bring food, they are okay with outside food. It would be very hard to say anything bad about this place. Their beer is exemplary, especially their Rite of Passage IPA which has the 'X Factor'. My wife doesn't even like beer but she loves their German Radler. All the employees are very friendly and efficient. This place is also very dog friendly. Highest recommendation!! read more

This is a delightful little gem just south of Lake Tapps. We were greeted by a beautiful atmosphere and a very knowledgeable bartender who explained the nuances of each beer as well as the blends they make. Two clean bathrooms and a LOT of games to play rounded it out. Love this place and can't wait to come back! read more
