Kelly's Corner has the best selection of second hand children's clothes and birthday presents of any children's store in the Bay Area, so much better than similar type stores in Lakeshore, Rockridge, etc. I never go anywhere except Kelly's as none of the similar type stores can compare to her selection and prices. Its worth a trip to the Laurel if you are looking for great prices and great selection. Not to mention that the owner, Jackie, is a wellspring of great birthday ideas, craft ideas, and information about things going on with and for children all over the Bay Area. She is so welcoming, fun and knowledgeable that I often just drop in to Kelly's just to touch base with Jackie and see whats new. Going to Kelly's is like going to a real neighborhood landmark and connecting in a way that doesn't happen in most retail establishments this day. I also consign at Kelly's and its been a great way to earn credits to purchase more items for my kids. Sometimes Jackie's daughter, Kelly, who the store is named after, is at the store helping out which is always fun as they are so cute together, a great mother/daughter duo. I've been shopping here since this location opened. Love the selection of used clothing, lots of handmade and one of a kind. Great toys/books etc....I dropped off some clothes to consign and the owner was so nice! Knows how to treat her customers well; not pretentious like other boutiques I've gone to. This place is amazing! Incredibly prices on some cute stuff. The store is pretty small but there is a lot of stuff packed in there - from designer clothes to just plain ol' cute baby clothes. We ended up a super packed bag with about 20 to 25 pieces of clothing for under $100. The owner is incredibly friendly and talks you through a few items if you don't know what you're doing (which, i'll admit, I really don't know what to do). She was super sweet and friendly - it's hard to imagine going anywhere else when this place is such a find! read more

I have been shopping here since the opening of this store. It started out in the Dimond as a little hole in the wall and since moving to the Laurel has expanded tremendously. I have consigned many items for credit and used all of my credit for kid's clothes and gifts. I have bought many gifts for myself and others from the local artist's corner. I also carry herbal body products (by The Herbal Eye) in the local artist's corner as well as glass trays and rainbow crystals by D-Vine Creations. I am always greeted upon arrival and thanked for coming. I always find something! I highly recommend this shop!! read more

I stopped in here when I noticed the balloons shortly after Kelly's Corner moved to this location. At first I didn't even focus on the kids' stuff - I was so taken by the artsy craftsy items she had, made with yarn, paper, buttons and more. So many clever, talented folks. Ah, but then the grandmother in me woke up and I began to browse the racks. Unable to decide, it was clear I just needed to bring my daughter in to see the options. A few weeks later, we managed to go over together and picked up a number of things, including some books, some hairclips (very cute). She let our 2 year old play behind the counter because the official play area had to be decontaminated after someone's "accident." AND, she didn't even gripe when my granddaughter mixed up all the pairs of shoes. I was looking for some alphabet blocks and the owner offered to order some for me. The Laurel in Oakland is a hidden gem of a shopping strip with all kind of restaurants new and old, shops, a drop in toddler play place, and Kelly's Corner! I am so lucky to live right up the street because this is one of the best children's used clothing and toy stores in the east bay. Just today I went in looking for rash guards for my boys and found exactly what I needed. Last time I went in for a birthday gift for a 3-year-old and she suggested a great new toy. I could've gotten so much stuff here at reasonable prices that I got online instead. They have a large selection of clothes for kids and mommies, shoes, toys, books, both new and secondhand. There's also an area you can buy local honey and little gifts. I've consigned my kids' clothes and my maternity/nursing there with ease. Whatever isn't taken she can donate for you, or you can take back. Jacki is friendly and very easy to talk to, and always helpful. This is a terrific new consignment shop with a wide range of very reasonably-priced clothes and toys. The owner and her husband are warm and friendly and clearly love the Dimond district. I bought a wonderful Snow White dress for my granddaughter to dress up in for $3.00. If you want to stock up on some earthquake-preparedness clothing for not much money, this is the place to go. If you want some nice designer clothes reasonably priced, this is the place to go as well. The toys are both new and used and chosen for creativity. Lots of cute accessories too for the little girls. They love to make things and there were so many great choices I didn't know where to start. I bought them a kit for making jewelry. This store is my go to for my daughter's clothes since she was a baby. Jackie is the owner, Kelly is her daughter. The clothes are well organized and she only sells cute and clean second hand clothes at a really good price. Jackie is also a major icon in the neighborhood and has all the low down on new businesses in the neighborhood and good deals. The store also has craft section where you can buy local arts and crafts from Oakland artists. She also offers a story time for kids on Tuesday mornings and a play area. I work nearby and sometimes walk here during my break. I have yet to walk out WITHOUT something! I've found cute wooden toys for my daughters, great condition pants (at $2.50-$3 a piece for H&M clothes), and other little knick knacks. I don't spend very much and always go home super happy. During my last visit, I walked out with a Sugarbooger divided suction plate--$14.99 on amazon--for $2 and it was in great condition. I also got 2 haba wooden rattles that looked brand new, plus a third wooden toy for $5. Haba rattles retail for close to $15! read more

This is a great little shop for baby clothes, toys, some gear, etc.! The owner is really personable, friendly and helpful. The prices are awesome! comparable to goodwill even though the clothes are 10 times better, and cleaner, than goodwill. This review is not intended to put down Goodwill at all, this store is just such a step up without any increase in costs. You can also consign your baby goods and the owner is very friendly about the process and encouraging, not the usual humiliating unfriendly process that consigning usually is.
