I got a hot Cafe Mocha. Was hoping to get the cute cat or bear design that I saw in some of the Yelp pictures but got the standard design instead. It took a while for my drink to come out but thankfully I wasn't in a hurry. Communal seating inside with lots of natural lighting. read more

Great cafe to grab breakfast! I ordered the Smoked Maple Latte and a BLTE. Both were really good! The smoked maple latte was very smooth and creamy. Sweet yet a little savory. The flavor was light, but perfect paring for any sandwich or pastry. The BLTE sandwich was a great portion and I liked that it came with a side salad. I ended up having the second half for lunch, definitely better fresh though. The bread was soft and the chili mayo, egg, and bacon tasted great together. The bacon is not as crispy as bacon you would get from other breakfast spots. I came here when it was not very busy and really liked how the cafe was organized and decorated, however, can definitely see it being more crowded when its busy. Overall, would recommend this cafe! Very cute ambience with stairs to sit on like a stadium , interesting menu options and pretty crowded on Saturdays! They do have wifi here! They told us that that our coffee would take at least 30 mins to make and it did take that long indeed. The biggest highlight and thing to note here to be ready to shell out $10 for a smoked maple latte here tho. It's def good coffee but it did come as a surprise to me that it was so expensive! I'm not a coffee drinker so I'm always eager to find good tea spots. The drinks themselves are very well made. The temperature is just right, the milk foam is one of the best I've had, and the tea flavor shines in the drink. The downfall of this place is the price, and the crowd on the weekend. It's tucked at the corner of downtown crossing and the financial district so it's not very convenient to get to unless you're already in the area. There is free wifi and many people working there but in my opinion, it would be way too crowded and loud for me to work. Also not a good place to sit and chat- again because of the large crowds. If you do happen to be there during a quieter time, I think it would be a cute study spot. read more

BUT, if you get what you pay for, I'm all for it. Ogawa SERVES. The latte art was wonderful. The milk was perfectly foamed and tasty. The espresso was smooth. Not to mention their heavenly gluten-free banana muffin, which they purchase from a vendor called Buttery. The interior is interesting and different from other cafés in the area. The staff were also very kind. Upon doing some independent research, apparently Ogawa is a Japanese-based company and this location is their first international venture. From seeing the options in-store, there are some beans from Japan, in addition to many options from across the globe. As a coffee maven (okay maybe not just coffee), it was a pleasure to have this unique café experience. I'm excited to be moving close by and spending all of my income at Ogawa :) read more

A very cute coffee, tea shop. I ordered the Houjicha Latte with oat milk, OMG, it was so good. This is the best roasted green tea latte I have ever had. It's was rich and creamy with an earthy flavor. I could drink this all day. We also ordered the salmon bagel on an everything bagel and it was great. I have very mixed feelings about this cafe - I think the drinks are delicious and authentic-tasting, but the prices and atmosphere are overwhelming. To be fair, visiting on an afternoon over the weekend is bound to be busy, but this little building just simply cannot hold the crowds. The line was nearly out the door when we arrived and after ordering, it took about 10 minutes for our drinks to be made. The staff were working diligently and were doing a great job preparing drinks and meals, but they could only do so much. The seating area here was also a bit strange.. we ended up finding a spot on these bleacher-like stairs, but it wasn't very comfortable. The matcha latte I ordered, along with a sticky bun, was delicious and tasted very fresh and authentic. The prices were definitely the highest I've seen in the area though... almost $10 for a single drink which I think is very steep. I don't think Ogawa is a great place for lounging around/relaxing at, but if you're looking for quality drinks you might want to check it out. read more

5 STARS for the Iced Houjicha Latte (Oat Milk)! First time I've had that type of latte & couldn't wait to come back. Other cafes' drinks doesn't compare (take that Cafe M_tcha Mai_o. It's a toasty dark tea taste (roasted green tea leaf). A bit similar undertones to Hong Kong-style Milk Tea tannins, but different... I MIGHT say that I like Houjicha Lattes better than Matcha Lattes! Only if they're from Ogawa Cafe.. Thought about ordering the powder from them online a few Holidays ago, and finally decided to invest $25 into the 20 serving package, when I was back in town. Service is actually pretty quick, considering how long their lines get. The space is small, the stadium step seating helps & theres 2 small tables/nooks even in their front bay windows. 2 individual bathrooms in the back. I wouldn't say that this is a place to co-work in, seems way too busy. But there were people on laptops there. Was craving matcha on this cloudy and cold day, so went to Ogawa since it's known to be so good Great vibes inside, it's a bit tight for more than two people, but my friend and I found a seat at a table (the bench area looked cute but felt too dangerous for mugs full of liquid), good space to talk or work or do general cafe things! The actual matcha itself was a slight let down, the matcha flavor was pretty subtle and also tasted maybe more earthy than other matchas I've had? On top of that it was $9 after tip and tax, so felt not value. But I've been here before once and remember really loving the Hojicha I got, so still 4 stars! Food and drinks were pretty good, we came visiting Boston and they have a nice selection of coffee. The interior is nice and modern but there is limited seating. Drinks and food were prepared fresh! I got the smoked salmon bagel and hojicha latte. The bagel was really good, and the hojicha was also excellent! The roast could really be tasted on the matcha, the only thing is the drink is a little small. We were a little disappointed because we saw they had ice cream, matcha roll cake, and a rose matcha latte from other reviews, but it seems these are all seasonal. Still great food, and good lattes if you are looking for a specific coffee. Just not necessarily a place that offers something special, as you can get most of the items at other places. Came here for some coffee and Wi-Fi and Ogawa delivered! Their menu includes roasted coffee beans from Japan and they take their coffee seriously as "coffee artisans." Upon request I think they do designs, but honestly I was just happy to enjoy a damn good latte. The service is friendly and although there's a steady line of people, they are incredibly quick with orders. There's a decent amount of tables and an interesting set of bleacher seating as well. I'd definitely recommend if you need a pick-me-up in the area and I'll definitely be back to try the other menu items! read more

Popular, cute coffee shop that I finally had the chance to try on a rainy Sunday recently. The place was packed when we dropped in in the afternoon - it was just fortunate that a table happened to clear as we were queuing. There is a bleacher-like section in the back that was crowded and seemed rather uncomfortable to me. We ordered a matcha latte and a matcha rose latte. The lattes were both very fragrant - rich, pure matcha flavour that was a wonderful warm treat. The rose flavour was a nice addition, although I will admit I am not the biggest fan of the rose x tea flavour combination. I quite enjoyed our drinks. However, I did find prices to be rather steep ($6.75/$7.00) and I'm not sure that the drinks themselves were worth it. They have a decent variety of food options that I hear are quite good so I might give those a try if I come back. read more

Most recent visits - I got a Gingerbread latte and an Eggnog latte. See pics. One is a hot drink one is cold. The gingerbread latte (hot) is good for the holiday season but it does have a unique taste that might not be for everyone. The eggnog latte (cold) is like a 10/10 in my opinion. This year it tastes better than last year or maybe it was just the person making it recently who did it so well. I could drink like 3 or 4 of those at one time. Quite addictive. Came here around 12:45pm on a Saturday and it was very lively. Managed to snag a seat at a shared table by the front, and observed people coming and going all throughout the afternoon. Ordered a matcha rose latte and it was wonderful. It only comes hot, which is my only gripe, as I prefer iced drinks. It comes out so beautifully that someone in line asked what drink I ordered. A Japanese-based coffee shop in Boston, this is the place to go. I got the coffee jelly malt with avocado toast. Both delicious; both aesthetically pleasing. I always been a take out regular on the weekdays and the drinks always have been great. First time dining in and I like the space. I'm a big fan of the various seatings since it gives a different perspective of the coffee shop. However the service tend to be slow due to the high volume of patrons. Went here every morning for a week that I was in Boston for a work trip. It is right around the corner of my work's building. i only have nice things to say about this place. their matcha and hoejicha tastes authentic and they give great recommendations. they get really busy! well deserved though. i'm going to miss this place when i leave Boston. it's a small cafe and has cute japanese style stair/stadium seating. since it is small, it can get really loud inside/ difficult to find a seat if you're there to work or chat. overall very clean, efficient, and service was good! read more
