The vision of Karousel Boutique is to create an innovative shopping experience, and community arts center under one roof. The retail section will feature over 30 local women artists selling products ranging from; jewelry, designer clothing, pet products, sweets, teas, body lotions, textiles, home décor, paintings, leather goods, photography, men's accessories, potted plants, silk arrangements, and organic candles, just to name a few. Many of the businesses will belong to graduates of Women's Initiative Program, a non-profit organization providing small business training to financially challenged women in the Bay Area.
Every 3-4 months the artists will rotate and a new collection will arrive in the boutique. We will be keeping our Boutique guide on hand so you will never loose your favorite artist's information! Karousel will also be hosting Meet the Artist Reception every month in the evening. Beverages and appetizers will be served along with 10 artists on hand to greet you.

Meet the Business Owner: Susan G.
Karousel Boutique is the inspiration of Women's Initiative graduate Susan Grant. With help and encouragement from Women's Initiative, Grant reached out to leaders of the City of Alameda to start the boutique. City representatives understood the potential impact and value that Grant's gallery would have for the city's up-and-coming Webster Street shopping district, and helped her secure a space and negotiate a lease.
The Boutique features products and services from Women's initiative graduate and local women artists at the front of the store. A special place in the back of the store has been created for our community center, where members of the surrounding communities offer a variety of classes, ranging from jewelry making, yoga, music, sewing, literature, soap making, self- defense, traditional film animation, floral design, feng shui, social media networking, vlogging (video blogging), with much moreto come.
