Went to have a beer there yesterday and it was a great experience. The beer had an amazing flavor…read more It was Creamsicle flavor. The service was great as well. The young lady working there was very friendly, polite and had a smile. Sat outside it was nice. It's dog friendly which I like. Visiting family on the island thought I would try the Thirsty Crab Brewery. I will be recommending this place. Definitely will be going back before I head home. Every time I visit family here on Whidbey Island I will be going there for beer. I was able to visit before heading home. I would recommend Thirsty Crab Brewery to anyone that likes beer.

Well I will say right off the bat if you are trying to get here by GPS it is extremely misleading…read more You can see the business from the main road but you can't turn into the parking lot there. You need to go straight through an intersection just before the brewery, turn on a dirt road and then it will take you to the parking lot. Hopefully directions have been fixed since then by somebody but if not be patient in getting there. My phones were exhausted and running on empty so alas no pictures were taken here unfortunately. We still needed some GPS navigation to get in a homebound direction. There were a lot of good looking beer options here so what we did was get a taster flight which was a wise choice. Some of the beers we had that made up that was a Key Lime Lager which was great. It tasted similar to the dessert and was easily my favorite. Alpenglow was another, also a lager that was pleasant and refreshing. We continued with the unique brews of a Nettle beer, a mango lager and the May Bee Lager. We also got an order of some of their brats from the food truck here. Those weren't too bad, perhaps not the most authentic I have ever came across but enjoyable nonetheless and pairs well with the beers that they have available here. Fun brewery to go to and one that should be stopped at if you are visiting the breweries, cideries, meaderies or wineries on Whidby Island.

This is a great place for beer since they offer high quality suds. Even non alcoholic options like…read morehop water. They have a food truck for Cascadia Pizza outside, which is great pizza. And since they don't have a kitchen, dogs are allowed inside. Service is friendly and helpful, although there's usually just a single bartender working which means you may have to wait for a beer during busy times. I normally would rate them 4 or 5 stars, but they don't list either the prices nor the type of glass they serve it in, so it's up to them how much they'll charge you for a drink and how much they'll give you. They don't even list this info on their website. I could ask the beertender, but when they are busy I feel bad doing this to them and inconveniencing those waiting in line behind me.

This is one of those breweries that quietly becomes *your* place. Volition Brewing isn't just…read moresomewhere I stop by, it's somewhere I go regularly, because it consistently delivers on all the things that matter. The beer is excellent, especially the seasonal releases. There's always something on tap that makes you slow down, pay attention, and then mentally note, "I need to have this again before it's gone." Thoughtful, well-balanced, and clearly brewed with care. The space has real personality. Han frozen in carbonite on the wall... solo, no Jabba in sight. It sets the tone immediately. Add pinball machines (yes, real pinball), and it feels more like a hangout than a tasting room. There are pinball tournaments! The staff is a huge part of why I keep coming back: friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. They know the beer, they like the beer, and it shows. Bonus points for being able to bring in local food. Grab something nearby, bring it in, pair it with a great pint, and you're set. They often have food trucks outback, which is great for those nights when you aren't in the mood to cook. Dinner + beer all in one spot. Amazing beer, amazing staff, and a space that gets it right. Volition is exactly what a local brewery should be.
