I seriously can't get over visiting beautiful Marty at With Herb With Love in Alameda. Her shop…read morefeels like stepping into a little corner of Paris. Charming, eclectic, beautiful, and always full of unexpected treasures. I always find something special here: beautiful soaps and oils, fun nostalgic T-shirts, and the cutest cat-themed pieces. We've found cat earrings that my daughter absolutely loves seeing me wear, and this time I found the most gorgeous black cat scarf for her. ‍ And of course, I always manage to find something for myself too. This visit it was three camisoles that I can wear under things or on their own, practical and fun at the same time as it takes me back in time. Marty has such a wonderful eye for unique pieces, and every visit feels like a little treasure hunt. It's one of those special Alameda shops that just keeps me happy that I hope doesn't go away!

Walking down Park on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon, I peeked into what was the back entrance of a…read morecute vintage shop. Really, I thought immediately the place was out of my price range, but a friendly stranger told me I should go look inside, offering that you could do cute date nights and make your own scents here, but then she assured me the place was black owned, and I HAD to at least see what gems were hiding inside. And there were so many! Bath salts you could mix to bring home, an oil scent lab, and all sorts of adorable accessories that caught my eye: lacy socks, perfect for Docs; some earrings at a great price point; and some sunglasses that no one else will be wearing ANYWHERE, for a mere $20! The woman working the store was just so friendly, and told us to cash is Queen in here store, if you know what I mean? But, I've found my favorite place to invest my modest disposable income at when I'm in Alameda. I'll be back to crate an oil scent roller...for $15! That's absurd. And it was sweet the store has my father's name: To Herb With Love. My mom must've been sending me angel messages.

I don't blow my money, so I come sometimes and don't even buy anything. There is just so many different types of things and food and drinks and jewelry that you may find something you didn't even know you needed. The snacks and food options are amazing. Kooky international cookies and sweet and random flavors of foods and drinks, it's just a wonderland of cool random things. The prices can be ridiculous so you have to choose wisely. Sometimes the staff can be a little absent, meaning they don't really seem like they want to interact with us. I get it, retail sucks. And not every one of them is distant, there are some real gems in there too. I just love this place and I hope it doesn't succumb to rent hikes or loss of sales and it disappears.

Wow, this is the best World Market I've ever been to. Who would've known! I stopped by this past…read moreweekend and was impressed by the massive size of both the parking lot and inside of the store. The whole place was clean and organized, and the shelves were stocked full of awesome and unique products on a Saturday morning. I picked up some laceys almond & dark chocolate toffee wafer cookies, sonoma creamery parmesan and cheddar crisps, and keogh's irish potato chips with real irish butter. And after browsing all of the easter-themed goodies, I couldn't resist getting a bag of kitkat bunnies as well. A worker saw my arms full and offered to get me a basket (he ran all the way to the front of the store and back). The care and effort shown was definitely appreciated. Customer service altogether was outstanding. I was greeted with a smile at entry, checked on multiple times by different employees while shopping, and my transaction at the purchase counter was quick and easy, with two employees opening up additional registers as they saw a line forming. I usually have a positive experience at World Market regardless of location, but based on my recent visit the Oakland store is superior in every way!
