We absolutely love Hot Topic, even the Gothic dark element, and especially the pink girly element. I think it's really awful that some people are complaining about prissy girly pink products. Annoying to read that because they still carry plenty of dark alternative stuff in here as well as catering for sexy pink girlie crowds, but apparently the goth crowd wants nothing to do with the girly crap. Is it just prejudice and hatred? Intimidation? I loathe that sort of loathing. Pretty disgusting. Anyway, the mall is better for this HT, and the fact that it caters to several crowds and styles and lots of individuals is a sexy thing, not a shameful thing. It's shameful to be mad about it. If it was a little cheaper I would definitely give it five.

Some of the items are a little too trendy for my own tastes, but they do have a lot of nice items that I would consider if I was looking to buy. There is an underwear section in the back corner of the store. I saw a very tiny shoe section. They do have some cute accessories, the scarves were beautiful. Prices were mid range, some items seemed a little high to me based on the quality. This store also carries jeans, I know denim can be hard to find for the curvy shopper. This store is not too far from the food court and is on the upper level.

Great retail therapy at Talbots today with my daughter…read more This store is one of only five Talbots clearance stores in country, so we are lucky to have it closeby. Clearance stores --unlike outlets-- sell excess original stock from Talbots retail stores and Talbots catalog sales. Whereas, outlets sell a lot of items made only for sale at the outlets and never sold in Talbots retail stores. Almost everything today was an extra 80% off already reduced prices. Wow! But, there are no returns permitted, so use the very nice dressing room. This large store is well organized into misses, petites, and plus sizes sections. Plus there are displays of shoes, scarves, handbags, and jewelry. The racks and turnstiles are kept pristine by the helpful, conscientious employees. My daughter found classic shorts in white and navy at only $10. each plus a bathing suit cover. I bought four pieces for only $69. after 80% extra taken off already reduced prices, two full zip jackets and two tops that I will wear starting now. I have worn Talbots brand clothing for decades. It is well made and fits well. It washes well and maintains its shape. Parking is great. No rest room.

A lot of items are only available in one size or color/ pattern. Everything that's on the floor is all they have. Mix of all seasons. I will say the service here was great; I was greeted and asked if I needed help and oriented to the store's various section and fitting rooms. The fitting room attendant was very nice. I'll come back and check it out again to see if I can strike gold, but it's definitely hit or miss. I was looking for a more formal summer dress and while they had several at great prices as low as $20, I didn't like any of the patterns or cuts. Note the store is kind of geared towards the older crowd but they also have more traditional/ classic pieces that could work for any age.

Five Stars for amount of stock in this large store that was neatly organized and for the great staff! What we liked at the Niskayuna location: *Clothing etc. is displayed nicely. *Store is clean and orderly. *It is well organized and neatly arranged on racks, shelving, and tables. *Signs for sales were displayed prominently. *Staff were helpful and courteous. They were eager to provide assistance when asked. *When there was a customer in line as I was in process of checking out, another cash register was opened so she did not have to wait. *My cashier looked for additional discounts for me. *Prices are better than at the Gap and American Eagle. *Returns are processed quickly at store. Also, there is lots of continent parking. One improvement to this store and nearby Ulta would be to install automatic door openings (double doors) for better handicapped accessibility. I know it's inside a mall, but Barbie is always looking for a steal or something special, and she not only didn't find anything she really wanted in here, but it was obvious that if even if she had she wouldn't have found it cheap enough to meet her needs. The girls helping me could clearly tell I was irritated but refused to give me cash back, even though I had destroyed the visa gift card I used to pay with so I had no way of providing that to them (since it had been used up). Recently adjusting to my new body and was so nervous to go and shop for a new outfit for a date. I was very warmly greeted by a beautiful woman named, Kendra. Not only did she stock my room with gorgeous outfits, hype me up, and build up my confidence, her and her warm team of staff helped me make a normally stressful time, stress-free by catering and entertaining my children. I left in tears because of the amount of love and care i was shown today. Kendra gets 10 stars in my book. And i think that buckle has truly found a diamond when they hired her. Thank you so much!

As I don't shop here myself (and having been deterred by the company's politics) I had no expectations when I entered the store. First, the store is large, handsomely laid out, and conveys the (correct) impression of high quality. I was approached by two salespeople who were very nice and very helpful. It pretty much screams high quality by your shopping experience. The items I selected were full price, and not inexpensive, but were clearly well made. At check out they were carefully wrapped and placed in a shopping bag (kudos for not appearing to charge for the bag and for not using plastic.) I would go back here in a moment. Factoring the dirth of high quality options in the Albany area it's nice to have this here.
