If I could, I would give 0 stars. We called for a quote, but never got one. First of all, when we called to confirm that they were going to come the day of, we were told that they didn't have us down in their schedule, but they said they can send someone last minute. Second of all, the guy that came did not bring anything to measure with or to take notes with for the screens we wanted replaced. Third of all, we waited a week and were still not given a quote. Larry and his partner came by to take a look at my sliding lanai doors. He removed one of the doors and took measurements and pictures so that he could locate the proper parts. I also mentioned that I would like the hardware on the windows replaced and new screen doors ordered. Larry was able to locate the rollers for these ancient doors and have the screens and screen doors ordered. On installation day everything I asked for was done and the place looks a lot better, not to mention the doors can now be opened. He was very careful and pointed out that there was a problem with one of the windows and recommended that it be taken care of. I called Thomas at the office and he got right to work trying to find a vendor to supply the necessary hardware. Thomas even sent me a text today to let me know that he is still trying to find a source since these are old jalousies. I am hoping for a solution, but am confident that Thomas will find something for me. I felt that for the amount of work and materials provided that the price was more than fair. CCI windows provided lower rates, professional service, and quick timeline. However, they need to provide more in-project updates and ask for customer feedback on-site. Project: We needed 16 windows and 2 sliding doors replaced in our house. Pros: Compared with other large window companies on-island, and Home Depot rates, CCI was most affordable for our project. They provided an informative free estimate appointment and provided quotes in just a couple days. They weren't pushy on selling or trying to brag about their company. Just facts and space to think. The window order arrived in 2 months and they immediately installed them upon arrival. The men were friendly, polite and professional. The work was done quickly and they covered up beds and furniture to protect during project. Installed an average of 5 windows per day. Took 4 days total. Cons: My main suggestion for improvement is for the company to provide more opportunities for customer feedback during the project and to give detailed updates along the way. We worked during the project hours and provided a key lock box to gain access to our home. (They were respectful to our home and property.) And I would come home to view the progress and have to guess at what was half-finished or completed. I would have to send emails and photos to the company to get information about the project. Although I met the main manager on-site, he was different than the sales rep I worked with. He should have provided his contact info if I had questions or wanted to contact him during the day. Also, a daily email update at the end of each day would have been best. Now that everything is finished, we are happy with the final product and the price we paid. If you're expecting a quick and stress-free job, look elsewhere. If you're looking to replace the windows in your apartment, well you're SOL because they're the only window installation company certified to work in apartments. In early 2020 we ordered windows for our apartment expecting them to be shipped within a couple months, taking the pandemic into account. Whenever we inquired about the status of the windows, we were told that they hadn't arrived yet. After almost a year of contact with them, they finally admitted that they did not order the windows in the first place due to ignorance. After that we were told again that the windows would actually be ordered. Finally, when the time came to install them we had come to find out as they're hauling it into our apartment that they ordered the handles on the wrong side. This created a potential safety hazard if a small child or inattentive person walked into the eye-level handle right next to our sliding door. Instead of exchanging the windows, we had compromised to keep all but one of them "as is" since they were mostly out of the way. The last one next to our sliding door we wanted to be replaced with handles on the same side as our previous window. The next time they came around they had brought the same exact window but with less obstructive sliding handles. However, unbeknownst to me as I was working from home in the other room they had installed the window upside down thinking the handles should've been on the side farther away from the sliding door. By doing this the jalousies faced inward which would've allowed easy access for the rain in our windy, high rise apartment. After repeated attempts to explain this error to them, they tried to pin the blame on us for not catching this mistake. In our minds this error should've been caught by the experts installing our windows whose job it is to double check their work. Furthermore, at no instance did they express remorse or a customer-oriented mindset giving us excuse after excuse for why the windows were ordered and installed incorrectly. The silver lining here is that the owner himself comes out to measure everything and is very helpful and friendly. I appreciate him taking the time to double check our windows and apologize for some of the mistakes. Other than that I cannot in good faith recommend this company for lying to us about placing the order and then blaming us for failing to look over their contractors' shoulders as they installed our window upside down. If you're willing to wait over a year for your windows to not be ordered, then this is the company for you. If getting exactly what you want is optional, then you're in for a real surprise. Joking aside, please call another company to do your windows. 15 minutes could save you 15 months or more of headaches and terrible customer service. read more

It was a nightmare working with this company. They did start off wonderful but then it started going down hill. Let me point out just some and certainly not everything we had to endure. 1) We as the customer having to always follow up 2) Lack of communication and misinformation. The misinformation had the potential to be a bigger deal but the company thought it was insignificant and brushed it aside. The term they used was that we overreacted. Trust me, we did not overreact to this misinformation on CCI's part especially in the current state of our society. This was a big deal! So much so a CCI employee became defensive and berated us for their misinformation, mistakes and errors. The employee went as far as to raise their voice to me of their staffing issues as though it was my fault. 4) Work that was supposed to take 4 days took twice as long without any communication on status. We weren't sure if workers were going to show up. We understood about the shipping delays in material which we communicated to them. It was the actual installation work that we were kept in the dark and having to continually follow up with them was tiring. 5) They left trash for us and we were told they were coming to clean the windows after the job. When we got home, the window glass still had fingerprints (it wasn't ours) and we had to throw away the tiles and these tiles weren't light. I texted Robin Kameda on this but no reply. See photo. The owner Robin Kameda is aware of all this but has not answered any of my communication to him including a post-it note to Robin that was attached with our final $6,000 payment ($20K plus total for this job) to reply to my email communication but he has yet to reply. They received the note because they deposited the check. What's happened has happened and it is what it is. However, leaving the trash behind and not clean the glass when you said you would is indicative of the integrity of this company and the fact that the owner does not reply to simply have a discussion as to what happened is sad. As a local company their action had no Aloha and being local, we're really disappointed with the way CCI has treated us. I guess they got paid so that's all that matters to them. Contractors installed total of 8 windows areas (mainly large) throughout the home over 2 1/2 days (mainly on the east side of our home---which the existing aluminum windows have deteriorated due to sea salt spray over the years). Same experience as a prior reviewer (Michael W) - poor communication after the initial visit. It took many frustrated emails and weeks later to pry (yes, pry, because that's what it felt like, and that's probably being too polite to them) an estimate from this company. And once we got the estimate, many of the windows that were quoted were not the window styles we requested. I think part of the problem is that the person that comes to the house to look at and measure the windows and sliding doors that need to be replaced is NOT the same person doing the estimate. Thus, details get lost in translation. Hopefully this gets fixed because their poor customer service lost them my business to a competitor. Also, FYI, the estimate we received had several thousand dollars quoted for just shipping/cargo. I realize they ship their windows pre-made from the mainland, but so too does Windows Hawaii and diamond head. We contacted CCI to do a total house replacement of all windows and sliding doors (around 20 windows and 2 sliding doors), but we thought the price quoted for mere shipping was ridiculous. Maybe CCI should blend some or most of the shipping cost into each individual window quote so that one line on the estimate doesn't look that bad. read more

Congratulations CCI Windows for winning the dubious award of being the company that gave me such a disappointing experience that it made me want to create a Yelp account just to let others know your service isn't all five stars. TL:DR - It's been several months and in spite of several "apologies" and promises I have been stood up repeatedly--just to get a quote! I had an estimator from CCI Windows come to my house on Friday, August 4th to give me a quote for replacing 15 windows. He was very friendly and full of knowledge which I appreciated. He also pointed out some things that would need to be done that other contractors failed to mention. All good things. He says he'll have an estimate to me shortly and leaves. All next week goes by. I call their office that Friday and inquire on the status of my window replacement estimate. They said they were still working through the numbers with a new hire and would need a few more days. "By next Wednesday," they said. Another week goes by and nothing from these people. Not even a courtesy call to say they're still working on it. Leaving a customer hanging like that is not professional and rude. Life goes on and at the one month point I figured I'd give them one last chance. I call on the morning of September 1st. I speak to the lady who answers the phone. I tell her my situation and that I'm very disappointed that no one has contacted me with an estimate after being told twice now of deadlines that have come and gone without a word. She took my name, phone number and said the estimator who worked with me would call me back. I waited all day. No call. Can't say I was surprised at this point. You've wasted enough of my time CCI Windows. I'll take my money elsewhere. I recommend others do the same. -------------------- Update 1: After reading Robin's response to my Yelp review, I decided to give his company another chance and called the store on Sept 6th. He was apologetic and explained that they were going through turnover with some of their employees. He continued that he would talk to the estimator who had my file and I would have an estimate soon. Update 2: THREE WEEKS PASSED AND NO CALL! I came back from a work trip on September 29th and called CCI Windows. Robin picks up the phone. He said the estimator that was working my account was gone for the day and asked if they could call me around the middle of next week. I told him he told me a similar line last time. Also, three weeks passed and nothing was done?!? Other companies got back to me within a day with an estimate and these folks are literally at the two month mark! I told Robin I am trying to be understanding, but it's unacceptable how long this is taking. Robin was apologetic, agreed and said he would call me on Monday (02OCT) with my estimate. We'll see.... Update 3: Monday came and went. No call. Can't say I'm surprised, but at this point I'm angry that the OWNER of the company just strung me along, lying to me, and without the balls to just tell me his company--for whatever reason--couldn't given give me the time to do what they promised me time and time again. He was very honest in saying fiberglass being more durable but more expensive and that for our purposes, vinyl would be just fine. Chris sent out the estimate that very day. ZERO, ZERO ,ZERO for customer service. CCI stands for Cocky, Creepy Idiots. Called here to schedule an estimation for my mother's renovation. Bad service started with the abrupt receptionist. She rudely interrupted me before I could finish stating my situation. Amazingly, she shut her mouth long enough so I could finish explaining to her what it was. Then she put me on hold without TELLING me she was going to transfer my call to another person. So I had to EXPLAIN myself ALL OVER again. I absolutely despise that. Why couldn't she explain my situation to that person? If I have to repeat myself then why did I explain it to her to begin with? Useless and a waste of my time. But that was just the icing on the cake. So I was transferred to a man named Robert. He asked me how the windows operate. Being that I've never called for a window renovation before, the question took me off guard. So I said--excuse me? Then he got testy with me. He asked me like he was talking to a 5 year old and deliberately slow, he asked, " do they open ouuut or do they sliiide?" Even if we were on the phone I could totally see him rolling his eyes up in exasperation like I was the world's most incompetent idiot. Well, listen Robert, I suggest you work the midnight shift in some factory line so you won't have to put up with the public--how's that? Then things got even better... so we communicated some more--and like the receptionist before him, he would interrupt me too. We finally came to the part to set up the estimation appt. He was shooting out all these dates/times and they weren't working out for me. Then he says, " you need to give me a time so I can work with something here." Well, listen Robert--had you kindly ASKED me when I was available before throwing out all your times and dates, you wouldn't have wasted your breath, right? How's that? Then he proposes the weirdest thing---he said no one needs to be home in order for him to measure the windows. And I was like--WHA?? He seriously thought I would be ok with a complete stranger in my mom's house when no one's home? Sorry, but this ain't Mulberry, buddy. So we finally settled on a day in the afternoon. But I could totally hear it in his voice he was not cool with it. He sighed heavily(drama queen) and said," alright then, I'll be there at 3:30." So I asked him, "is that time ok with you because I'm sensing that it's not." To which he huffingly replies, " well, mornings work out better for me." FOR YOU???? Better for YOU?? PUHLEEEZZE! What do you have going on at 3:30 in the afternoon, Robert? Some online chat session? A snooze, perhaps? Afternoon tea? Your customers have to work around YOUR schedule? NOT! So obviously that's when I'd had enough and snapped. Needless to say, the appt was canceled and I'm now working with another company that does NOT interrupt me, and does NOT talk down to me, and was more than happy to accommodate MY schedule and time (in the afternoon in case you want to know) BTW, Robert called back to apologize about his behavior. He blamed his lack of customer skills/rudeness to some issues he was having. All of a sudden his schedule was open, and he could do the estimation right now( how about that--it was in the afternoon!) Go elsewhere. CCI's estimator had no experience installing windows and carpentry. As it later turned out, all the windows ordered were too small for the existing frames. Robin or an installer should have come out to measure and verify the estimator's measurements. They have some wonderful workers who did their best with foam, wood and caulk but they are at the mercy of the scheduler who will send them elsewhere before finishing a job. Starting Dec. 20 there were delays due to covid and workmen leaving early for personal reasons or being sent to another job. This is not a professional outfit. read more

It's almost been a year since CCI installed our windows and AC units and it's still looking great! Erik was our Sales/Estimator and he was excellent to work with. He was able to answer any questions/concerns that we had. Kyle and Hoku installed our windows and AC units. They were excellent to work with as well. The project took a day longer than expected which wasn't a big deal. Even Robin (the owner) came to assist his team to ensure completion. I just finished having my windows installed by CCI and I am very pleased with the product, install team, and the original bidding process. Not only did CCI come at least 50% less then any of the four bids I received, but their estimated shipping time (8 weeks) and install period (3 days) were all correct. The install was a little dusty and dirtier then I thought it'd be, but no way would I reduce my rating for that. Yes I had my windows done by them a long time ago (2005). They are amazing, friendly, straight to the point, and they were helpful and replaced all of my windows (13). Very prompt, professional, and reliable. I would use them again! One of the handles broke off recently, and I was able to stop by and get the part. In fact I called two other companys when I was looking to replace my windows, one told me after walking into their place wearing shorts and t-shirt that "I probably couldn't afford them" how's that for wanting my business and I was paying cash little did they know. Ended up emailing with pictures of the broken part asking for some help in what they were and if parts were available. Owner replied and said windows were out of warranty because the company no longer exists, but good news, they have the parts available for purchase or service starts at $100 per call. Great, how do I purchase the part, I reply... no response. Called a week later to ask how to purchase and was told they would call back... nothing. Thanks now for giving me enough time to figure out that I can buy this part for half the price somewhere else. Did you not respond because I was not the type of customer you wanted? We replaced all of the 40+ year old jalousies in our home this past spring. CCI was great. First, they were the only company that provided us with a very neat and professional cost estimate for the work that included the price for each window and drawing for each window. Second, the installation was on time and well done. (Larry was our installer and his workmanship was terrific.) We chose to have installed sliding and double-hung windows. The windows make the living room and dining room look so charming, we are very happy with the results. We had solicited quotes from 2 other window companies. Had CCI install their awning windows about 15 years ago. Tons of people bought them.Then a few years ago, the manufacturers of their windows decided to end their business. Then all CCI employees retired/ resigned and this new company bought them out and retained the CCI name. The original CCI was never a problem. Rabbit would measure and give me an estimate and I would give a deposit and schedule a date. They would do the project in a few days and Bingo....all pau. I did a little work at a time because I could not afford to do all of the windows at one time. Real simple and not complicated. When Robin took over, things turned south. He eventually sent a fairly new estimator. She rambled and went on and on and at the end I ended wondering why did I waste my time. I complained to Robin and he was pretty rude. He did not want to hear what I had to say. Listen to your customer and try to accommodate your customer as best as you can. Nothing happened and all I heard was excuses. All this happened when Robin took over, so it was a few years ago. I had to chime in today because I still remembered my experience with the "new" CCI because it was the worst experience I ever had with any company. I can see by the other reviews that this owner still lacks communication with his customers and gives excuses. He always backs up his employees, which is admirable, but never accommodates the customer. He also lacks communication skills as I had to chase him to down to speak with him. Some things never change based on what I see in other reviews. In the end I went with another company. read more
