Sal's Heating & Cooling, Plumbing & Sewer

Sal's Heating & Cooling, Plumbing & Sewer

(179 reviews)

Sal was extremely professional in sending out their repair person. However, the person who came…read morewas very unfriendly. When I asked him to wear a mask, he refused. When I asked him to check if there was a leak of gas from my furnace, he said everything is in good working condition and there are multiple safety measures to prevent any leak. But when I asked how to be sure there is no leak, he said that is a second step to measure with a meter and it will cost another $89. In any event, I didn't find him to be friendly and helpful to rule out my initial complaint. I did not opt for the second step. No second step for diagnosis was informed by Sal earlier. That said, I guess I must give the business a 5-star rating based on the professional scheduling and followup of the appointment. "One swallow doesn't make a summer' or "one bad day" is not a true reflection of the company. I am changing my rating at Sal's text request personally. It's only changed because I can understand Sal's concern as a businessman. He offered me free service in return but I declined it again. He got me wrong completely. My changed rating is only for the professionalism shown by the reception desk and their follow-up. It is not for the changed picture Ron gave that I asked if Ron wanted me to wear a mask. Who would ask that in one's own house? I was wearing my mask thoughout the encounter. As a 65+ year-old, I must be cautious. I don't need a service person's permission to wear a mask inside my house. Unbelievable. But I thought I must clarify to Sal's reply. Thanks Sal for your prompt response. But, isn't that a courteous way to ask ? - "You might want to wear a mask". He saw I was wearing one and he was entering my residence. Yes, I could have insisted but I think that is rude. Secondly, my complaint was "gas leak" and hence, the request to send someone from your company. I am not disputing any diagnosis. I just placed it before you, so it doesn't happen again.. I don't want any money back either. Service was rendered and I accept your company's policy. However, I thank the reception desk for immediately scheduling the appointment the same day. It was highly professional, including the update they followed up with. I commend you for that. Anyways, thanks for your immediate response. Much appreciated

It is my belief when you hire anyone into your home you are walking blindly that they are honest…read moreand have a true knowledge that work performed will fix the problem. Sals heating has been working on our boiler system since 10/20/25. From 10/20/2025 till 1/2026 Sals has charged us 6,102.00 On 2/10/2026 we were presented with two more estimates: 1) 3,627.00 for further repairs . 2) 18,180.00 total replacement of Boiler It is my fear that they feel an additional 3,627.00 will not fix the boiler in entirety so they included an estimate of full replacement of system. 2) Replacement of boiler system in its entirety: 18,180.00 We have moved on and will not be using Sals service for any additional repairs/work This matter will appear on your website reviews and am submitting to the BBB

Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Rob came on a Saturday within an hour of us calling after noticing a significant water heater leak…read more He works tirelessly for almost 7 hours, finishing the job at 11 PM, removing the old heater and installing a new heater. Excellent attitude, extremely hard worker. Highly recommend it. Addition, Rob also identified another major issue with our water that we bundled into the repair. The company prices are commensurate with the quality you will receive. The cheapest path is not always the best one.

Should be ZERO stars, but I have to give at least one on here in order to post this. With a little…read moreresearch (after the fact), I learned that their "plumbers" are actually salesmen who earn a commission. So, expect high-pressure tactics and quotes for the most amount of money they can squeeze out of your wallet. They pressured an elderly family member into signing up for an extremely expensive repair, and even discouraged her from getting other quotes. Turns out, the actual repair was MUCH smaller than they said on the estimate, but since it's a flat rate, we still had to pay the full amount (almost ten thousand dollars). Oh, and then after the initial repair was done, they found another "problem" farther down the line and wanted to fix that...for another $10K. Unbelievable. I reached out to their customer service dept several times and didn't get so much as a reply. We'll never be using Roto Rooter for anything ever again. Hire them if you're looking to get severely ripped off. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and use a good, local tradesman. Also, don't ever let them talk to elderly loved ones. They WILL take advantage of them.

I can't believe it's taken me 3 years to write this review! K & S has been my go-to plumber for the…read morepast few years. I do real estate full-time and I first used them to assess the sewer lines in an apartment building my brother and I were personally in the process of buying and he found a sink hole underneath due to the corroded sewer lines (saving us thousands of dollars.) Ever since I have recommended them to all my buyer and seller clients in need of a plumbing inspection, repair or scope! Which is honestly saying a lot, because after 11 years in real estate, I have very very few contractors I recommend. Because a lot are unreliable, but NOT them! They respond quickly, they show up, they are available in emergencies, they do great work, they are super knowledgeable, they are honest and they NEVER pressure my clients into repairs they don't need. They treat your home like it's their home and what they'd personally and professionally recommend! There is also not enough space in here to share all the things they've caught for my clients: rotted sewer stack mains, sewer gas leaks, water intrusion, leaking lines, safety concerns and so much more. Plus, the willingness to put my clients mind at ease by discussing their reports in person or over the the phone at literally all hours. And never making you feel like any question is a silly question... they truly care! If you hire them I promise you won't regret it! Thank you so much Sean, Justin and the K & S Family for being the best in the business! You so appreciated!! Sincerely, A realtor who only trusts them for all her and her clients plumbing needs! (I attached some photos from a recent job, where they scoped and saw the sewer stack was rotted. They then replaced it and replaced all the old waterlines as well.)
