Wow worth the drive! We were craving good Asian food so decided to drive all the way to Columbia and worth the 2hr drive. The place is small but amazing customer service. I had the honey chicken which was pretty good. Honey had the Missouri style cashew chicken and he loved it. Kiddo had the noodles with beef those were my favorite! Will definitely take that drive again soon. read more

It is a small, quaint, place. The lady at the front register is absolutely PHENOMENAL. She is so gracious, courteous, and welcoming. We were welcomed and introduced to the menu and the variety of flavors and options. We took a few minutes to look everything over and then ordered our food. The lady delivered our food at the table as soon as it was ready, always ever so pleasant, mindful and gracious. The restaurant industry can be quite tedious, demanding and exhausting. She is the kind of host and server that restaurants NEED! She was absolutely amazing. Worth tipping over generously. I grew up on the west coast, in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was exposed to East Asian flavors at a very young age, as my mother is Filipino. I know my Asian flavors. Although not quite as what I would expect as a west coast girl, the food is as best as you can expect for the Midwest, but I truly enjoy the pan-Asian variety and the amazing quality of service. read more

I got the orange chicken meal, it was very tasty and filling. Took only about 8 minutes for them to serve me after I ordered. It seems like most of their business is takeout however they have a small indoor eating area as well. The chicken was slightly over battered for me but still delicious. It had a fruity flavor while the fried rice was slightly more bland. I would return here to try something new. I would probably not get the orange chicken again. read more

Very fresh and delicious food. Service was fantastic, and the waitress tried to explain everything and help in every way. The restaurant is small, but well tended. Everything is clean and tidy. All the plants are thriving! I will return again and again because my husband and I have found a winner! read more

Enjoyed carry out from here. Dishes outside of the usual Asian fare. Definitely will try again

This place is worth coming back to every time we drive through Columbia. We may even plan trips with a stop in mind! Our group ordered 6 different entrees, Everyone loved what they had. The "dragon size" special was listed as a smaller portion, but was still a generous serving. The egg drop soup was amazing, homemade quality (nothing like that gelatinous, tasteless stuff they serve on buffet lines). The woman taking our orders was delightful. And when some of our group had questions about gluten free items, she was knowledgeable and provided several options to meet their needs. read more

Doubling Soup is the best I have ever had. Light but extremely flavorful, fresh. The pork dumpling are fried and then popped into the soup. The owner is super friendly and remembered me from my first visit. Go to Okii Mama and you won't be sorry. read more

Always fantastic food and great service. We have never had a bad experience. We have dined in and carried out. Smaller restaurant, only has a few tables. I would highly recommend for the food and service. read more

The food was delicious, for reference we ordered red bean buns, pad Thai, and dumpling soup. The worker was incredibly friendly and we didn't have to wait long for our order. I will be coming back when I get the chance. read more

Horrible staff, one staff member physically touched my right shoulder, stating that the order would be ready soon.. Under no circumstances is a merchant or anyone allowed to physically touch another person, it is against the law, prohibited by the laws in the state of Missouri and throughout .. She was rude and the online order took 35 minutes to prepare because she was clearly upset that I contacted Driver care. An official complaint will be filed!! I do not recommend this business for online orders because the merchant priotizes walk-ins over online orders... calling corporate.. read more

Always delicious, never been disappointed. Staff is friendly, portions are good. A bit easier to get to with the redesigned street though parking could be better. read more

The floor and table tops were sticky and flies were constantly buzzing our table. The menu was confusing (at best) and the food was almost inedible. How does a restaurant stay in business in this day and age serving such lackluster product? The only reason I don't give this review 1 star was because the person behind the counter was very friendly and patient with us as we tried to understand and navigate the menu. If you're hungry for Asian (or Korean) food, I STRONGLY recommend you look elsewhere. read more

Just a small restaurant in a strip mall next to a Panera, but very good. They have a variety of Chinese, Korean, and southeast Asian food. This is our third or fourth time here, and we've liked every one we've tried -- bulgogi, coconut curry, Noodle dishes, even chicken wings. Bonus-- chinese buns in several flavors. Decor is not too fancy, but nice. The servers are super friendly. The price is about $10/entree with likely leftovers. read more

Food was delicious and made fresh to order. Great customer service and very friendly staff. This is my go to spot for some great Taiwanese food and the prices are very reasonable. You can eat in or take out, the atmosphere is very relaxing and a great place for lunch or dinner. read more

I have a new, favorite, Asian casual restaurant. My wife and I went to Okii Mama's last night. It's located in a small strip mall near Grindstone. Utterly non-descript area and if I hadn't been looking for them, I wouldn't have given it a glance. I ordered Cashew Chicken (Springfield Style). For those barbarians among you, Springfield Style means the chicken are small, breaded, crunchy fried pieces, smothered in a light brown gravy. It's usually served with a sprinkle of chopped green onions and of course, lots of cashews. It's a simple dish, but is seldom done well. Too often, the chicken is sodden, the gravy overwhelming, or the cashews stale. Okii Mama nailed every criteria. Absolutely perfect on all counts and beautifully presented. Paired with excellent fried rice and kimchi (more on that later), my dinner was five stars, all around. Claire ordered the Coconut Curry Chicken. It was correctly seasoned with just a hint of bite, sweet coconut milk, ginger, and basil. The chicken was thin, tender, and plentiful. Every aspect was 100% on target. She had plain, steamed rice and it was sticky, fresh, and hot, with no off taste. About the kimchi, I liked it very much and that's saying something as kimchi and I have been on the outs for years. I thought it was mild, the flavors blended nicely, and had a good texture. Claire said it was "OK, but too slimy". Different tastes, I suppose, but since this is my review, I give it a pass. The decor of Okii Mama is generic, fast food Chinese. A couple of TV's on the wall. Hard plastic chairs. Muted colors. Clean, but nothing to write home about. Food is served on square, black plastic plates. They use real flatware and plastic tumblers. Decent upgrade from foam containers and paper cups. Dinner for two, including two extra sides, came to $24. Excellent value, in my opinion. This is sure to become a frequent stop for us. read more

Honestly not sure why I've never heard of this place! The service is beyond fantastic - they were so genuine and enthusiastic. The atmosphere is peaceful and pleasant. Other reviews complained about cleanliness but it was clean even for dine-in focused standards. Not to mention the food - best hunan chicken I've had in a long time. Will absolutely be a regular here. So surprised! read more

Restaurant and employees very cautious and careful about Covid....everyone wearing masks, gloves, etc. They even spray the pen before you sign. A+ for safety. Food was outstanding, too. Nice portions and very tasty. Egg drop soup was some of the best I've had. Egg rolls are high quality and not the "cheap & greasy" kind that you sometimes get. Kimchee packed with flavor. For the mains, we ordered coconut curry chicken and shrimp with vegetable...both excellent dishes. We'll be back. read more

What to order: the beef shank noodle soup. It definitely has a very heavy heavy star anise Chinese five spice flavor but I enjoyed it and the beef shank was very tender. I think they can probably source better noodles but it wasn't bad I would totally get this again. What not to order: the bao. I fairly certain it's premade frozen bao they order and just reheat. The bao itself is not soft...it's dense and chewy. The pork filling lacked seasoning. I would skip this one. The jasmine tea comes in a nice large pot. It's mostly self service here. All they do is bring out your food when it's ready but you have to bus your own table and sort your dishes into the bin when you're done. read more

Good Taiwanese style beef shank noodle soup. The baozi is alright (the dough to filling ratio is unbalanced in favor of the dough unfortunately, but I can't complain much as in Columbia there aren't many options). I always enjoy the kung pao chicken. It has a nice balance of sweetness and spice. Very nice prices for combo meals! I never leave disappointed. I recommend eating-in. The quality of the food seems slightly better for some reason when you dine in. read more

My favorite place, we always order from them. We are having it tonight actually. They are so nice and have the best service

I had frequented this place before. Service is very friendly but tonight I order pecan chicken with fried rice and a side of broccoli. I don't think a total of 5 pecan halves make it a pecan chicken dish. The broccoli seemed more like a garnish than even half a serving. Of cause the rice was piled in which adds to the volume. It seems that many restaurants try to cut corners instead of increasing the price of the dish. Personally, I will not order at this place again. read more

The spicy honey chicken is yummy! We've come back a few times for the sauce. Great customer service as well, very friendly. This a place you order takeout from as the decor/seating isn't the best. Would recommend read more

Always excellent and quick Chinese/Asian fusion. My favs are spicy honey grilled chicken and 7 flavor beef.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that this place seriously has 4 stars... and the only reason I'm giving it anything more than 1 star, is because I received some decent customer service. I was in the mood for soup - and reading about their beef noodle I just had to come in and try it. When I think of Thai food I think of an incredible array of spices and what I got was the complete opposite. 3 bites and I couldn't bare it, top ramen has more flavor. I'm from California, so maybe the Thai there is done differently, but I'm not a fan. Safe your money and just go next door to Panera, God knows I should've. Hopefully this place will step it up, because I love me some Thai. read more

My sister and I just ate here for the first time on a whim and we are SO GLAD we did! I had the Taiwanese braised pork loin which is literally one of the best things I have ever eaten! It's SO tender and flavorful! And I don't usually like pork at all. The jasmine tea eggs are such a delicious treat. My sister got the beef curry and absolutely loved it as well. The only thing that I was disappointed about was that they were all out of the red bean steamed buns when we went, but that's obviously not a big deal. The service was also very lovely (we dined-in). The woman who took our order and works the cash register is very friendly and accommodating. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. My sister and I are already planning on going back to try everything else! read more

This has consistently been one of our favorite restaurants for take out for years. The staff are friendly and hard-working. They always aim to please. The food is fresh and delicious. Love love love this place. Some of the best food on Columbia. The beef bulgogi is my go to once a week at least. I get it with noodles, garlic broccoli and pickled cabbage. Don't forget the homemade extra thick teriyaki. You won't be sorry. Everything I ever get there is amazing and the owner always cooks your food and is a very sweet lady. #EAT-LOCAL read more

When my friend and I walked in, I was kind of skeptical because of the environment.... That's what I get for Think'en.. it was amazing food!! Huge portions at reasonable prices and absolutely delicious food. What more could you want? Okii Mama has Asian dishes from all over the world, and even some special dishes of it's own. The Pad Thai is delicious, along with the Bulgogi Kimchi Fried Rice. Whenever we go to Columbia, we always make it a point to stop by here and pick up some food. read more

Romance is in theair...along with the smell of kimchi. It happened to be Valentine's Day when I stumbled across Okii as I was looking for some takeout to grab with my SO. Romantic? I know. We stopped by to place our order to-go. It's fairly small but not tiny. I went with the sesame chicken meal that came with a side + fried rice. They took and made our order in like 10 minutes. The sesame chicken wasn't that great but it was cheap and fast. It kind had a bbq sauce type flavor to it. The fried rice was nice cause it wasn't super greasy but still flavorful. Okii is a great spot for fast, cheap, and plentiful Asian food. read more

Love their cashew chicken and egg rolls. This little place is one of Columbia's best!

I'm giving this such a high rating because I have moved away, and this is one of the top 3 CoMO restaurants I miss the most. I'm a life-time Weight Watcher member, and it is hard to find places you can go to have a healthy meal. Okii Mama's is a restaurant that actually gives you healthy choices that taste DELICIOUS! My absolute favorite is the Spicy Honey Grilled Chicken with the green beans side. The Little Dragon Bowl is a great size. I'm pretty sure there are a couple of other grilled options as well. It is a terrific restaurant. I always go anytime that I visit CoMO. I wish there was an Okii Mama's in Texas! read more

Ordered Pad Thai. Love Pad Thai. I don't recommend it here. The meat was over cooked, the flavors crashed into each other and didn't meld at all, the noodles were soggy, the tofu was like a fried, dry sponge. The egg roll was burnt and greasy on the outside and lacked flavor on the inside. For $9.99, I expected it to at least compete with area businesses in quality. When I expressed this to the cashier, they said ok and that I could throw it away. It has a bad aftertaste that still lingers as I right this, Still hungry and out $10. read more

Let's start off with my background. I have lived most of my life in the U.S., so I would consider my palate more American than Asian. However, I always eat authentic Taiwanese food at home. My opinion of Okii Mama is that it's a WONDERFUL place if you like American style Asian food (like Panda Express, etc.). They have a couple of authentic dishes (beef noodle soup, etc.), but I have not tried them. My go to when I visit, is the little dragon bowl (which is their name for the smaller portion, but it fills you up like a Chipotle burrito) with orange chicken (my entree), white rice, and seasoned green beans (my side). It is delicious!! The price is not too bad-- about $7-8. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to have fabulous, delicious American-Asian food. read more

Good place to get a quick lunch. Good tasted good, and the order was Swift and we were served fast.

Bang for your buck place. It's not gourmet so don't hold it to that standard, but they serve large quantities of pretty yummy and filling food. The menu selection is pan-Asian (think kimchi fried rice, pad thai) but thankfully it falls short of just being another sterilized, standard fusion food place. I might recommend it as a takeout place/quick eat stop since the venue is small and there are these two giant tv screens that prevent it from being a relaxing environment. read more

I love this place! They have the best generals tao's chicken I've ever had. They use huge pieces of chicken thighs that I've never experienced anywhere else. Love this place. Would give 6 stars if I could. read more

This is a nice family owned restaurant that has extremely delicious food! I'd recommend trying everything. One of my favorites is the Cashew Chicken. Chicken Pad Thai is very good, just ask for peanuts on the side if you don't like too much. Seven flavor beef and Coconut curry shrimp are another regular choice of mine. For sides, the dumplings are yummy, but so are their broccoli and green beans! Not feeling rice today? Try their Beef Shank Noodles, spicy! Delicious first time around and the next day, if you have leftovers! Eating in or taking it to go, either way the food is still good! Definitely a favorite place to grab something to keep you full for hours! read more
