Wooohoooo ladies and gents! The first sushi belt in springfield! I've literally been eyeing this spot since the coming soon sign was first was put up. This is right next to chicken bonz where the old payless used to be. Walking in was kind of a wow moment. It really was well done. It looks beautiful! Everything is so clean and the windows are great! The belt is probably one of the nicest I have seen, its flowless with magnets underneath? You will just have to see for yourself! Service was rocking! Well staffed, very nice! No down moments. Each could use their own section though, literally got asked how we were doing 3 times within 90 seconds by 3 different people. Lol, I am sure that will work itself out. Sushi was pretty good for a belt. Seemed like the same rolls were going around and maybe they could switch it up some more, however I was fairly happy. So why 3 stars amd not a 4 or 5? The prices. Plates run from 1.65 to over 4 dollars with the normal plates running from 2.65 to 3.65 Sadly I would run across town to 541 sushi (all $2) or sushi island (under $2 for happy hour) for cheaper price points. If this place could work in a similar deal or happy hour pricing this would be my go-to! Pro tip - - sampled various raw plates, did not run screaming into the bathroom when I got home. read more

Dropped by on our way home from Roseburg. Tax free..whohoo! I'd eat here again. The place is clean, food decent and prices are all right. Service is great and the magnetic conveyor belt is pretty cool compared to other conveyor belt joints. Oishii Sushi is a good place to find some tummy filling food. The variety is fairly selective but I think you can manage to find something you like. I'd eat here again if I had to. read more

Great place for some fast sushi! Came here for lunch and wasn't disappointed. This might be my new go to spot for sushi when I'm in a rush. The rolls were flavorful, BUT some of the fish didn't seem all that fresh. It might of been because it was sitting on the conveyor belt for some time. Had around 10 plates of sushi between a friend & I, and two bowls of udon. The udon wasn't my favorite. If you come definitely look at the menu, and order some rolls off of it! Most of the blue plates that are pictured on the menu don't come on the conveyor belt, so don't be afraid to ask the chef to make it! I had a Vegas roll and a spider roll. Both of them were delicious, and I will definitely come back to try some of the other rolls on the menu. read more

I ordered to go on a Saturday night. I was quoted 25 minutes which I didn't mind. Showed up at the time quoted and had to wait an additional 10 minutes. I ordered some tempura but they forgot to make it and I didn't want to wait any longer. Anyways.... the sushi tasted fresh & I was hungry. I couldn't complain. Just wish the woman in the front didn't seem like she hated her job. I'll be back. Maybe next time I will dine in. read more

Very nice buffet. I usually stay clear of this concept due to freshness but it appears they try to manage amount of food available. Sushi very good. Edamame. Excellent Very comfortable service for just opening. Definitely give it a try!! Also LOVE you can eat to your own appetite. Drives me crazy to waste food. Also. Green tea very good. read more

Came to Oishii Sushi for the first time and loved it! Their service is great. Friendly staff and delicious food. We ordered a salmon hand roll and salmon sashimi which were both very yummy and also chose some options from the belt. Everything we had tasted fresh and full of flavor! We always had positive experiences with the consistency of their food and fantastic flavors, but when we dined in we were amazed by the quality of customer service as well. We tried this for the first time this evening and it was very disappointing. The good first: Decor and concept is great. I enjoy a sushi belt that has booth seating attached and the atmosphere is very pleasant. The bad: Service was terrible. The two server girls assisted customers like chickens with their heads cut off. Mind you it was a Wednesday at 7pm and was not busy. Five groups/tables total and for a real server that's nothing especially at an establishment like this where you're solely bringing drinks/writing checks. The servers took a very long time to ask what we wanted to drink let alone bring the drinks. Luckily we know how a sushi belt works and could distinguish price per plate color because the servers didn't explain anything which would be problem some for a persons first time their. We also waited quite a bit after eating for a server to bring us a check and when she asked how our food was we told her honestly it was bad/salty. To which she said she was sorry we felt that way, mkay... So besides the service the food was not good. We had a couple plates between us and couldn't try anymore. The fish was soooo salty, like I'm surprised their wasn't chunks of salt sitting on the fish to cause that taste it was that bad. Second the rolls are incredibly small and with their price point NOT worth it. I would suggest sushi island instead. We won't be coming back due to the food taste, price point and service, just all around bad. read more

My wife and I love going here for date nights. Usually quick to get seated and the food is already prepared. If you don't see anything you want than you can ask your waiter to have something prepared for you. We brought our kids once and they weren't into sushi so it was a different experience. My suggestion would be to find a sitter if you're not sure if your kids like sushi. The restaurant is clean and they have TVs up usually playing sports if some kind. My wife and I love The California Tempura. Try it out if you're looking to try sushi and not break the bank. Good prices and selections! read more

We came here yesterday for my victory meal I suppose after having my baby. This was our first time here so we were a bit lost as to how to order here. The staff members were extremely friendly and helpful.l, and the place was super clean. My husband isnt a fan of sushi whatsoever, but decided to try the dragon anyways. I ordered the salmon and shrimp tempura sushi. My goodness, was it fantastic!!! My husband wouldn't stop raving about the salmon sushi and wants to go back and try other options, and our favorite part was that it wasn't expensive at all. We got 4 of each kind we ordered and were full till dinner time. Needless to say...we are definitely coming here again. read more

This is my new favorite local restaurant! You seat yourself and right away you can eat delicious sushi fresh off the conveyor belt. They greet you at your chosen seat asking you what you'd like to drink and later if you'd like to order off the menu. We had several servers ask if we needed anything or how our meal was. We averaged about $15 each and were satisfied. They offered a variety of sushi on the conveyor belt and kept it full the entire time but we were there during dinner hours. I recommend if you want to order something like chicken yakisoba to do it as soon as you can because you may fill up on sushi by the time they get it to you. It didn't take that long for them to make it but it is hard to save room as amazing sushi dishes are floating by you. The checkout was easy. A server adds up your dishes and gives you a bill , then you take it up to the counter in the corner of the restaurant (to the left of the doors as you leave. Added bonus, this restaurant was super clean and spacious, with friendly servers . Quality sushi that I swooned over. I will take my family back for our next celebration. I would go more often but not in our budget. read more

I guess that I kind of owe a review to Oishii Sushi. They've gotten established and are now in a groove. I have to confess that Kaiten-zushi (Sushi on a conveyor belt) is a guilty pleasure of mine. Yes, it is a completely different animal than sitting in front of a chef. You can be gaijin (outlander) without getting the ire of a well trained chef. You don't get the personal service, you don't get the opportunity to place yourself at the whim of a master and you don't get to see what is the most fresh or the most exotic. But, nobody will criticize you for using too much wasabi or soy. And, at times this is all right with me. You also pay a LOT less per plate. Two things that I learned going there during the winter months, DON'T take a seat near the door... the frigid air blows in and you freeze your exposed parts. More importantly, if you go when the lunch or dinner rush hits... there will be a LOT of turnover on the belt and you won't see that forlorn piece of salmon go by 2,671 times. On to the food. Each dish has a color, and each color has a price. They also have a great menu with things both on and off the belt. Usually I'm good with 4-6 dishes. This last trip I brought Beloved Bride with me. She loves the concept of sushi, but hates nori (seaweed) and doesn't eat fish (per se) but loves shellfish. If you see us there, you can despair of getting the shrimp on rice... she grabs what she can. This trip we took a detour from the belt and ordered fried squid... which was hot, tasty and beautifully seasoned. We also treated ourselves to a platter of vegetable tempura. I've missed tempura since I left San Francisco... we had a little hole in the wall dive (no longer there) on Chestnut St. that did tempura as well as any I've eaten ANYWHERE. The tempura was not quite there, but very, very respectable. Every dish that I took off the belt was fresh, well composed and didn't show any of the sticky-gummy characteristics that "old" sushi has. I'm sure that we will be returning before too long. I can't let the service go without a quick compliment. They were effective, they were unobtrusive and unfailingly polite. I'd say that for a place less than a year old, they've arrived. read more

Walked in for my first pickup order and was not greeted by anyone though the restaurant was not crowded at all. Sat down by the door assuming (since there is a lack of signage) that I should wait to be served. After a few minutes of nothing at all, a line formed at a counter to the right of the door, so I got in line. As I got near the front, a young man came from the back of the line and cut in front of everyone in it and asked for his order. The man and the lady who were behind the counter both stopped what they were doing (including helping the lady who was currently at the front of the line) to get this young man what he wanted. So, after they helped him and then the lady at the front of the line - I was next. But no. The lady behind the counter started to organize her desk, and the man behind the counter simply walked off to another part of the restaurant without a single word to me or the line behind me from either of them. The sushi here Is pretty good everytime it's around $30-$55 for 2 adults one kid usually. Depending on which plates you grab from the conveyor. You can also order fresh sushi from the menu If they dont have it. They have Beer and sake too. Gets pretty busy around dinner time usually 10 min wait for a booth. read more
