This is the greatest establishment that has ever graced my soul. I was introduced to China Moon through a TA in one of my labs. A friend and I decided to visit the restaurant one evening. It was extravagant. Almost every week I return to this place with friends. I can honestly say, for the price, this is the most good quality food you can get in Columbia. This is a superb restaurant. This is my typical go to Chinese take out place. Always good meal for fair price. My typical order is beef and broccoli w/ rice (normally steamed but occasionally fried.) staff is always friendly and polite. Building is in a small strip mall, so it is a smaller sitting place. I usually call in my order and have never had to wait for order to be ready. They are great about prep to ready time. Second time around I ordered the same thing, chicken & broccoli, & it was still good. 7 hours later I was violently ill for the next two days with symptoms of severe food poisoning. Was traveling from CA to Indiana and decided to order Chinese for delivery to our hotel. The food was just okay. Not bad but not great. If ordering from a hotel make sure to put in remarks as my order came with zero plates, utensils or napkins. That was fun trying to eat. read more

We had our food delivered. It was excellent. The only downfall was we ordered the the SHRIMP in garlic sauce. Looks like we got shrimp & vegetables. I had only 4 shrimp. The rest was broccoli & carrots & mushrooms. I didn't order shrimp and vegetables. I should have gotten more shrimp with the shrimp in garlic sauce. Disappointed. I ordered the "Sweet and Sour Combo". The price was good and they definitely didn't short me on food. It was prepared quickly and the service was excellent. The reason I didn't give them five stars was because although the container was overflowing with the meat was there was absolutely no vegetables (peppers, onions and pineapple) that I expect in my sweet and sour dish. read more

It seems like most of the problems with this place in previous reviews is their delivery. I can't speak on that as I ordered online and pick up in store as I live only about a mile away. That being said their website is easy to navigate and the food was hot and delicious when I picked it up. I got the dinner combo orange chicken and it was HUGE. To my surprise it also came with fried rice instead of white and the chicken was all white meat. Both of which are positives for me. I also got a pint order of lo mein and it was also pretty good! The prices are also on point. Everything was cheap and had at least 2 servings (at least for my appetite). I always keep in mind that these kinds of chinese places are basically fast food places. You're not gonna get anything stellar but when you're craving that greasy chinese food taste, it's pretty good. I'll definately be back! read more

Pretty standard American Chinese food. Super fast for pickup, extremely large portions, and hits the spot if you're craving Chinese food. It's decent for Columbia, but nothing to write home about if you've ever lived somewhere with better options for Chinese. read more

I ordered spring rolls and spicy tofu through doordash. It was delivered hot and crispy... beautiful rolls... and the tofu (bean curd) was delicious and extra spicy just like I requested! So rare that restaurants actually make things extra spicy when requested! I don't usually rate restaurants I've not been inside ... but this was so great... I have to! Yum! The wonton soup broth tasted greasy, and the wontons both had no flavor. I gave this restaurant a second chance. It failed both times! I don't know whom is giving this place good reviews. The man cooking the food was not wearing gloves and picked his nose and rubbed his face multiple times while making the food!!! These were full blown nose digs. Horrible. Ordered online. Received a call that they could not accommodate a item on order and was told the food was on its way. Food did not come for almost 2hrs. Called 3 times. Spoke to manager/owner said that food was on its way. Called again after 30 additional minutes. Delivery driver shows up. Food was cold-ish and had a HAIR in it. Actually I was torn between 3 and 4 stars because the food was OK but the portions sizes were so generous, I decided to go with 4 stars. This place is recently opened in a brand new building so it is not like your typical local "hole-in-he-wall" Chinese food place. It looks just like them, but everything was new and very clean. It was about 20 degrees when we went there and we planned to dine in, but the table area was small and the entrance door closed slowly so, rather than eating in the cold, we opted for carry out. I had an egg-roll, egg drop soup, and Szechaun chicken for lunch today. This was a LOT of food and I could only eat about 1/2 and it was under $7. The egg roll was freshly cooked. The veggies were crisp. The flavor was OK but a little soy sauce helped. The egg drop soup appearance and consistency was spot (it was missing green onion though) on but it was seriously bland. I am hoping this is because the place is new and they are working out the kinks. I will try this again as the prices are so reasonable that if I don't like it, it is not a financial hit on my wallet. The szechaun chicken was OK, a little heavy on the oyster sauce for my liking, but there was a ton of it in my carry-out container. They also used a lot of chicken which surprised me in a positive way. The szechaun chicken came with a lot of fried rice, which was also about average, but was greatly improved when I blended in some of the szechaun chicken to mop up the excess oyster sauce. Read reviews, was hoping to get Cashew Chicken like what is served in Springfield, Mo. The food came out hot in temperature, but no other taste. The fried rice was not appealing either. Friend had Beef dish, theirs too was undesirable. We will not return. Too many children in kitchen where food being prepared, hand washing was not done and make putting together food was touching child , then food, no gloves. So, I ordered here again last night, because I was craving their chicken dumplings again. And they were good. However, I ordered the plain lo mein instead of the chicken. It tasted like fried rice, and was burnt to the point where I threw the rest of it away. Every bite had a burnt taste and it was just unpleasant. The spring rolls have an odd, sweet, almost cinnamon flavor. And, I ordered delivery, it took forever. They said 45 minutes, it was an hour and a half before it showed up. Will I order again? Meh. Nothing fancy, but the food is consistently good, and equally important: they get the order right every time: nothing forgotten, nothing substituted incorrectly. I would say NO stars if this site would allow it. I did NOT get all the food I paid for and ordered. A friend and I were also sick for THREE days afterward. I had the worst stomach cramps, vomiting, & diarrhea I've had in my whole life. NO LIE!!!!
