This company is amazing! They installed screens on 15 of our windows. They are very strong and secure and keep the many bugs out. Even the ones that were 18 feet high. Do not waste your time with Ohana Screen Master. Here today and gone tomorrow. Jerry installed my 16' 3 panel screens on my lanai and when a rivet screw became loose causing the entire set/panel to come out causing a safety issue for my toddler, he first said he would come back to fix/tighten it. Then, left me hanging several months. I continued to followup and he he refused to fix it. I am still left to this day with the entire screen coming out because he refused to fix what he installed. Do yourself a favor when choosing a screen installer, choose a company that will stand by their work and come back to repair if needed. read more

My screen door on my sliding door has been a problem for at least 8 years. It would never stay on the track, either jumping it or jamming. I even had the screen replaced & it worked until it was out of warranty. No one has ever been able to fix it & the door companies that came out wanted to replace the whole sliding glass door, saying it was the only way to fix the problem. I was referred here by a friend who said Jerry fixed his door like mine 2 years ago & it stilled worked. I called him, he came out & it's finally FIXED! Put in a new track & it glides like a dream. $200 is a lot cheaper than $3000 for a new door. Couldn't be happier! read more

First time inputting a review on yelp. Needed to find a vendor to fix the lanai sliding door and kitchen window found Ohana screen. Jerry and his man did the work now my sliding door slides very smooth. They are now working on the kitchen windows. Will need to come back. Overall their work is fast and quick. Needed to get things done and they came. Jerry is busy so sometimes a little hard to get a quick response back but when he says he will come he will. FINALLY!!! Our glass sliding door is back in action. My poor tenants couldn't even open the door in fear that it might fall right out. We've been putting off the repairs for so long because prior estimates were outrageous and seemed so complicated. I was so happy when Jerry said he could fix the glass door and tracks without having to replace EVERYTHING. I highly recommend Ohana screen Master! I desperately needed screen replacement as all of mine had holes and tears from my dog. Plus it's summer and all the bugs are out. Very unhappy with the service and lack of professionalism, but price was reasonable. Jerry picked up my screens on May 25, said he would have them done by next week Tuesday (June 4th) but after a lot of stress and zero to no communication from Jerry I finally got them back on June 14 (ten days late). This in itself is bad, but what's worse is that I had called and left in excess of 10 messages (text and voice), but did not hear from him AT ALL until June 10, to which he said I'd get the screens tomorrow (11th) or Wednesday (12th) - this didn't happen as I got them on the 14th. In the end, I felt like I was lied to multiple times and the complete lack of communication is unforgivable; his excuse was that he was "swamped". read more

If you want a trustworthy person who will do a quality job, I would highly recommend Jerry. He's thorough, knowledgeable and does a seamless job. My condo required the screens to be custom made inside my apartment being as my sliding doors are larger than the standard size and cannot fit in the building elevators. He also needed to add new tracks and shave down some bolts but all was done very carefully as to not damage anything in my unit. He even fixed one of my glass sliding doors for free and everything glides effortlessly now. I'm very happy with the quality and installation and I would definitely use him again. I do want to note we didn't get off on the best foot. He was several hours late to our scheduled appointment time, with no notice. I was very upset and even considered canceling the appointment. However, he was very apologetic and promised me he would get the job done in a timely manner. He worked until 7:30pm on my screens and had to return a few days later to complete the second door. The lack of integrity, quality workmanship and not honoring their warranty on their work is NOT worth the money you save because you'll probably have to have someone else come in and fix what they messed up and refuse to fix, or have a new door installed entirely. Sure you can't beat the price on screen doors but (and this is a huge butt) Jerry is unreliable, does not return your phone calls and in doing so cannot honor the warranty on their work that is supposed to come with your screen. We had a screen door installed and it fit the door frame perfectly for a week or two and then the door started catching the threshold a little bit, more and more every day until it stopped closing on its own entirely. I told Jerry this but he said it was my cement threshold that is the issue. Yeah, like concrete can swell to the point where my door no longer closes. Yeah right! What cockameemee B.S.! He's just making up excuses to not honor his workmanship and I am pretty pissed off about it! Hense this honest and objective review of how crappy this company is... spend the extra $200 or so for real workmanship and integrity!!! read more

I really hate to leave just 2 stars, but even that may be generous. One star is for the one time we made an appointment and someone showed up to fix our screens. The second time, we made an appointment, and no one showed up. No phone call or anything. And then it happened again. We gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time, like maybe it was an honest mistake. But after it happened twice, I'm sorry, but that's not ok. People plan their days around this! And it is beyond rude and inconsiderate to not only not show up, but not to call and at least give a heads up!! When my husband called to see if anyone was coming, he said he was still working at a previous job and would not be coming today, but he would call to reschedule. Never did. Had a screen door installed 7 years ago with nothing to complain about. Just recently the handle to the screen door snapped off so I called Ohana to see if they had a replacement. Jerry said they don't make the same style but he could install a compatible replacement. We set an appointment for a Friday afternoon but I didn't receive a confirmation phone call to nail down a specific time. Called over the weekend and left a voicemail message. No one bothered to call back. Called back Monday morning and Jerry apologized for not returning my call. Said he would be out late Monday afternoon to do the job. Never received a confirmation call and waited the entire afternoon. Ohana makes a good product but their lack of followup phone calls and broken appointments will force me to go elsewhere for service. read more

Screens in my house are 30 years old, and some deteriorated on their own and some were chewed by rats. The sliding screen doors all needed new rollers. In addition, 2 glass sliding doors were stuck due to concrete that had swollen above the frames. (One had been immobile for over a decade; the other could be opened and closed over only about a one foot span.) Gerry came to the house to evaluate the repair needs. He wasn't sure he could fix the glass sliders but said he would try. He provided a written estimate, and when he finally completed the work, it was beyond my expectations. He built 3 new window screen frames and rescreened 4 small and 1 large screen. He rescreened 3 sliding doors (resizing 2 of them) and replaced the rollers. In addition, he was able to remove and resize 2 glass sliding doors, which to me was a bonus. Gerry's price was quite reasonable and fair. The 5 stars I'm giving him are for the workmanship and quality. Note, however, that he is extremely busy, and I considered reducing his rating based on his lack of responsiveness: It took 3 weeks to get his written estimate and almost 3 months before he could finally get to my house to get the work done. I received Ohana Screen Master's (OSM) contact info from a competitor who was too booked up to do my job. OSM was able to come over the following day to repair my track on a sliding glass door as well as fabricate an awesome sliding screen, two pet screens and also repair a few jalousie windows. Overall I am extremely satisfied with their workmanship and would recommend them. On a side note, the sliding screen they fabricated is much much better than anything you can buy at the large home improvement stores and is worth the additional coin. read more

I was in dire need of 1 sliding screen door. The couple sliding doors I bought after the original dies just never lasted very long. I really need 2 sliding doors, but 1 was desperately needed. I talked to Jerry about getting a new sliding door made, and a week later he stopped by took a bunch of measurements and a couple times. The old adage measure twice cut once. Anyone long story short, the sliding door he made for us is absolutely better than I could ever have expected. The door slides like its supposed to, and the locking mechanism is actually metal, but the plastic crap I got with the previous 2 doors I purchased from a home improvement store. I'm sorry to report a negative experience with Ohana Screen Master. They have consistently displayed a non-willingness to take on a project that they had committed to by scheduling a date for repair then cancelling the date and advising that they would do the job a few days later and would call during the week to advise the time. They never called back to schedule the time for the day of the repair and have since not gotten back to me. From my recent experience they do not honor their commitment. read more

We contacted Jerry at Ohana Screen Master on a Tuesday. Asking if he could come and repair most of my window screens. We contacted him because he had done a good job for many of the units in my building 9 years ago. He schedule an appointment with my friend who is staying with me at the moment, to come the next day (Wednesday) between 10am to 12pm. My friend made sure to clear his schedule so that he could be at my place since I was working. Jerry no call, no showed. When my friend called after 12pm had passed with no Jerry, he was given a new time of 3pm to 5pm. The reason given was that he was really busy with another big job. My friend adjusted his schedule yet again. Then 5pm came and went, still no Jerry - again, no call no show. Around 7pm Jerry finally made contact, to say he and his worker are still at the big job site and probably wouldn't be able to make it out until really late, like after 9pm. My friend said to go ahead and come, because not only did we really need the screens repaired, but Jerry had said that he can turn it around in 24 hrs, which would help me because without all of my screens, I can't open the windows due to bugs - which makes it very stuffy during the day for my dog. He and his worker finally showed up somewhere around 9:45pm -- 9 1/2 hours later than originally promised. He was very friendly did say that he was on this other "big job". He took all the screens and said he couldn't get them done by Thursday (the next day) seeing as how it was so late, and I told him I understood that. He said he'll get it to me by Friday, and would come between 5 and 7pm to install the repaired and new screens. My friend couldn't be at my place at that time, so I asked my 75 year old father to wait at my place. Jerry no called and no showed AGAIN. And then when we tried to follow up with him multiple times to find out where he was, his voicemail was full. Finally after 8pm, Jerry contacts to say he can't make it out, as he's still on this big job. 3 hours my Dad was waiting before Jerry thought to call and say he can't come out after all. He showed no concern for his client and how inconvenienced we were, and no concern about how to make it right. Then at 9pm that evening he texts: "Sorry, I shouldn't have taken your job because I have been very busy with already scheduled jobs. Furthermore, nobody on this island would get a job done in such a short period. I worked on your screens until 10pm last night. I understand they are small screens, but because of the wicket, they take longer than a regular screen frame. Unfortunately, I am still on a job at this time." I replied and said to save him from having to come to my house - I said just text me about what time you'll be in to your shop in the morning, and I can come and get them and install them myself. That was sent immediately after he sent his message. He never replied. Then the next morning, at 930am, he texts me that he's in Waianae (i.e. he had already gone to his shop and didn't bother to text me to pick up my screens), and that he'll text me when he's back at his shop. At that point, I was so appalled that I immediately asked my friends for recommendations of alternate screen folks. I found a great one, he was super responsive, came, and unlike what Jerry believes, this guy worked on my screens and turned them around in one day and by the next day they were installed and working great. Meanwhile, the NEXT DAY, he texts me at 2pm, to tell me he's leaving Wahiawa to do a job in Manoa, and has my screens in his truck and he can drop them off. I told him I don't need them anymore and I couldn't wait for him so I found someone else to do it. Then he sends me the following: "I SPENT 8 HOURS REDOING YOUR SCREENS WITH GREAT CAUTION, AND YOU DO THIS TO ME. I kept your screens from Wednesday late at night, and they are ready n ow. That's 3 days only! Good luck getting your screens within 3 to 4 days with someone else. This is very ungrateful." Missing the point ENTIRELY. Here's the problem: (1) the day of coming to take the screens - he was 9 1/2 hours beyond his given window. (2) he took the job and said he could do it within 24 hrs - it's not my problem/fault that he over-committed, yet he made it my problem and was unapologetic. (3) Horrible communication - I understand emergencies arise, but COMMUNICATE timely, not only after we have to chase you. The multiple no-calls and no-shows with no apologies and only concern for himself and his big job (which turned out to be multiple jobs) was horrible customer service. (4) And he has the nerve to call me ungrateful after we waited a combined total of over 12 1/2 hours during appts that JERRY scheduled (i.e. his time frame, not ours), and that if we had just continued to wait, by the time he texted me on Sunday, it would have been another 24 hours plus, of waiting with no texts/communication about what's happening.
