I wish I could give this place six stars. The food and service were excellent. It is a very old-fashioned Chinese restaurant where you get real plates and silverware. It's not expensive but it feels like an expensive restaurant. The food was great. Wanted to have a sit down lunch while visiting Columbia and decided to try this place. I found that I had difficulty trying to finish everything, as the lunch special comes with soup, fried rice, an entree, and an egg role. I actually needed a take home container. All the items were reasonably priced. The service was quick. The waitress had no problem with making substitutions (white rice over fried and crab Rangoon instead of the egg roll.) I will definitely be back to this place when visiting Columbia. read more

Ok we were out and about today went to Peking Restaurant and let me tell you this place was terrible I ordered chicken chop suey and the chicken was old and dry and the chop suey just had onions and old lettuce in it . My husband had fried cashew chicken in was worse then mine again chicken old and stringing and they put gravy on it ????what the hell do yourself a big favor don't eat here sorry but true . read more

If this was only about the food, it would have been 3.5 stars. Food was fine - I got the house egg rolls, hot and sour soup, and Singapore rice noodle. My local Chinese food does these better but it was fine. My issue was with the service. I came in a party of five. Relevant - two of us are cisgendered women, one is cisgendered male, and then two are feminine presenting trans folks. Full makeup, hair cute, skirt and dress. The server, when she FINALLY came, made a very clear choice. She sat my food in front of me, saying nothing - sat the other cis woman's food in front of her, saying nothing - sat the food in front of the trans woman on my left, saying "Sir!" - sat the food in front of the cisgendered man, saying nothing - sat the food in front of the femme trans on my right, saying "Sir!". My friend said "not sir, and thank you so much!" The server then ignored our table for the entirety of dinner. When she finally came with the check an hour after food came out, she again made it a point to call our trans friends "sir" while not addressing the rest of us with gendered formalities. We paid, signed the checks, and left - just to hear a sharp "SIR!" as we were crossing into the parking lot. The server had two of the checks in her hand and was waving down my friend to say "sir, you didn't pay!". She had paid, and went back in with her to point out that the ticket was signed and laying right in the open, same as the other two tickets had been. I could understand accidental misgendering if she had also been addressing the only man at our table as "sir" or if she had used a gendered formality at any other point in time but not once did she use gender for any of the cisgendered folk at the table, nor did she address anybody at the nearby tables with gendered language. And as our table was being neglected, I definitely had time to notice that she was not gendering anybody else within earshot. Keep your ignorance at home - it's not for business. Hostess was surely. Smacking out menus down. Sweet waitress, slow though and forgot our hot tea until we asked again. Why don't servers clear your plates anymore when they touch the table. Never leave empty handed. Put table was full of dirty dishes upon paying our tab. I don't like to see a total without an itemized billing of what I'm paying for. Who knows if we were charged correctly. I would order out but don't care to eat in this establishment again. This is my favorite columbia Chinese food location. It is slightly pricier than other spots in the areas but the food is so good. I get the orange chicken with fried rice or beef lo mein and it never disappoints. It usually feeds me for about two meals no matter what I order here. Generally takes them about 10 minutes to serve as well. The lunch special is the best deal and seems to be mostly takeout while the dinner seems to have more people dining in. read more

The food is always really good, but the wait for food is crazy. You call in your order with a nice lady, but when you arrive at the time she asks, it's another 20-30 min in the store. They yell out orders but it's chaos. Everyone seems to get the crab rangoons, fried rice, and lo mein. I've been going to this restaurant infrequently for many years. I think it has the best pork twice cooked in Columbia. Food portions are very generous and there's always plenty to take home. Family owned and the owner is always there working (she's a hoot). Last visit was on a busy Friday night. The very limited staff was doing a great job managing an abundance of customers- both for pickup orders and dine-in. Seating tip- I recommend sitting on the right side of the room as you walk in if it's a busy time. Stopped by Peking on a whim at the recommendation of a coworker and glad I did. I called in my order and it was ready in less than 10mins. I ordered the Veggie Fried Rice and Veggie Egg Rolls. You get 2 egg rolls with the order and they don't skimp on the filling. The rice was moist and super flavorful; Tons of veggies consisting of broccoli, baby corn, onion, mushroom, snap peas, carrots, and bean sprouts - I opted for no egg.
