I was a CubeSmart customer for over a year and a half, spending nearly $4,000 on storage. My most…read morerecent payment was over $250 on June 13th. I moved out just a few days later, on June 17th, and requested a partial refund since the unit would be completely vacated for the remainder of the billing period. The response? Zero consideration. No flexibility, no gesture of goodwill, nothing. Luis, the on-site staff member, was consistently kind and helpful--this is no reflection on him (hence why I didn't give this one star) The problem lies with management, who clearly have no regard for customer loyalty or fair treatment. To make matters worse, CubeSmart regularly raises their monthly rates without meaningful justification. Their website claims they "take initiative to improve and enhance the customer's experience." That could not be further from the truth. Disappointed is an understatement. I would not recommend CubeSmart to anyone looking for a storage solution that values its customers.

I love how clean the facility and the price they offered, started at promising, and a decent rate plus the military discount they offered at $312.68, after 5 months, they increased my price to $347.87, then 12 months later, another increase to $381,99, another 12 months, $468.36, 7 months later, I got another bill telling me my new payment is going to be $596.21????? Like come on CubeSmart this is just insane on the price jump. I tried to call, but got hanged up on the line after 30 mins of on hold, went to the store trying to speak to the someone, no one was ever there, the sign at the door is always "will be back at this time" but when I return at the time on the time was posted on the door, it either got remove or the posted return time is extended, the main reason I come here was how friendly the sales on the phone and front desk was promising on this rate and I agreed on setting up monthly auto draft, and I was okay with the first two increase but this last one???? This price jump is absolutely mind blow to me, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company to anybody especially when these price jump was not mentioned in any part of the initial phase during consulting. I found out about it after the 1st price jump, since it wasnt that much so I figured "okay", I can deal with that, it is not that bad. But jumping to $600 almost double from it is initial price, this is just absolutely absurd.

I went home picked up the six boxes And drove to the storage unit, Mind you the storage unit, my house and Home Depot are about seven blocks from each other. I get to the storage unit. It's about 830 AM, The sign on the door says open come on in. I try to open the door but it's locked. about five minutes still nobody I called the call center at (929) 547-9621, " they do not have a physical person that works at this location and that the key is inside the storage unit" I thought OK well I guess that's possible. But when I went to the storage unit and I attempted to open it, it didn't open it was locked. So I called the 929 number listed above again Spoke to a different person, The second person I spoke to Stated " They're probably walking or helping somebody into their new unit, And asked if I could give 5-10 Minutes" I gave 11 Person still not there. So I called the 929 number a 3rd time This time I expressed my frustration again and the lady on the phone Stated " There is one person for multiple facilities nearby. There was an emergency at another facility." It sounded like she was gonna ask me to just wait and be patient, but I cut her off and stated " That's not my problem, I want my money back. I have to return the van by 10 AM it's 926 " She said that she will put a request in for the cancellation While driving back home to drop off everything that was supposed to go into the storage unit A gentleman from this location called me and gave me a different excuse, He stated "Hi John, you requested a cancellation" I said yes he then stated "why" and I expressed my frustration again. Then he stated "Well, you need to understand sir. There is more than 100 units and I have to check every single one of them so you need to understand that" giving me an attitude. I said "then there should be two people working in that office not one, and that is not my problem that you have to go check everything". He then stated " Well what do you want me to do?" "Fuck You" That's when I called the 929 number again unfortunately they don't have supervisors but they said that I should be receiving a call from upper management still waiting. They are always helpful and kind, professional and patient. They are clearly doing their best in what is a demanding environment. Unfortunately, I witnessed management speaking to them in a disrespectful and discouraging manner, including comments implying that employees were easily replaceable. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere and reflected poorly on leadership. A strong team deserves to be treated with the same level of professionalism and respect that they give to customers every day.
