It's real clean inside and there's alot to choose from. Some pretty nice looking girls work there!!

I walked around South Shore Center in Alameda to kill some time while I got my car washed. I saw a 75% off banner in the window for the Old Nave store after the holidays so I thought I'd peek my head in and have a look-see. I noticed how the layout of the store had changed and it was a bit off-putting but I went with the flow. However the whole time I was in there I noticed this horrible smell that reminded me of Urinal Cakes or some other fake cleaning smell. Within minutes my head started to hurt and I finally gave up and made my way toward the exit. I happened across an employee and asked if someone had spilled perfume. He said that this store was being tested with a fragrance that they PUMP IN TO THE STORE. What on earth for? I would really like to know what their hopes are by doing this. There are many people that are sensitive to fragrances in such large doses and it may be offensive even to those that usually don't mind a nice scent. I hope that more people complain about this and that their experiment is a failure demonstrated by loss of sales. read more

I love Old Navy in general, but this one really takes the cake on customer service. As soon as my husband and I enter with our 3 kids, an employee was already there to make sure everything was okay or if we needed help with anything. Every single section I went to there was someone there to see if I needed help with anything and if everything was going alright. Then of course the usual comment of oh your kids are so cute. Thanks! Haha! The place is clean and organized. Once the see something messed up, the fix it right away. If I didn't live as far as I did from this location, I'd be back all the time!! read more

The staff was very friendly and because of the 35% off sale I got 8 pairs of workout pants for 90 bucks! Amazing!

Last night's visit to this store went better than expected thanks to sales associate Allison (forgive me if I spelled your name incorrect). Just went to buy a pair of pants and I wasn't able to find the dark blue one I wanted. Didn't want to bother anyone so I decided to settle for another pair. At the checkout Allison asked if I found everything OK, I said yeah kinda. She noticed a hesitation in my voice and asked what was wrong, I explained I was looking for the dark blue pants but it was OK no big deal. She insisted to let her find them for me, she checked her inventory and found that she had more in the back room. She seems to enjoy her job and she managed to get me exactly what I was looking for and even got my to buy 2 pairs of pants instead of one. That was some great customer service right there. My friend and I happened in this store this afternoon, May 2nd, while visiting South Shore Center. I found a cute top however it wasn't in my size. I asked two employees if there were more and was told that the stock was on the floor. But wait.. They then asked another employee who asked my size, ran in back and came back with the shirt in my size! Now on to the registers. The young lady at the register was by herself as loudly pointed out by the lady in front of me in line. She helped me next and I immediately told her she was doing a great job (with 35 years in Customer Service I feel like an expert). She chatted casually with my friend and I while ringing up my purchases. At one point I mentioned a piece of clothing that I felt was beyond me due to my age. She quickly said that the two of us ladies (60+ BTW) would look great in anything... And she was sincere! Thanks to your great staff for a better than ever expected visit to Old Navy! read more

Every time I buy clothing from Old Navy it comes apart with in weeks. I refuse to spend my money here.

What's that funky smell!? The store looks nice, but they now pump in a disgusting scent that makes me want to vomit. I couldn't get past the first rack of clothes because my eyes were watering and my sinuses were freaking out from the cheap perfume smell. A sales associate informed me that the heinous odor comes in via the air vents. WTF? I actually wanted to shop (which is not my favorite activity), but was forced to leave this store in search of non toxic air. read more

The selection for back to school is horrible right now...where is the extra mark downs on the clearance...disappointed.

Old Navy has the most beautiful clothes I've ever seen especially the back to school clothes and the rock star jeans are amazing I love shopping there i always get something I never walk out empty handed lol I'm a proud costumer read more

This old navy location is a mess. I don't know where to start. The employees are rude, the store is an absolute mess, and they are never organized in terms of checkout. It is always so hard to find your size in anything and when you ask an employee they will either say "we don't have it" or pretend to go to the back and look. The signage is totally wrong 95% of the time and when you get to the register the employees make you seem dumb for thinking an item was a certain price when it is "clearly" not. Fix your signage and maybe you won't have to deal with confused customers. Avoid coming here Friday-Sunday because you will be waiting in line forever. I went in on Saturday with a few friends who were purchasing stuff and we waited in line for almost 15 minutes while there were only 2 cashiers. The line was almost in the men's section and only TWO cashiers . The management needs to learn a better way to spread out their staff. This place is sad and I wish corporate would recognize it and get some help read more

Love old navy- cheap clothes that last long enough (do you really want a dress that will last ten years..you wouldnt be wearing it by then anyways!). Old navy always has a huge clearance rack that you would actually buy stuff from. I like this location better then the bay st location. Easier to get in and out of. I just wish they had maternity here. read more

I hate this place mainly because 1) they have the same clothes for months; 2) they're usually ugly clothes; 3) there are always ladders in the way. And after 5 minutes of walking around, I start to feel really hot. It is just way hot in there. But I do love going in there sometimes and looking through their clearance to find basics at really low prices, but it doesn't help that it's a complete mess though. read more

I like coming here because I somehow always find something for a super good deal. Came here a few days ago for the $19 jean sale and I never thought to buy jeans here but they fit nicely and I don't have to hem them because the length is perfect even for a shorty like me. Cam in just after opening with my 6 year old son to pick up some shoes for him. None of the employees greeted me. The store was a complete mess. When we got to the register, the cashier didn't even make eye contact. She looked up, saw me standing there, and ignored me completely. I gave her a few minutes, in case she was doing something, and finally I asked "are you open to check out?", she responded with an eye roll, and a snarky tone, "yeah....". I brought my stuff up, and she scanned everything, and then went right back to messing with stuff behind the counter. I asked if they did the chip, and she responded in the same rude tone as before. She didn't speak to me any further, and just put the bag on the counter with the receipt, and turned her back to me when everything was paid for. I was pretty shocked to receive so much attitude. I don't live in the area, but my family does. I feel bad for anyone who deals with this. She wasn't wearing a nametag, but I did respond in a survey with her cashier number. read more

I am a previous employee at this specific location and I love seeing my old friends here. This previous time I went I was told I couldn't do a price adjustment with a photo of the receipt, but just a week ago an associate was actually the one who recommended me to do that. Due to the fact that I use to work here I know that you can enter the information on the receipt to get a price adjustment if the barcode is not scanning. It's fine that if they prefer the actual receipt just let me know for next time instead she was kinda rude about and told me next time bring your receipt bc the other person had to give me an override. That was not true I was standing there and the other person said just try it and see. I felt like it wasn't that big of deal for her to just check and I understand that it's the holiday season but it just seem like she was irritated. I gave it 3 stars bc of my previous employment here with the awesome people I use to work with. Eventually she tried it and it went through. This is not to shame the person but hopefully to help them bc you never know that the next person you could be helping could possibly be the Ceo of the company read more

I love the new format of the store since they rearranged the layout. I've seen an improvement in customer service as well. Came here during their massive 50% in store sale. Another customer looked at the pants, looked at the sign and said, "Is this really 50% off!?" Love that Old Navy makes you look good while on a budget. There were quite a few people here, but the staff were helpful and friendly. read more

over this past year or so Old Navy has changed ALOT !!!!!! more trendier clothes are being offered at a inexpensive price ! currently old navy is offering ITEM OF THE WEEK , where you by the item of the week and get one stamp per week. when you collect 5 stamps u get the 6th item of the week FREEEEEEEEEEEE ..I haven't really gone to any other old navys but this old navy is clean and very organized.The customer service is ok,nothing special about but not BAD .They greet you when you come in and help you. In the Dressing rooms they carry your clothes to your stall and bring back different sizes and colors if you ask . Another great thing about old navy is that they offer size S to XXXL , i am a M so this doesn't really affect me but its great for other people who are a little larger than some and still want to dress cute. This Old Navy now has MATERNITY !! yeah !! OLD NAVY HAS CHANGED FOR THE BEST , FORGET ABOUT THE PAST AND GO TO OLD NAVY AND IM SURE YOU WILL SEE THE GREAT DIFFERENCE ! Great staff at this store! I went in today with a return from the website. The managers were totally on my side as we called the 1800 number and tried to figure out why I couldn't return anything. Even with my 1 and 3 year olds becoming impatient, the staff stayed sweet and supportive. Amazing! read more

REALLY AWFUL customer disservice "free mp3" scam on "Black Friday," the biggest Christmas shopping day after Thanksgiving. Old Navy's ads promised free mp3 players to the first customers who spent more than $20. I shopped in Alameda on Wednesday and chose lots of things to buy first thing Friday morning when the doors opened at 5AM. The employee who put my selections behind the back counter said the mp3s were for the first people who spent at least $20 on Friday at 5PM, "first come, first serve." Not one employee, ad, or sign mentioned that there would be a "mp3 qualifying bracelet" passed out only to the first 30 or so customers who walked through their front door, rather than mp3s awarded to the first customers who actually brought up and paid for merchandise. It was freezing cold at 4:30AM when most of us early birds arrived, and some of us had casually chosen to patiently sit on the parking lot curb and sip Starbucks, or sit in our cars with the heat on. Customers near the front door allowed their friends to come up to chat, and they were by mere chance able to get in on the mp3 deal others had already waited for. Not one Old Navy representative had mentioned anything about only giving their mp3 promotion to the people who happened to be crowded nearest to the front door. The store manager claimed that corporate only gave their store a few mp3s because most were sent to their "flagship" store in San Francisco, and said there wasn't anything she could do. I was one of the very first people through the cash register line, but I was so pissed off I returned everything I bought, and called customer service to complain about the bad faith bait and switch scam. The customer service hotline guy took down my complaint and said corporate offices would take the "suggestion" to improve their communication, but he didn't take down my phone number or email to have anyone call me back about it. The mp3 scam was a total farce and a rip-off to the 100 or so people who arrived in the wee hours eager to spend money. I will never spend my money there again-- they don't give a flying damn about making customers happy , about providing clear directions for their pitches, or about honoring their promotions in a fair way. read more

This is one of the most disorganized Old Navy's ever. I went in today looking for a specific item (Black rockstar mid rise jeans) and the place was a calamity. I was not greeted, acknowledged or helped at all. In fact, I was sitting on the floor in front of the denim section hunting through disorganized piles for about ten minutes when I started to wonder if anyone worked there at all. Finally, an employee (someone with an Old Navy lanyard, I checked) was walking by so I said "Hey!" trying to get his attention, but he was too busy texting on the floor to notice. In fact, as I was leaving I saw a couple employees gossiping on their phones. But the story continues to the dressing room where I was greeted with a very casual employee who basically said "Yo!". The store looked like Christmas just ended and a couple shirts I looked at were on wrong hangers and kids clothes were mixed in. The icing on the cake was at the register where I was asked "if I found everything alright." I answered honestly. I said "barely" and told the girl at the register (cashier #2536178 transaction #7184) that I had no help when I needed it and that the store was disorganized and messy and everyone was gossiping or texting on the floor and it was the worst Old Navy I had visited. She didn't say anything or offer a means of customer complaint. I think this store needs an intervention. It looked like a Ross. read more
