This store has awesome finds and I love coming here! The owner sticks the cutest clothes that are unique so the selection is much better than other kids stores. I just found Kelly's Corner recently and was very impressed with the amount of inventory, variety of kids clothes, kids toys and accessories, and also women's clothes and accessories too. Not only resale but also new products esp. toys. This is also a good place for nursing supplies. Every neighborhood needs a shop like this and it's a solid business in the Laurel district. I still love this place ... it is a great place to consign my kids clothes and now she's added women's consignment so I brought some of my clothes from before kids and my filler clothes from right after having my second until I lost the majority of the excess weight. I am always sure to find great gently use kids clothes in our favorite brands: Tea Collection, Janie and Jack, Zara, Hanna Andersson, Mini Boden, Gap, and even an occasional Naartjie. She also has a great selection of new toys ... lots of Melissa and Doug. This is my go to place to by gifts for kids birthday parties. She tries to have lots of educational toys and books. I often pop in here to get second hand clothes or shoes for my kids. Recently it was my son's 4th birthday and we were all home sick. He had been asking everyday for over a month if his birthday was tomorrow and if he could please have a spider stuffie. He was so sad to miss his birthday at school and I had had no time to buy him a present because we had back ti back illnesses for a month. I called Kelly's corner, they had one and asked if I could pay over the phone and have her toss it out the door to me so as not to infect anyone .she was so sweet and offered to drive the gift to my house (we lived nearby)after work. Stumbled across this place while waiting to get my cell phone screen repaired for the millionth time (hello toddler mom). The first thing I noticed was a heap of bags presumably of new (used) clothes to be sorted and put on racks. I went over to check out the merchandise and was blown away by the selection. I basically bought an entire season of really cute clothes for my 2 year old son on the spot. I pretty much cleared the 3T boys rack. Sorry I didn't leave anything for your kiddos. I'm planning on going back to do the same for my 3 month old today. Lucky for you they'll probably be even more great finds once the new bags are sorted. not much to say that hasn't already been noted in all these glowing reviews, but it's worth repeating that jackie is a lovely & friendly business owner & goes out of her way to be helpful to customers. the store has a great variety of products, both used and new, and i always find something special for my toddler. i also appreciate the friendly chats we have - whether it's about local community resources that she's recommending or a random craft project she thinks my son may enjoy. most recently i picked up a pair of limited edition vans and a cute, graphic baseball cap, both items priced at about 1/3 of retail, but looked essentially brand new. i hope the shop stays around forever, it really is such a gem! read more

Super cute new store in the Dimond District (remember all the fun you had at Oaktober Fest? Well, Kelly's Corner is located right in that neighborhood--bet ya missed it!). Her used clothes are so nice and so cheap! WOW! I love running down there for a couple pieces here and there. Some things still have the original tag on them. Best of all, in my opinion, the store carries the cutest selection of kid friendly gifts. I bought 3 of my friend's children awesome Melissa and Doug gifts, each appropriate for their respective ages, and it came out to $20 something dollars. That's WITH wrapping! Again, WOW. This is the cutest little store! It combined both my love for thrifting and toys for my grandchildren! Our grandsons were going to spend night I wanted to have a little something they could open and play with. And of course a couple of new books to read at bedtime. I picked up Laser Pegs microsparks light up construction set. I thought they were cool because they could be used with Legos. They really are very nice and the blocks were easy to use. Unfortunately one of the lights was defective. The package has instructions and also an email where you can get replacements. They are really helpful and there is no charge for the replacement. I highly recommend them. Would make really cute stocking stuffers! Will definitely visit again. I like the store it gives you an option of purchasing new toys or helping with our carbon footprint and buying preloved toys. read more

I was just here for a baby wearing meeting. She has a great inventory! Maternity and nursing clothing! I saw some maternity jeans with the original tags on them! You gotta check this place out for maternity! Their baby and kids clothing section is huge! Shoes and socks as well. New and used toys. And the owner is super kind and I just love this store. I love this store for several reasons: 1. I got nice stuff to sell and she actually takes it. I am so tired of loading all my stuff up into my car and dragging it in to some snooty consignment store for them to go through it and tell me they're not interested. Only to turn around and look at the clothes in their store and see that the items are not half as nice and stylish as mine. This never happens at Kelly's Corner. If your items are nice they will be consigned. She wont turn you away because "it's not the right season". The only time she turns down my stuff is when she literally has no room for it. And I can usually tell by looking at the racks if its a good time to bring stuff in. 2. I love the prices. You cannot beat Kelly's Corner prices. For the shopper that's excellent because you get some really nice clothing and toys for a reasonable price. I know you might be thinking "well if I sell my stuff there my items wont make a lot of money", but The truth is she's going to take most of your nice stuff while the other consigned places aren't. Look at it this way, she might be giving people great deals but she's taking more of your items, which you would otherwise be donating, giving away for free or hoarding. 3. The toys are hella cool! When I go into a toy store and I don't know what I want to get and the sales person walks up to me and says "check this toy out! It can do A, B C and D, how cool is that"...... I am thoroughly impressed because half of the time when I am buying a toy for a kid I don't really understand what it does. It just looks cool. In Kelly's Corner I can tell the owner spends a lot of time researching what kids like so that she can purchase toys they will actually spend time playing with. 3. The store has expanded. The new location is much bigger, nicer and easier to shop in. There is a gated play area for the little ones to play while you shop. I cant tell you enough how refreshing that is. 4. There is a bathroom. It's not for the public, but she would never turn down a kid that needs to go potty. It so frustrating as a parent to be out shopping with my kids and not be allowed to take them to use the store bathroom. 5. The staff are all very nice, helpful and knowledgable. 6. The new store has great hours; Tuesday -Saturday, I think 10-6. Its closed Sunday and Monday, but rumor has it that more hours are coming soon. 7. There is lots of parking on the Main Street and even lots of free parking on the residential side streets. 8. Kelly's Corner is a big participant in our community. The owner is extremely active here in Oakland and she loves to give back. Which makes me want to shop there more to show her some love and support. read more

Being a new mom means constantly being on the hunt for a good nursing bra. The kind that doesn't have those ridiculous pads in them (Seriously? Boobs with milk in them are big enough!) and the kind that doesn't make you look like you have a uni-boob. Motherhood is hard enough. Shopping for bras is not that fun either because very, very few people know the correct way to measure boobs (the best way is just to try it on). If you're in the same boat, the ladies at Kelly's Corner are here to help! I was introduced to some different brands and looooooove them. One more thing to help me look and feel "normal" again. I have had numerous great experiences here. Thought I already wrote a review, but in checking, I had not! Today, I went in for a swimming suit in 3T, body suits for 12 month, and pants for 12 month. I came out with two swim suits for 3T, 6 body suits for 12 month and 3 pairs of pants for 12 month. All of these things plus more all for $30.00. On my way out, I was intrigued by all of the new Melissa & Doug toys that Kelly's Corner has. I picked up a few to keep in the car. The owner suggested keeping a bag of toys in the car that are used to entertain the kids when out, such as at a restaurant. Brilliant! Unlike just "clicking" on something through Amazon, I was able to get real world advice on educational toys. So wonderful!! The new store is spacious, bright, and well organized. There is a lot of room to move around, every section is organized by size and then type. The owner was helpful and well informed. She was not pushy and even showed me a wonderful book and said to get this "next time" rather than suggesting I purchase it right that minute. I will be back again and again. read more

The new store is great. There's an excellent selection of used clothes, always in good condition, always nicely sorted and put away. And shoes, usually priced between $5 and $10. And the toys! Wonderful stuff. There's an enclosed play area so you can shop in relative peace while your toddler entertains himself. Recent addition: nursing bras. Good idea. read more

We are expecting our first grandchild and my son and daughter in law live in Berkeley so we scoped out some consignment shops in the Oakland area. It is a tiny shop just west of Fruitvale and we found it open on Saturday afternoon after visiting family in Laurel District. The young man working at the desk was very helpful. We were picking up items to accommodate both sexes as we don't know if a boy or girl is going to be born. We found and purchased books and adorable onesies and sweaters. There are toys, monitors, breastfeeding pillow supports, books and all sorts of items for sale. I look forward to coming back when the baby is born as they have everything organized so well and it is obviously a great resource for young families with children. read more

We just had our baby 5 days ago and I was recommended to Kelly's Corner by another shop that did not have the small cloth diapers that I needed. This review is based on their store hours... I drove out of my way to come to this store, based on their good reviews. I arrived a little before 11, put my 2 1/2 month old in the stroller and walked over to the store. They were closed (even though it says on the door they open at 11) and there was no one in the shop with no lights on. I waited until 11:10 and no luck. As mamas know, trying to go places with a 2 1/2 month old is not easy. I won't be going back here because of this frustrating experience. read more

Jackie is one-of-a-kind. Not only does the store carry great used kids clothes (many times cheaper than Goodwill), Jackie is an awesome member of the community. She always donates many things to the Allendale Park Earth Day Clean-Up, has fun things for Halloween, and a great piece of neighborhood information/gossip to share. Recently, we were walking by with my son who was loving a pink sequin dress on the sale rack, and Jackie could see how delighted he was by it, that she took it off the sales rack and gave it to him right then and there. What a lovely surprise...needed a nursing bra fitting. Ellen wasn't there when I popped in but Jackie called her and she appeared 5 mins later. Wow, she really knows how to fit a nursing mama for a bra, something that the fancy department stores (I've had nothing but fails with pregnancy and nursing bras from Nordstrom's) seem unable to relate to. She is extremely knowledgable and was so patient (I had my baby with me, who needed to be picked up a few times). She even offered to hold my baby while I was trying bras on. She also had crib sheet sets, blankets, baby carriers, bath seats, and other accessories at great prices in great shape. Jackie Jackie (Kelly's mom) accepts donations that may not be up to par for consignment but would help local families in need and delivers them personally. As new mom-to-be of twins, I loved my experience at Kelly's Corner. I even got to meet Kelly, an adorable 5 year old. The sweet shop has recently in my hood, the Dimond. The store is decorated so cute, and even though I don't have kids, I have tons of friends with kids, so I love looking at cute clothes for kids, I definitely don't remember such rocking kids clothes when I was little. Kelly's Corner has the best selection of second hand children's clothes and birthday presents of any children's store in the Bay Area, so much better than similar type stores in Lakeshore, Rockridge, etc. I never go anywhere except Kelly's as none of the similar type stores can compare to her selection and prices. Its worth a trip to the Laurel if you are looking for great prices and great selection. Not to mention that the owner, Jackie, is a wellspring of great birthday ideas, craft ideas, and information about things going on with and for children all over the Bay Area. She is so welcoming, fun and knowledgeable that I often just drop in to Kelly's just to touch base with Jackie and see whats new. Going to Kelly's is like going to a real neighborhood landmark and connecting in a way that doesn't happen in most retail establishments this day. I also consign at Kelly's and its been a great way to earn credits to purchase more items for my kids. Sometimes Jackie's daughter, Kelly, who the store is named after, is at the store helping out which is always fun as they are so cute together, a great mother/daughter duo.
