I enjoy the classic flavors and sweet-savory sauces, but I feel that the food is greasier and heavier than it tends to be at similar places. I really love the seafood options here and would definitely recommend the fried fish. Staff is friendly and service has been pretty quick in my experience. I usually get my food to go as I don't feel that it's that nice or comfy inside, but I've dined in before when I was in a hurry and it was fine. If I were to suggest one thing, it would be to allow for greater customization of the plates. You get your protein laid out on a bed of steamed veggies, a few scoops of rice, and a scoop of Mac salad. As far as I know, they don't allow substitutions. I eat brown rice but not white rice, so I would prefer to be able to swap it for extra veggies.

Not a great experience... they're either understaffed or just careless with people's time and food…read more They constantly had complete orders just sitting on the counter and not handing out to customers. I patiently waited for my order as they had warned me it would be about a 20 minute wait. However, after 20 minutes I watched my order just sitting at the counter "waiting to be just bagged" (as the employee stated) which ultimately took another 10 minutes of it just sitting there! Instead of handing out the completed orders, they prioritize taking new drive-thru and walk-in orders. Instead of pushing out orders, they're adding more, makes no sense. I've never had this experience at other locations, so safe to say I'll skip on another visit here.

The Hawaiian BBQ plate is amazing... the chicken was juicy and flavorful and the beef is so tasty. I recommend getting a side of Mac salad or rice because you will have plenty of meat leftover. The next day I went for the first time, I was in a hurry and I only had 20 minutes to be back at the hospital. Although I wanted shrimp and or a fish that was going to take 20 minutes to make it and I did not have that to give. The cashier lady said that the barbecue beef would be the fastest thing to make so I went with that. I ordered two. I got that in about 10 minutes and I was able to rush back to the hospital in time. Later, I was eating this on my way home and while driving and can I tell you that this was GOOD. I really wish I was sitting at a table to eat it because I just wanted to chow down, but I could only take quick bites at lights so I was very sad about that. The next day, I decided to stop by again because if you find something good, no need to go somewhere else. This time, I was with my mom and based on the pictures on the wall, she chose the Hawaiian fried rice mix and we decided to share it. There was so much food. We were both able to eat and each had leftovers to eat the other half the next day. The food is really good and I will definitely be back. Not only is it good, they give you a lot and the price is not too outrageous. Highly recommend.

The serving is actually good for two people. He likes the katsu sauce with it. The servers/workers are very nice and very efficient. Their attention to details are very good. They check the food to make sure everything is there. Extra sauces are given for free or just get some on the self-serve area. The place can be very busy at lunch/dinner hours. There were times that the place was packed, we have to get our food to go. Tables, chairs and floor can be sticky once in a while because of the sauces that were not thoroughly cleaned. The prices went up quite a bit - the higher pay for workers and food ingredients needs to be taken in consideration. All in all, we will keep coming here as long as our budget can cover for it. Happy eating ! Keep up the good work, guys and gals !

1 Star - Extremely Disappointing Experience…read more DO NOT EAT HERE! My daughter and I ate the BBQ chicken plate at Ono Hawaiian, and afterward, we both became so sick that we ended up having to go to urgent care. What should have been a simple meal turned into a frightening and miserable experience for both of us. I am extremely disappointed and concerned about the quality and safety of the food served here. No customer should have to go through something like this after eating a meal. This experience has completely changed how I feel about this restaurant, and I would not feel comfortable returning. I hope management takes this seriously and looks into what happened. Based on our experience, I would strongly caution others to think twice before eating here. First, I arrived shortly after they opened on a Tuesday, which is important to highlight because they're closed on Mondays, and I suspect one dish I tried had the texture of leftovers (from the weekend). Part of me wants to try again later in the week, and day to see if this was a fluke. What I ordered was a rice bowl with braised pork belly and daily vegetables. Everything was good except the pork was dry and tough, clearly not braised that day or heated all the way through. I forget what my first choice was, but it wasn't available that day. My other item was the wonton soup, which also disappointed me for a few reasons. Portion size is good, but the broth tasted really thin, watery, and the wontons were overcooked and falling apart. The cause was they were forgotten about and the pot boiled over. Generally, you cook these below the boil to prevent the cloudy mess from disintegrating skins. The filling tasted fine, but again, overall flavors and balance was marred. I did, however, enjoy the lenon tea that comes with every combination meal. And, the employees are very nice, but the food didn't make the cut. They have a big menu and I've seen the skewers and hot pots in action so I know there's potential.

I believe at a certain point it was a Polynesian Mexican fusion restaurant based on photos, but during my visit, it's definitely more skewed to being a Polynesian restaurant. It's in a somewhat suburban area, so there's street parking and you may have to walk a bit, but we were able to find parking just right across. Park Avenue is a mini mart and shop, along with a restaurant. Hot foods, baked goods, shirts and apparel, jewelry, imported snacks and sweets, canned and jarred foods, and a fridge with some drinks and to go goods too. I was already super full already, but we were able to try a bit of the food and take the rest to go. Pretty generous portions and very unique food that is a bit more difficult to find elsewhere. We got the Taupou Plate which is a 3 item plate order with 2 side items. For this, we chose the lamb, turkey tail, and curry and for the side items we got the banana and taro. Interesting mix of sweet, creamy, savory, and umami. I'm not the biggest fan of turkey, but turkey tail isn't a very common "cut of meat" to order. Really rich, tender, and a bit greasy, but if you love turkey, this is perfect for you. Nice mix of flavors with this order and has the most variety. Definitely get this if you want a little bit of everything. Lamb meat was also moist and rich as well. Unique eats and great welcoming service as well!

The flavor was soo good! The coleslaw and the sauce were creamy, sweet, and seasoned well. I used them to help with the spice level. We got them spicy and it was a tear jerker! The spice did not linger but rather just punch you in the face . Potent in a powdery way (maybe cayenne). My sinus cleared up and my eyes got watery. Would come again and get them mild.
