And there were so many! Bath salts you could mix to bring home, an oil scent lab, and all sorts of adorable accessories that caught my eye: lacy socks, perfect for Docs; some earrings at a great price point; and some sunglasses that no one else will be wearing ANYWHERE, for a mere $20! The woman working the store was just so friendly, and told us to cash is Queen in here store, if you know what I mean? But, I've found my favorite place to invest my modest disposable income at when I'm in Alameda. I'll be back to crate an oil scent roller...for $15! That's absurd. And it was sweet the store has my father's name: To Herb With Love. My mom must've been sending me angel messages.

The clothes blend well with my Madewell, Anthro and Eileen Fisher outfits. I work in the design field so I have to look a bit polished with a modern edge; this caters to my style. Recently I've been looking for some clothing staples for work, and haven't really had any luck at other stores. Amidst a day of running errands all over the island, I popped into Kohl's to see what they have to offer. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. Respectable selection of season-appropriate women's clothing, at very reasonable prices. I particularly liked the Vera Wang and Nine West collections. Nice options for office wear, with classic styles, clean lines, attractive solid colors, and not many of the eyesore patterns that inexplicably seem to be so popular on women's clothing. I ended up purchasing a pair of slacks and two nice tops, all for less than $90 damage to my wallet. Kohl's also came through for me not long ago when I needed a pair of nylons, and was caught completely off guard to find Walgreens, where I've purchased nylons my entire adult life, no longer carries them, due to a drastic drop in demand. Um, what? Hose is no longer a thing? What are we wearing under skirts and dresses now, ladies? I must have missed this memo. Anyways, when I found out Walgreens no longer carries it, I headed to Kohl's, and found what I needed. This Kohl's also serves as a return center for Amazon purchases, which is incredibly useful and convenient. You can bring in your Amazon returns even without the original packaging, and they will take care of the rest. Very helpful! Overall, pretty pleased with this department store, and hope it stays in Alameda for many years to come.
