My favorite restaurant in Baltimore. The food and service ALWAYS shine. The ambience is tight,…read morequaint, but a little noisy. I lived in Boston previously and Thames's lobster roll is BETTER than any I had there. It's my default order, but explore their specials when they catch my eye. I can also recommend thier scallops and fish. Their crab cakes are great as well; however, I reccomend getting other items here and crab cakes elsewhere if you're making multiple food stops in Bmore as there are equally good crab cakes at other places (Pappas, Faidleys, Nick's, Coco's etc.) but not equally good other dishes. I'm not an oyster guy, but they also have the best raw bar in town, and they have an in house dedicated pastry chef who makes desserts which are to die for if you save room.

It was a cozy location and although they were busy they quickly got us seated! The staff was prompt at filling our drinks and getting us more tasty eats. We ended up getting two trays of oysters (went well with our gin martinis), and the crab soup with short rib. So enjoyable and really warmed our bellies. I will definitely return to try their crab cake (the gentleman next us ordered it) enticing me to come back.

So it cost me $10-15 to for a plastic takeout container. Had I not looked at the customer copy of the bill I would have not only not known but I would have tipped based on the total which already included the additional gratuity charge (which was not disclosed on the merchant copy). This is so unnecessary and ruined what would have been a good experience. They said it was a "sharing charge" which I have experienced and applies when u have another diner with you and u decide to split an entree. Had they disclosed I would at least had the option to finish the meal. The saying "stepping over dollars to pick up pennies " seems to apply as this left such a bad taste I doubt I will return despite the fact the crab cake was delicious and the loaded baked potato was average (hardly loaded) Beware of the hidden gratuity for take home leftovers!!! Update to above: I did follow up with Angie this morning and she was very kind and offered to credit back my card for the extra gratuity. She also explained that I was misled about the "sharing charge" but they do automatically add 15% gratuity regardless of party size or quality of service. So I would give 4 stars for the food quality and 1 star for the way in which they present and charge gratuity. Tipping should remain at the discretion of the diner based on service and food quality otherwise just get rid of tipping and raise your prices

The Rockefeller oysters were the best I have had yet... the spinach and cheese stuffing was absolutely delicious. The gorgeous weather played a major role in how electric the atmosphere was, and the outside patio was jubilant and filled with patrons. Now for me the raw oyster tower selection pushed my experience over the top. The oysters were fresh and chilled to perfection. And for the record, the menu is filled with a lot more tasty dishes than just oysters... so I encourage you on the next nice day ( over the spring & summer ) to stop by Mama's on the Half Shell for an experience that won't disappoint.

Good people watching--out the window to the folks outside below, but also into the kitchen just behind us. We observed a very well-run establishment. Several staff including the manager, who had a great sense of humor and kind-spiritedness, stopped by to check on us. We didnt end up ordering brunch since items on the other menus won us over very quixkly: the crab cake eggrolls (appetizer) and the crab grilled cheese (lunch). Being ambitious, we did ask the server to leave the menu behind, just in case. There was so much deliciousness to choose from But alas, we were satiated. To drink, we skipped the bottomless Mimosa and Bloody Mary and opted instead for a Blood Orange Margarita (which was more berry-like in color) and a Passion Fruit Mezcal Sour. Both were a tad sweet for our preference but very good otherwise. Would definitely recommend and hope to return.

We loved every single thing. The bangers and mash might have been our favorite, it was super flavorful, and they even included some mustard to go along with it. My husband ate most of it. We were impressed with the portion sizes as well. The fish and chips were delicious. The fish was super flakey and not dry. Even the crawfish etouffee was super tasty. Were already talking about getting over there to eat in person. This will definitely be our go to Irish pub.

When we arrived back at our hotel bar they were about to close and suggested we check out this place. We followed there advice and were so glad we did. Upon entry they appeared to be closng down and said they go with the number of patrons to determine their closing time. This worked out greatly as once we arrived and only two other patrons were at the bar a swarm soon followed. Our favorite bartender is Laura. I noticed a huge difference in her making my drink and the other bartenders who only ask for your order but give no suggestions, do not offer to allow you to sample something on tap, and the potency. I soon realized that I will only recommend this place to others if Laura is the bartender. There were times we wanted to try something new, she asked a few questions and handcrafted us the perfect drink. Her personality was amazing, drinks were strong, and she kept people wanting to drink and be apart of the banter. If Laura isn't there I am not going. We went two nights in a row and the second night we were there we brought with us a couple we met who were in Bmore from Cleveland for a cruise. They enjoyed the place but it was missing her personality, patrons, and the drinks weren't as handcrafted, special or potent. now for the food. This is by far a pub with the best food I have ever tasted. I ordered the fish and chips that was an amazing fleshy piece of cob hand breaded and a jambalaya that too this day I am still dreaming about with its chunks of chicken breast, sauteed small pieces of sausage and gravy like texture filled with flavor that was bold and packed a welcomed punch. My partner had some type of irish sausage dish and loved it. We will return to visit Laura this spring for our next rendevous here for sure.

The crab cake was flavorful and well-made, the hollandaise was rich and on point, and the grits completely surprised me in the best way. They were incredibly flavorful with what tasted like a horseradish style sauce mixed in, which added a great kick. Easily some of the best grits I've had. I also tried the Scotch eggs that my friend ordered. I normally hate sausage, but these were shockingly good crispy, well-seasoned, and not overly heavy. The mimosa was exactly what it should be simple and refreshing. Champagne and orange juice never fails. Total bill came to $35.25, which is definitely on the pricier side, but this is Baltimore and pretty much in line with what I expected for quality brunch and drinks in this area. The vibe is classic Irish pub dark wood, Irish scarves and flags, and a really cool display of fire department patches on the walls. It felt authentic and cozy without trying too hard. Overall, great food, solid drinks, and a strong brunch option if you're in Fells Point. I'd absolutely come back.

The bar is very vibrant and full of energy and color; they definitely nailed the aesthetic of walking into a beach front bar. Outside of the color and decor, I'd consider this a pretty 'no frills' bar. Definitely not a dive - but a very casual, come as you are kind of spot. Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of crab, so I didn't try their famous crabcakes. I had a few other dishes including their fried fish platter, jerk wings, and honey old bay wings. All the food was solid, not amazing, but good. My dad and brother both really enjoyed their crabcake entrees - so that's what you should be ordering if you pay Koco's a visit. Our server was really great; she was friendly, welcoming, attentive, and fast. She even told us the story of how the bar took on the name 'Koco's'; got to love little connection moments like that. As a con, the kitchen did close at 9ish that Friday so definitely plan to get here on the earlier side if you're looking for a meal. The bar did stay open later than 9p, but most guests and the staff cleaning crew were shutting things down around then. I think it would have felt a little awkward to stay past 9ish. Overall I had a good experience; I'd gladly go back if invited but wouldn't plan a trip here myself. Pro tip: Make a reservation ahead of time, especially on weekends. They are well known for those crabcakes and it can get pretty crowded.
