I ordered through grubhub because of the quarantine. I ordered some simple salmon rolls and nigiri. When my food arrived, the rice was completely unseasoned and inedible. It tasted just like plain rice. How do you just forget to season sushi rice? The fish was incredibly bland as well. The salmon rolls were even worse. Rice was still unseasoned, except for the eye-wateringly obscene amount of sesame seeds in the middle of the roll! There was more sesame than rice in the roll! It turned the texture of the sushi into gritty, sesame mush. I'm writing this review over an hour later and my mouth is still overwhelmed with sesame. I can't claim to be the biggest victim here, because the fish itself was soft and of fine quality, but it was either completely underserved by a total lack of flavor, or dominated by the hell of sesame seeds. Even at $2.50 a plate, I still feel I paid too much for such a disappointment. The nigiri has gone to my cats, the only winners of today, and everything else in the trash, inedible. I used to love getting sushi here for the fair prices. However the staff is my reason for not wanting to come back. Very discriminating against people of color. Recently came in with a friend and the staff took a very long time to seat us, which ended up being in the very back when the restaurant was empty. We asked why we couldn't be sat near front and were told because they wanted to save the seats for 3 or more. 10 minutes later there was a woman and child sat there who weren't of color. I then asked staff why they told us three or more after 2 people were sat there. They blatantly lied explaining the woman was waiting for a third person. The wasabi wasn't very hot and the house saki was not my favorite. (Upgrade!) It will be worth it. The ginger was amazing though. So, I'm a picky eater when it comes to sushi. I can't handle the taste of Aquarium raised fish, and can tell the freshness from taste. This is the only sushi bar I've found so far in town that has quality for the cost you pay. The service is great, I've never had a problem with the team. They leave us alone, unless they see an empty drink or see us looking for them. Which is nice, I don't like service where they're breathing down your neck while you're eating. Or lingering in the shadows, staring at you with THAT stare. The restaurant is small, tidy, and very inviting. There's usually always laughs and smiles of customers as well as workers whenever we go. I highly recommend if you want to try conveyor belt sushi. They also have a menu explaining all the different types of sushi, what's in them, as well as the prices of each plate. My wife and I figured we try this newer sushi restaurant, since we live nearby. When we entered the restaurant, there were very few seats at the bar. We decided to sit at a table that was near the end. No one was sitting at any tables. When we sat down at the table, we were told we could not sit there, because we were not a party of three or more. They told us to sit at the bar. The only spot that was available with two seats together was between two children, and it was limited space. The staff was rude when we asked to use a table and said that was not a possibility. Having no privacy, we decided to still try. We looked at their prices and decided that 6+ dollars for a plate of sushi was too much, especially when we could not even sit at a table. We decided to eat somewhere else. You don't have to wait for a seat (as long as there are enough open for your party) and with the constantly moving train of plate options being filled, you could always be eating. The menu is helpful in picking out what is what but I felt like I had to have it the whole time to decide what to grab. Labeling the plates would be nicer. We ordered the yakisoba with chicken as well so that took a little bit to get out to us, and I wouldn't order it again. It was fairly bland and seemed like ramen noodles not yakisoba noodles. If we hadn't ordered that, between us we had 9 plates in a fairly short time and would have only come to about $30 with a soda. Some of the rolls can be a bit small. They have about six booths and the rest is bar seating, all spots have access to the belt of rotating sushi. All seating also has access to the color coated menu, wasabi, soy sauce and ginger. You can order sushi or choose from the belt. Lots of drink options to choose from including tea, water, juice, soda, sake and beer. Sometimes the belt is more full then others but always fresh. I liked this place a lot more than I expected. The prices are great and the nigiri is really yummy and flavorful! Unfortunately, when I was there there wasn't much of a variety on the belt.. but! The servers came around quite frequently to see if we'd like anything that's not on the belt, so that was nice. Would take a while but I totally don't mind if it's freshly made. Also, if you see anything fried on the belt, don't expect it to be hot. Perfect place to go if you have a craving for sushi and don't want to wait. I made an online order from Oishii Sushi (Springfield, OR) on 22 MAR 21. They were following COVID precautions to standard. My mother used to visit this location fairly often (every Sunday). So, I figured that, in her memory, it was my due diligence to give them a try. I had the veggie croquette, tempura, sashimi plate, and miso soup. It's taken me far too long to pop into this shiny new sushi joint . The service was excellent, friendly, attentive, skilled. The place was extremely clean. You get to watch them roll sushi from any seat in the house. They have TV's on each wall and of course the main attraction is the magnetic rotating sushi belt. You can order from the menu if you don't see the kind of sushi you want or the item takes cooking. I ordered miso, spring roll, vege roll and asparagus roll. All were excellent. However, as much as we love their food, they have bad customer service.
