Came in on a weeknight for dinner and were seated right away. Typical Chinese restaurant, service was okay. We had heard good things about this place so were excited to try. The food was good, but a bit greasy. - Crab rangoon (4/5): always a go to. Pretty good, the sauce was a bit too sweet for our liking though. - Chicken and mushroom (3.5/5): This dish was tasty, pretty standard Chinese food. Fried rice was good, nothing special. I thought it was bit salty - Beef stir fry (3.5/5): also pretty basic, lots of veggies. We were looking for some authentic Chinese food, but were a bit disappointed. We are willing to try it again though, maybe we just ordered the wrong things.

This definitely one of the better Chinese restaurants in Columbia, their food always comes out piping hot and tastes delicious. They have a wide variety of menu options and have a second menu with some hotpot style foods. The restaurant is very spacious and has a decent amount of seating, the wait staff are overall very attentive but can definitely get overwhelmed when busy.

Hidden Gem. I have ordered take out from here many times. This is the first time I decided to dine and and it won't be the last! It's a fun experience and delicious food! We may have ordered too much we were stuffed! It's a fun date night or family dinner night(just keep the little ones away from the boiling broth. SAFETY FIRST!). Server was very helpful. I didn't know how long to leave everything in the broth too cook for, she gave me some pointers.

I've had my fair share of Americanized Chinese food across the Midwest, and I can't say that I've ever been particularly impressed...until coming to Taste Place. I stopped by with a friend for an early Saturday dinner, and we were seated immediately, with our steaming plates of wonderful food arriving shortly after. My friend got their sesame chicken dinner combo, which she said was perfectly seasoned and had just the right levels of crispiness and crunch. She subbed out the eggroll that comes with the combo for their hot and sour soup, which she greatly enjoyed along with the fried rice. I went for one of their "special diet" menu items (which I appreciated that they had), and it was pretty standard -- steamed tofu with a heaping helping of vegetables, as well as what seemed like a giant bowl of oyster sauce on the side. The true star of the night, though, was their sesame balls. I'm usually really picky with sesame balls, but they did a phenomenal job at this place. Fried to perfection, but not overly greasy, with the perfect level of crispiness and minimal sweetness. Also, at $6.99 for 10, the price is really unbeatable. I definitely wasn't expecting to get dim sum-quality sesame balls at the Columbia Mall, but Taste Place really did not disappoint.

Sesame Chicken is tasty and well-seasoned. The portion is satisfying, though the sauce could be slightly lighter

The chicken is so tough. I can barely chew it. The pieces are also so big you need a steak knife to cut them with. I'm not impressed.

The quality of the seafood was a very clean tasting seafood. Even the shrimp had a nice clean flavor. And we're you looking for butter? Oh, they do (not) spare the sticks of butter at this place! The potato. Oh yes, I said "potato". I have never had a seafood bowl - have (just) a single potato. The potato tasted absolutely great. But 1 potato? That was a joke - especially after you see what these items cost! The garlic butter: There was plenty of butter. Tye flavoring of the butter, certainly was unique of sorts. Seemed to have (possibly) a chili powder base. And though I thought it was good...I also got tired of the taste, after a bit. The Big Downer at this place: Cost. You see my (2) platters. Add (3) cans of Coke - the cost was $150.00. Yes, that's correct: $150.00. Sure, there's a whole lobster on one of the platters. BUT, it wasn't that big by any means. And let's remember: 1 potato was included in the platter. 1 small red potato, came with it; at that price! Lol. Conclusion: Krustaceans is where you should go - for the seafood boiler platters. A much better combination of quality, value and price.

I asked for the manager's name and got the gen Z stare along with 'Kevin' but apparently Kevin's last name is a state secret. The food (cajun combo boil) wasn't as good as it used to be either. Nearly half the mussels were unopened, the sausage was a lot smaller than it used to be, and the single potato was tiny. This used to be a good place, which makes its decline kind of sad. No wonder there was only one other customer in the place.

It's a little hidden away, but honestly, if you have your windows down, just follow the smell of smoked BBQ and you'll find it. As soon as I walked in, the smoky aroma hit me in the best way possible. It immediately made me want something off the smoker, even though I was only planning on a lighter lunch. I sat at the bar and was greeted by Grace, who was friendly, attentive, and quick to bring over a menu and get my drink started. Since it was my first visit and I wasn't overly hungry, I asked Grace what she recommended. She suggested the smoked wings, so I went with those. They came out pretty quickly, and before long I had a dozen golden-brown smoked wings in front of me. They were excellent. The wings had great smoky flavor, were cooked perfectly, and weren't dried out like smoked wings sometimes can be. The portion was generous, too. I only made it through six and saved the rest for dinner, which was a nice bonus. Overall, D. Rowe's made a great first impression. Good food, friendly service, and that amazing BBQ smell from the moment you walk in. I'll definitely be back.

The Menu is packed full of salivating descriptions. We will be back to try other items, despite my disappointment in the burger. My daughter loves the pulled pork sandwich on the gluten-free bun, and my wife enjoyed her chicken bacon club sandwich. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings. I find if a restaurant can get a bacon cheeseburger and onion rings right they're worth a second go. I read in the description of this restaurant that they have generous portions, I order onion rings at five onion rings, that's not generous in my book. The onion rings were greasy and clearly fried in the same oil that fish is fried in. My wife and I had completely opposite experiences with the bun, she said hers was light and fresh. Mine was cold and stale. The burger tasted as if it was a hard pressed frozen patty that have been microwaved. I'm sure it wasn't microwaved. It just had that dense bland flavor in texture. The environment was definitely family friendly, and our server "Emma" was very sweet. She was not overbearing, nor was she absent. Like I said, we will be back, but I won't order the burger and onion rings ever again.
