Every time I come to Ola service is always great. Came here on a Saturday night with my man. Ola Latin kitchen serves a fusion of Latin American dishes. We ordered several flavorful drinks. For appetizers we ordered Brussels sprouts with chorizo, steak skewers with yuca, mixed ceviche with tortilla chips, and street corn. For entree I got the churrasco with chaufa rice and a side of sweet plantains; he got the guava glazed ribs with a corn mix and yuca fries. For desert we had guava cheesecake and churros. Everything came out from both from the kitchen and bar very promptly. Everything tasted great as always cooked to perfection. The ambiance is very vibrant and tropical. This is one of the very few restaurants I like to revisit as it is very well rounded. read more

My family and I stopped in because our air bnb happened to be around the corner, and boy, did we get lucky! The atmosphere outside and inside were so cute and well-decorated. Our server was very kind and kept checking in to make sure we enjoyed our food and drinks. Let me tell you, the food and drinks were out of this world! My parents enjoyed their $8 mojitos which is part of the Wednesday specials and I enjoyed a house made espresso martini with fresh made espresso! I always hunt for the best espresso martinis and this is one of the best I've ever had! All of our food was delicious including the huaraches, the beet salad, the quinoa tacos, and the short ribs. This restaurant was nice idea. I came here with my girlfriend and tried several different things. I had the ribs and yuca fries and she had the churrasco with rice and plantains chips with a side of rice. I also got the Mexican street corn and some beef pinches. The ribs were fall off the bone and delicious. I tried her steak and it was also very good. The yuca fries were crispy and hot and the Mexican corn is always a pleasure to have! Had a few mixed drinks, I enjoyed all of them. We finished the night with some desert. Cheese cake and churros with ice cream. Very satisfying. The restaurant looks nice and the service was on point and tentative. I would like to come back here soon. I recommend you try Ola latin kitchen. read more

Rene the owner is extremely flexible. We needed to do a lunch for a small gathering and Rene agreed to open the restaurant for a small fee. It was a lovely Indian summer day in early October and we sat in the Pergola space which was lovely. All the food starting with the appetizers and ending with dessert was flavorful and excellent. This place is happening. It's apparently the place to go to for celebrations. There were 3 birthday parties there. It is loud. Brightly decorated. The food comes out nicely presented. The drinks look good. It tasted fine... my hubby thought it was all great. The pulled pork quesadilla was made with bbq pulled pork, which is an interesting twist. It came with guacamole, which was delicious. The octopus was perfectly cooked, mildly seasoned. The lamb chops were also perfectly cooked and came with a nice sauce. Met friends here to celebrate a birthday based on some good yelp reviews. I can't say that I agree with the 4 star rating. LOCATION - restaurant is on a busy street but they have a small parking lot with a sign for Ola customers however you may need to find street parking. AMBIANCE- it has a very nice decor but for me it communicated a Cuban feel with the palm tree decorations. In terms of seating tables are somewhat limited around 40-50 but there is quite a long bar. I would suspect a good happy hour crowd. SERVICE- is definitely 4 star. Very attentive bus service. Very nice waiter but as crowds built he was pressed with service for a number of tables MENU - was more of a Nuevo latin selection. So a bit of a higher end dining experience. Could also be bigger as the specials were limited to one entree choice and one appetizer. APPETIZER- I had octopus which was very good. Friend had calamari which was very over cooked and rubbery. The kale salad was very good. The seafood savichee (bad spelling) was miss represented a bit. Actually more like a shrimp cocktail in sauce. ENTREES - short rib dish disappointing came out over cooked and Luke warm. The sea bass was good. The chicken dish was tasty with black beans. DESSERTS - I passed but the tres Lechee cake was a hit. The chocolate mole cake was also very good. PRICE - no way this is $$ in fact I'd say for Latin cuisine it is $$$$. The bill for 4 people and no drinks was over $200 not including tip. My gf Gee suggested it as she lives in Bridgeport and had actually eaten there several years ago when they first opened. Ola Latin Kitchen is in a nice neighborhood in Bridgeport with beautiful old Colonial homes and tree lined streets. The weather that night was icky and rainy but once we stepped inside we were whisked away into a Latin paradise. Our waitress Judy was sweet and accommodating. The entrees we ordered almost too pretty to eat and the atmosphere made for unique photo ops. Came here last night for the first time- did not disappoint! We started with the special Tuna Tartar which was soooooo good. I got the Salmon for an entree and my friend got the Bacalao cod fish and we ate every last bite. We also loved the roll and sundried tomato dipping sauce they give for a table snack when you first sit down. And the margaritas were delish- pomegranate and SPICY jalapeño. We grabbed two open seats at the bar after 9 pm and reviewed the menu. I went with the Mango Martini - excellent and he stuck to his standard Stoli and soda. Even though we weren't eating, the bartender brought out some delicious chips for us to snack on - yum. Ola is fresh, fun, with attentive service and a well prepared, creative cuisine. We were there to celebrate Quatro de Mayo, an important day set aside to revel in Friday and payday. Ola was into it - the bar was filled with very happy patrons loudly celebrating freedom from their overlords. Ola has an extensive cocktail menu featuring martinis, mojitos and margaritas. My classic mojito had a sugar cane stick with mucho chopped mint, and don't mind me if ramble because I had two. My patacones, plantain toasts filled with pulled pork and arugula, were well prepared. I ordered the baby octopus/potato tapas with trepidation because these Cephalopoda are intelligent sentient beings. Those served were not thumb sized newborns as advertised, but larger slices of a more teenagery-adult. The dish was well seasoned with pieces of roasted red pepper and served with a separate dipping sauce. Remind me to watch fewer nature documentaries. We were the only diners as it was 5 o'clock-ish. Listening to the bar talk reminded us of the importance of celebrating life with vigor. Just wish they had better acoustics for us diners. read more
