Bar piece :)
Heliana M.

Some great pieces at this thrift store! I keep coming here since we fell in love with a very old bar piece that was mainly used to keep plates etc and wasn't really for sale anymore and was just there in the corner holding stuff. It had this beach feeling so we quickly fell in love with it. Reasonably priced. We initially paid for transport (although it was too expensive for us) since we had no car but they were really nice to give us the money back when we found transport through a friend. Have had the bar piece for almost a year now and really love it. It is such good use to store all our drinking glass, alcohol, coffee machine and lost of storage inside for table covers and all random stuff you need to put away. The owner is really friendly and nice. They have new stuff coming in all the time so I keep coming to see if there's anything interesting to purchase. Recommend!

Such a great place for odds and ends

#64 I was out with a friend of mine yesterday and as we walked down Grand she noticed some cute jars in a store window. We decided to go in and take a look around the Urban Furniture store. We were greeted with two friendly, "Hello's" as we entered the establishment. We walked directly over to the jars and saw that they were reasonably priced, so we ventured to the counter to ask about purchasing them. The ladies were so helpful that worked there. I explained that we were unable to fit the large box of jars into my car and could we pay and send someone to retrieve them for us later in the day? The ladies said this would be absolutely no problem and they didn't mind holding them for us. She even took a discount off the jars, making them even cheaper. There were lots of people looking around and shopping in the large store while we were there. Urban Furniture has way more than just furniture. They had vintage clothing and shoes on the adjacent side of the shop. There were large pieces of furniture, small pieces, accent pieces and small odds and ends throughout the store. Later in the day when my friend brought my purchase to me he said, "The ladies are so nice at that place--I walked in and they knew exactly who I was and what I came for." I highly recommend Urban Furniture to anyone looking for home goods or wonderful vintage clothing. Stephani Smiles for Urban Furniture ;)

Got this cute wooden decorative item. Priced at $9. (Plants are mine though!)

Wow - this place is amazing. This area has a lot of vintage-y type overpriced spots and I thought this was another one. I was wrong! Looking forward to coming here regularly because I had a such a great experience. This is an actual thrift shop. They employ single mothers, so your money is going to a great cause. My service was professional and personable, so much so that I actually came back later the same day to bring donations. They can't really control the inventory as its donation-based, but they have quality, unique items. The price is right too! Just a reminder: places that take donations don't take everything. There are a lot of factors that go into it. Don't take it personal if they don't take your item.

You can't have them, I already bought them.

Walked in to such a vibe. A few luxury items in glass cases & racks of clothing on the 1st floor. Upstairs there's more beautiful finds--leather jackets, women's clothing, a small men's clothing area, shoes, handbags and from what I noted, good prices. Can't talk about service because we weren't welcomed, approached or otherwise. I don't mind that. We walked out empty handed but will definitely be coming back!

The consignment and re-sale market in The Bay is more competitive than ever. I scored on a pair of vintage Levi 550's for an excellent price during my first visit. I browsed during Michael's time in review of items I brought in to consign. I was able to consign vintage Chanel and a Y's by Yohji Yamamoto in just under a month and a half- not bad for consignment turn around. I've also been able to get direct buy outs for other pieces like Armani collezioni, Ralph Lauren, Comme Des Garçon and Michael provides customer service that is more like making a new friend. ReLove's consignment process is welcoming as they openly share their approach and lend their expertise to truly valuing your items. For items that don't work, they are polite and clear to answer any asks why. You can trust their level of expertise, and I love being able to talk fashion industry headlines while awaiting completion of my consignment. If you are past the point of Wasteland, Second Street USA, Crossroads and BuffaloExchange- give ReLove a chance. Only bring quality items, as they have a discerning eye for a curated selection of the best labels with upheld quality for what is accepted for consignments. Browse to see what they have first, to give you a sense of what to bring in for sustainable resale. I frequent the Oakland location, but have had helpful and friendly convo with the SF boutique when checking on status of active consignments. I am committed to full fashion sustainability, and have been for 3 years now, and I'm glad ReLove is part of my collection of sources to find what I'm looking for.

Mind's Eye Vintage is located within the Temescal Alley and I manage to stop in every time I find myself in this part of Oakland. I like the small space, how the merchandise is displayed, and the nice casual vibe. There was a dog sitting next to the door, naturally I went to pet him with my boyfriend and to check out the store which seemed interesting. I was told to step back a bit and not pet the dog all at once because he gets frightened easily. Fair enough. I walked a few steps back while my boyfriend pet him. I proceeded to say something along the lines of you must get a lot of people coming in and petting him. The rudeness of this lady was unreal. She then says "WHAT" in a loud stern voice and becomes extremely defensive while yelling at me about how I shouldn't tell her what to do with her dog and that she has the dogs best interest blah blah. Loud. Defensive. Rude as can be. I was shocked. I kid you not I couldn't even believe it. As she yelled at me in the store after I had been in there all of 30 seconds. I politely said I didn't mean to offend you and thank you as she stormed off huffing and puffing. People if she is so defensive about his dog and has its best interest. DONT BRING A SCARED AND ANXIETY RIDDEN DOG IN A STORE FULL OF PEOPLE IN AND OUT ALL DAY. Never have I been treated so rudely in all of the time I've lived here. If this lady is not the owner tell her to keep her dog out of the store and to treat customers with a little more respect because you potentially lost a sale. Worst customer service I've ever encountered and defensive and angry woman working the front. Kind of scary. I literally made this account because I need to say how shocking this experience was. Thanks!
